We went out to celebrate my mother’s birthday, the food is amazing, however the issue is with the service. It was not bad service the waitress seemed very professional however we waited a while for our salads and we were in the middle of eating our salads when our meals came and that was awkward. They also forgot to give us crackers for the crab legs. The strangest part was at the end when the waitress gave us a desert we did not order and said it was compliments of the manager because of the issues with the service and he will come speak to us. The manager did walk by and stare at us but that’s it. And then the waitress came back and explained there was a mistake that the desert was ment for the table behind us. At least they didn’t charge us for the desert but we left confused.

Red Lobster is more nostalgia and those biscuits than it is about fine dining. It’s an outrageously overpriced menu that lacks affordable menu options. The seafood, unless ordering actual lobster and crab, is going to be breaded and deep-fried(like cheap fishsticks). I ordered the steamed crab legs and they were pretty good, although the portion was on the small side. The side of corn was an uninspired filler(just a dry, sad piece of corn). The biscuits are phenomenal, as usual. Little garlicky clouds of lard, as they should be. If you go, prepare to spend minimum $ 30 per person. I suggest going for the real seafood and avoiding the battered stuff, unless that’s your thing.

The last visit was disappointing because the waitress acted as though *we* were a disappointment. No matter what your customer’s order, a server should never harbor an attitude. It’s your job maintain integrity. Unfortunately she didn’t realize she lost out on a very hefty tip. Instead I gave her what she was«expecting.»

I haven’t been to Red Lobster in a while, so I decided to take my parents out to dinner at Red Lobster. They changed their menu layout and a few menu items. The prices are reasonable. However, the food quality is only average and tonight… our food was very salty. Our server was very nice and friendly. I have to say in my opinion, the food quality has gone down a bit.

Food was great! Service has seriously deteriorated. Avoid Debra!!! I don’t understand their servers & an inclination to outright argue with customers about their orders. I’m allowed to order whatever I like!

My mother and I come here often. We’re from the East Coast and we genuinely enjoy seafood so why not go to Red Lobster! The last time we went, the woman forgot my beer. I asked her I think twice for it after I ordered it and she came back with it saying that it was waiting for me at the bar. It was flat and slightly warm, so I asked for a new one and she did without issue. However, what she brought me back was not the beer I ordered. I mentioned it right away and she argued that it was. I drank it anyways, she was going to make us pay for it either way. Also, I explained that I have a severe allergy and requested that it not be on my salad and she gave me extra. Another server, a woman that is always there, looked at me funny and asked about my allergy and she got me a new salad. We ordered garden salads to start, the lobster tail feast and a pound of crab legs. It was all really good! I know RL is really trying to step it up and they’re doing a great job!

This Red Lobster is the better in Ottawa. Lots of parking! Lots of tables and room to sit(less wait time). And… of course… the food was super yummy(if you like seafood). St Laurent is nice to but way too small and not a lot of parking. I prefer the Merivale Red Lobster!!!

Amazing food and service The ambiance was great and it was worth the drive from Montréal. If you are a big eater you will be happy because the plates are big. They also have a full bar and they make very good drinks. Wish we still had Red Lobster restaurant in QC

What really irritated me was that myself and my aunt came in and were told a 20 min wait. As I looked around the restaurant there were plenty of empty tables and booths were the 4 – 5 parties of people could have been sat. Completely retarded. The food was less then impressive and service was okay. I admittedly was not in a good mood by the time I sat down so I was not in the mood for idle chit chat with the waitress I won’t recommend to anyone to go to Red Lobster. I’d rather go to a sushi restaurant then eat at Red Lobster again. ugh

Yesterday was mine and my boyfriends’ 3rd year anniversary, so we wanted to go out for dinner. I was craving seafood, and we didn’t want to travel too far, since we were bussing. we decided on red lobster. when we got there I was worried because the outside was full of scaffolding and was under construction, but luckily it was still open! we were handed a buzzer and told to wait even though the place wasn’t very busy and there were many open tables. after 15 minutes we were seated and our server greeted us promptly. she took our drink orders and was back quickly with our drinks. I ordered the ultimate feast(4 breaded shrimp, a dish of garlic shrimp, crab legs, a lobster tail and a side. I chose broccoli), my man ordered the live maritime lobster stuffed with rice, broccoli and cheese. we were brought cheddar bay biscuits which were amazing! he ate five! I controlled myself and only ate two. after a little while our food arrived. our waitress kept coming back to check on us, she was very sweet. I thought my food was great! a little but salty? sure, but I love salty food. the broccoli was bland, but no other complaints from me! my boyfriend lived loved his food as well, but wished the lobster was bigger! overall I had a great time and enjoyed my food :)

Don’t recommend this place if you’re a large party for the following reasons: –they don’t take reservations –adding two people to your original request of a table of 7 gets you another 30 minutes of waiting time –they need two servers and the hostess is not friendly at all. Regarding the service: –Not a great impression when the… first person you speak with gives you attitude. When trying to figure out the timing of when the table was available — the rude hostess said«I TOLD you it would take an hour and 15 to an hour and 30 and you’ve ONLY been waiting for 30 minutes». A simple — «I’m sorry it going to be another hour» would have sufficed. –Also to the server: remember not all red-heads appreciate being called«ginger». Please note that this wait was for a Wednesday night… just a tip when you take reservations it helps you staff accordlingly so people don’t have to wait for excessive amount of time.

