Les gens sont sympa. Bonne musique . Le concept du brunch +spectacle un dimanche est bien. Le groupe qui joue aujourd’hui est Câltar-bateau. Original et peu connu. J’aime bien.

Was there yesterday for the first time to see an AWESOME show by Scarlett Jane. I was pleasantly surprised to find ample parking on the street… mind you it was a Wednesday night! But that always starts the evening on a bright note! The place itself was really nice. Absolutely loved the art on the walls! Must have been a Halloween theme, but quite cool. Now I wish I had taken pictures. Drinks were nicely priced and staff quite nice and helpful. I would go again with pleasure! I just might check online their line-up for the next few weeks!

Cool little bar/venue hangout with free foosball. Welcoming and friendly staff. Local art hanging on the walls added to the atmosphere.

Idk who claimed that drinks are super cheap. Average price. Missed the show. Few folks hung around after it though. Mostly cleared out. Drunk bartender. Nothing you can’t find elsewhere.

This place is great! Drinks are super cheap and delicious. The bartenders are friendly and laid back. I love the art work. The music is great too. If I lived here I’d definitely come back :)

My friend and I were plopping through Montréal one night, and I say plopping because he convinced me to eat poutine from this touristy crank shaft(see my review for Montréal Poutine), feeling really sick and wanting to just chill. I suggested Divan Orange because we got lost and it was the only thing that I could see and it was cold. Why anyone who is not a penguin or polar bear, or the Penguin, or perhaps someone hiding in a polar bear suit stalking penguins would live in Montréal is beyond me. As plopping takes a lot of effort, we stopped by. Granted, we were only there for about an hour and we didn’t stay for the live shows, but it was really chill(not chill like how cold it was but in the sense that it wasn’t not chill). My friend also suggested to try a full pitcher of sangria… in a dive bar… to split between two people. It was not great, but I feel like it is my fault for going along with this plan to drink wine and fruit in a dark dive bar who probably only offers sangria ironically, or because it’s the best thing to wash down poutine, or because people from Montréal are weird, or all of the above, or a combination of some of them but not all. A and B but not C kinda stuff ;) I would recommend this for a place to be cozy and hang, play pool, not eat poutine, and drink $ 5PBR. Despite the sign’s suggestion, $ 5(even fake Canadian play money) is not a deal for a PBR, even a tall boy. I also had a beer there(don’t worry not PBR), and it was p. good. I like the vibes of this place. Should I ever saunter to Montréal again, I’d go back most likely, I’m not sure, I’m not a soothsayer, I don’t think I’ve said a single sooth in my life.

Decided to drop in to Divan Orange on a Friday night. Always a great atmosphere here. Good local bands playing, young crowd was pretty much into the tunes. Mostly a standing room type of place, beer is cheap and service is always friendly. Great spot to chill and listen to some non-commercial music.

This is a great venue for beer and some good live music, Montréal-style. Skillfully decorated on the inside, you feel that this is THE place to be on a weekend night. I stopped in with some local friends for a reggae show this past weekend. We were able to get some good local beer(which I felt was overpriced but my friends confirmed it was typical for Montréal) and hang out at the foosball table while the DJs were setting up. This placed turned from cool local hangout pub to hardcore dance party in a mad second– and we enjoyed every minute of it. We shifted from the front of the bar with tables to the back with dance floor and stage. Thank you Montréal for not closing your bars at 1 or 2– I hate having to go to a show at 11 and only being able to stay for less than two hours. The music, dancing, and booze kept going until well after 3. Great night!

Great place! I go there pretty often to see bands. They never disappoint . Affordable drinks, great ambiance. My only complaint would be that is can get pretty hot near the stage during the concert because everybody is jumping around like crazy and the ventilation system is old. But if you’re not going there for a packed show, it’s nothing to be concerned about. Definitely go there and enjoy the live music!(or DJ’s sometimes)

Line up pour moi = ma mort. Voila pour L’étoile en moins.

Alright, You Got Me. I went again this past Thursday to check out a show. The crowd was of reasonable size, as in there was room to move around a little and no one was wearing wool hence, I enjoyed the place. I took in the art work, put on my dancing shoes and had a good time.
The hooch prices are inexpensive, which is great, my only issue are these. The snooty french bar maid who refuses to speak English, can’t pour a black velvet to save her life and then fights with me when I refuse the beer. Look lady, I like head as much as the next guy but three fingers worth… you gotta be kidding me. Secondly, capacity. I’ve been to a few shows where I felt like a sardine… and I was at the back of the room. Moreover, the shimmy to the bathroom was ridiculous, as stated in my previous review. All this to say that the door guy keeps a shitty headcount or is more concerned with making a buck. Either way, it can be a great place to see a show but get served by the dude and avoid the place if it is crammed with hipsters. Now move along… nothin’ to see here. waka waka
