If you’re a geek like I am and you want a quiet chill place for reasonably priced drinks in this area with some classic games — I’m talking Jenga, Catan, Blokus, Duck Hunt NES, Street Fighter classic — this is your place. The bartender guy was top notch, seamlessly super helpful to me and my francophone buddy, and way way unpretentious. We played NES Rampage and Street Fighter on an arcade rig over $ 3 whiskys. Relaxed chill to the max.

Great bar. This is a place you should go with your friends when you want to play something at same time when you want to drink. They offer old Nintendo games, something you can’t easily find right now. They got most old popular games. As long as you order something to drink or eat, you can play the game for free. They also got promotion night(discount on drink or food like nachos) Once again, good place.

A, B, C easy as 1,2,3… :) A fitting intro to this throwback themed place! Atmosphere: Definitely throw back — Foonzo is a bar that allows you to sip on spuds and rock out to your favourite NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Sega Genesis games! Definitely a very cool place to relax on a weeknight :) Downside? — the place is a bit on the dingy side. Old TVs, well worn couches, crude set up — essentially looks like they pilfered their décor from someone’s basement … perhaps in keeping with the throwback theme?! Food: You come here to drink not eat! Nothing fancy! Service: Nice people — was ple

Really surprising, really fun. I was never a kid who had video games, ever, and I’ve never particularly enjoyed board games so this bar wasn’t really on my radar, but I was curious, and when the joyful and wise Sarah M invited us I was pretty excited to try it. So yes, there’s just a sidedoor south of St Catherine that leads to a basement, and then there’s black stairs down to a dark room with red couches and it’s a tad worrisome at first. The chairs and tables remind me of a bar/café place I used to hang out at when I was around high school age(but legal, obvi) and I thought maaaan, I would hang out here all the time if I was a kid these days, and as a kid at heart I’ll be back for sure. The fries were skinny and salty, the staff was totally nice and bilingual without even a hint of the snark I sometimes associate(to my error, clearly) with high level nerdom. There were 2 interesting beers on tap and lots of funny fruity cocktails with geek-referential names. The games are free so we could play some racing game(and by «racing» I do mean spinning endlessly in circles and driving into walls) and Mortal Kombat(which a friend had when I was a kid and brings out a not-entirely-attractive murderous glee in me) and then hang out with a bigger group and play Cards Against Humantity. The company was top notch and I was super glad they led me to discover this odd basement oasis amidst the chain boutiques of St Catherine.