The problem is that many nights, it gets so crowded and you need to reserve a table in advance. I usually order the shrimp trio. The shrimp with alfredo is the most delicious in the trio. Once every couple of months, they also bring shrimp festival offer which is in a sense like a shrimp buffet, but you need to order a plate and they will then bring it to your table.

OK I needed to update this review and everything was going great until the last four visits that we had been there. We had been sacked with this old nasty waitress at lunch times around 3 pm. We usually sit at a booth near the window and are always sacked with this horrible person, who is useless, nasty and non responssive and get this, expects a tip at the end. We always leave feeling worst off than when we came at this location 1595 Merivale Road, Ottawa, ON(613) 727‑0035, We have talked to the manager about her and how we always wait for our food. And how she has a nasty attitude, but nothing has happened. So I have contacted their head office and am waiting to see if there is any resolution to this and will keep contacting them until the attitudes change at that place and quality of service. The manager needs to be replaced and specially this old hag needs to retire.

Came here tonight to celebrate me and my mom’s birthdays. We waited 10 minutes with the buzzer(during dinner rush) which wasn’t bad at all. We were seated by a really nice host and our waiter came accordingly. He got our orders promptly and followed with the cheddar biscuits. These biscuits(sadly) are my favorite thing that comes out of this restaurant chain. They’re always warm, soft and buttery. Sooo good. Everyone in my family loves them too. Salad was served next. It was pretty typical… something I could make better at home. My parents got the ultimate feast(lobster tail, sides, garlic shrimp, crab legs, 29 $) while my grandma and I each something similar(don’t remember what it was called)(lobster tail, sides, garlic shrimp, skewer of grilled shrimp, 23 $). Sides consist of your choice of either fries, broccoli, rice, baked potato or mashed. We all got mixtures of rice/mash/broccoli. Rice was seasoned but boring, mash was a good creaminess but pretty salty, and the broccoli was just steamed. Pretty boring overall. The lobster was good but everything else was just over buttered and over salted(which is expected from RedLobster). Boooo. We also ordered a crab cake app(10 $) that the waiter totally forgot about. I reminded him about it and he brought it out in the middle of our entrees. It apologized and offered us dessert on him, but my mom is too nice and kindly refused.(*tear* I wanted free cake!!!) Crab cakes ended up being pretty nasty. Maybe they use canned crab or something, but in the end it tasted like canned tuna… it was even in the shape and color of canned tuna… *shifty eyes* Overall service was good, food is barely mediocre, prices are decent for seafood and biscuits are to die for. I still come here because my parents like it, but it’s definitely not something I would choose.

This review is for this particular location of Red Lobster. When we arrived there was a waiting line of about 7 people in front of us. They gave us a buzzer and we walked around the plaza for about 25 minutes before the buzzer went off. So my experience was during rush hour. Once seated, we were welcomed by our waiter fairly quickly. He was very helpful and delivered great customer service via conversation and serving. The food was good; in fact it was better then my previous experience with red lobster in another city. For some reason the fountain pop had a particularly off putting taste, not sure if there was just something wrong that day. Overall I would recommend this location.

I’ve always had great service at this location. It’s red lobster. What else to say? I guess for those who have no idea what to expect, red lobster is a seafood oriented restaurant. This location is very child friendly. Favorites include the Admirals feast, ultimate feast, and the choose any three. All these offer a selection of garlic shrimp and scallops, broiled shrimp, and either lobster tail or fish. One thing to note is the lobster tails I’ve gotten have never been amazing in size. I think you’ll get a great size if lobster tail if you order the steak combo with the rock lobster tail. The pick your three is flexible option for those who want a little of everything. Steak and Chicken are other options available on the menu. The last time I went I tried the steak and found that it was a bit tough. Overall a decent family restaurant if you’re in the mood for seafood.

The only time I really go here is when they have the all-you-can-eat shrimp deal going on. If you haven’t tried it, you don’t know what you’re missing! For 20 bucks you can get a nice variety of endless shrimp such as Garlic, Breaded, Popcorn, Cajun, Original and more! Hot Tip: Don’t fill up on bread, sides and pop. Save room for as much shrimp as you can. They will let you take the rest home including your last plate of shrimp(if you don’t finish it).

stopped here for lunch while shopping. slow service and typical red lobster menu. i wanted a quick event that i knew the menu and could have a quick in and out for lunch. did not happen. the waitstaff seems to think everyone is out for a long lunch and that makes it all better. will not go again.
