Got a voucher from the hotel — so thought we’d try it out. Faark! Extremely overpriced food — over 50 Dollars for a chicken breast!!! Over 50 dollars for a piece of fish! I’d expect papers about how they were hand raised and bottle fed before landing on my plate. Nothing to say organic, wagyu beef or anything. Also sides had to be added as extra too.(around 12 dollars for a few mushrooms!!) Wine list extremely expensive but nothing stood out as to why. Ordered calamari for starter(25 dollars!) it was rubbery and inedible — we told our server and he took it off the bill. Thank you for that. Have eaten in many high end restaurants around the world — better food for half the price. this just took the piss. It obviously preys on tourists and pretends they’re getting something amazing. Was expecting someone to pop out and say ‘ha! Only joking! Prices are not real!‘ The waiter was lovely though. Please no — this place should be banned. Came away hungry and deluded.

First time visitors to Niagara, this restaurant was recommended to us. We had a voucher to save some money which was also nice. The service was great. The hostess was very accommodating(I was in a wheelchair with a broken leg) we also didn’t wait at all to be sat. Our server was fantastic, as well. He explained the entire menu to us and gave recommendations for our dinner. Our meal was amazing. We got an 8 oz steak– served on a sizzling hot plate. Our meat was cooked PERFECTLY. We ordered the mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts for sides, both were amazing. The price is VERY high but certainly worth it. We spent over $ 230 Canadian dollars which was more than we were planning. We don’t regret it though! If you don’t mind playing for a quality meal– go check them out!!!

EXTREMELYPRICEY! We were literally caught in the«tourist trap». We got charged $ 13 for a flat water and the steak was more well done than medium. We can accept the fact that this is an upscale restaurant with polite customer service and she was very understanding when we asked them to get rid of T.I.F from our bill. I would like to say: Thank god for that $ 70 voucher from the hotel package

The Good… 1. The atmosphere is incredible! I’ve been to one other Ruth’s Chris before, and this one was much nicer, with secluded, cozy booths and fireplaces on TV screens in the booths. 2. Our waiter was fantastic! He was attentive, got us a free dessert for our anniversary, and even wrote down a list of the best things to do in Niagara since it was our first time. The Bad… 1. We had a $ 70 voucher from our hotel to eat here… but they take it off after tax. With $ 50+ in tax, the voucher doesn’t do much. The Ugly… 1. The taxes. Oh the taxes. We knew the meal would be pricey… but the taxes were more than my steak! They told us the law just changed, and that they can no longer remove the«optional» tourist tax. After a conversation with the manager, he eventually refunded the tax in cash to us. Online I found no articles about the tourist tax no longer being optional, so be cautious and ask questions.

Overrated, overpriced. We’re disappointed by extra charges on an already inflated bill.

First review on Unilocal. My girlfriend and I just had an amazing meal here. *The waiter(Mike) explained everything very well so there was no confusion. He was very friendly and we felt like he enjoyed serving us. *The food was cooked perfectly and it was all delicious. *the manager even checked in with us to see how our meal was. It is important to know that entrées do not come with sides. We split a huge baked potato which was plenty for us to share(sides are portioned to share). It is an expensive place to eat, but if you have a voucher from a hotel you’re staying in, it really helps.(Please remember to tip based upon your total cost before the voucher is applied) Also, take your time and relax. This isn’t fast food. If you’re in a rush, go to Burger King. Not due to the fault of the restaurant(this is why my review remains 5 star), the only downside to the experience was the taxes involved. There was sales tax as well as some sort of tourism tax. Overall I would recommend!

Came here with the $ 70 voucher from Four Points Sheraton. Although my expectations wasn’t high to begin with, I don’t understand the lighting of this place. it was very dark and hard to read the menu(perhaps it was set up that way, so you don’t see the prices) Even though I was forewarned that this is going to be a pricy meal. I still managed to go over my already inflated budget of $ 100 for 3 adults. I had the cheapest«steak» which was 8oz beef tenderloin($ 57.50), portebello mushroom($ 39), salmon($ 43). $ 15 extra for each side? no thank you! We just shared the asparagus, tomatos, mashed potatoes, from the portebello mushroom dish between the 3 of us. Subtotal was already over $ 100. plus 13% HST and 8% TIF… suffice to say, $ 70 voucher is not nearly enough. Was the food good? Beef tenderloin wasn’t that tender. Salmon I found it flaky and overly salty+peppery. Portebello mushroom was decent though. The best part? Probably the bathroom. Those were some nice paper towels for wiping hands.

The Niagara falls location is across the street from fallsview casino and of course place a expensive steak house next to a casino. This place is a bit expensive for a slab of protein as the waiter called my steak. Don’t get me wrong I do love steak and willing to pay for Kobe or wagyu but the presentation atmosphere was not like Jacobs steak house where everyone is enthusiastic about steak and the process and how long they age it, season it and the origins of it. Maybe because its a chain restaunt To me if I’m going to pay $ 100+ per person I would want a better quality steak and service.

1. The waiter asked us if we wanted flat or sparkling water. We said flat assuming he would bring out regular water. We got charged $ 13 2. They asked us if we were celebrating anything. We said my birthday but they didn’t bring anything out… so why are you wasting my time and breath 3. My steak was overcooked 4. Their wine glasses were dirty

Okay first of all, you guys on this website who got a voucher — lucky you! If you get a voucher for this restaurant, go ahead and use it! Yes, this restaurant is a bit pricey, so heads up for that. Personally, when I first entered(the front desk lady was polite) we were placed at a nice location and was served nicely by the servers. As someone who visits a lot of upscale restaurants, it wasn’t a top-notch experience for me. However it was acceptable. She was very kind the whole time, and had a great sense of humor. We ordered three different kinds of steaks and one of them was not done the way we wanted it to be. I have to say that’s the only issue we had. The steaks were delicious. Very well seasoned and grilled. Our beverages were alright. One thing I have to mention though, the Potato au Gratin… oh my goodness! Just scrumptious! The broccoli was alright, it was what I expected it to be. Nothing special. But overall, the potato and steak was well worth the price. The servers were all polite, the ambiance was great and the food was delicious. I’d say if you don’t have an issue with paying much for quality food, I’d say take a trip down to Niagara and pay them a visit. I’ll be returning.

Overrated. The food sucked, but at least the customer service was awesome! My family and I did the 5 course meal or whatever. The lobster Mac n cheese was good but the lobster bisque was super salty and gross. The potato au gratin was weird because the potato were chopped chunky instead of sliced thinly. The cheese that was melted on top of the potatoes tasted like unwashed, salty, calamari. Very weird. The lemon sorbet was delicious without the champagne. The chicken was pretty delicious, but whatever cream they use for it is kinda too salty for me. My sister said their salmon was good, but their Caesar salad or whichever salad it was, was NOT fresh!

So my husband and i are on vacation here and we recieve a $ 70 off voucher to go to ruth chris. We went there knowing it would be pretty pricey. But you know the biggest scam is, that they charge you 50+ for an entrée but all the sides are a la carte. Nothing comes with the entrée and you pay an additional 15+ for any sides you want. So expect to pay $ 70+ a person. We were grateful to have the $ 70 voucher, otherwise we would never spend that much on dinner(not being cheap, just practical) overall food was good. I got the salmon, my husband got the chicken. Very flavorful. The baked potato was spectacular! Our server was sweet, we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and they gave us a complementary dessert. Food is good, just not for $ 200, not worth it.

I came to Ruth’s Chris as part of a Groupon deal, where you get hotel stay, voucher for dinner, and voucher for Clifton Hills Arcade. The interior was beautiful, and huge! I felt like I was walking forever to get to my table. The staff was friendly, but nothing special for what I was expecting. In terms of food, it was over-priced, as they increase the price just because you are in a tourist area. They also add on a tourist fee(which you can ask them to remove). My steak was cooked perfectly, and tasted good — Strong butter taste… but I love butter, so I’m okay with that! Entrees do not come with anything, so expect to spend another $ 15 to order a side. Even after the voucher, we paid a lot for good steak. But I was expecting more for the price.

I got a voucher with the hotel when I came here. Even with the voucher i felt ripped off. This was the first time I have been to a Ruths but I also was expecting the price range. The steak was OK. But for a restaurant selling steaks close to 100 dollars a piece, OK is totally unacceptable. I was expecting to be blown away but the steak was not even as good as my home made. Apparently the price was even higher than the locations in other urban areas. Unfortunately i had brought all my friends and i was absolutely embarrassed by this caliber and price of the food. Service was good, and venue was nice. But you can go to the keg for better at the falls. Food 2⁄5 Price 1⁄5 Location 3⁄5 Venue 4⁄5 Note: imagine tip and tourism fee on a 300 dollar bill. :(

Ruth Chris is renowned for their fine steaks, but not the one here in Niagara. Ordered a medium rare steak but I guess it cooked in transit as it was definitely medium by the time it got in front of me. On the plus side: sweet potato casserole was delicious, highly recommend this side dish!

When we recently stayed overnight at the Four Points Sheraton in Niagara Falls, ON, we received a $ 70 voucher to Ruth’s Chris as part of our hotel package. I had never been to a Ruth’s Chris before but I had heard great things about their food from friends who had visited other locations. So, initially I was excited to see what all the fuss was about… but then I read some straight up BAD reviews about this particular location. People claimed that this restaurant was an overpriced tourist trap with horrible service. We figured that we would just have to find out for ourselves because we did not want the voucher to go to waste. I guess sometimes it’s better to have low expectations because we were blown away! The atmosphere at Ruth’s Chris is unlike any other restaurant I have ever been to. It’s truly a beautiful space. When we first arrived, we felt transported somewhere far beyond Niagara Falls. It almost felt like we were in Toronto, New York, Las Vegas– some other big, flashy, exciting city. We were thrilled to find that our table was a private booth and we had the ability to close the curtains for ultimate privacy if we decided to. Super cool! I can agree with all the reviews that stated that this place is pricey. There is no denying that. Our voucher barely covered our bottle of wine. However, if we had decided not to order a bottle(meh…), our meal would have been much more affordable. So, those on a very tight budget beware and plan to order strategically! Since we had already eaten a lot of red meat recently, we both decided against their supposedly world famous steak. I ordered the stuffed chicken while my husband ordered the crab cake entrée and we shared a side of potatoes au gratin. I am not exaggerating– I think this was the best chicken I’ve ever had. It was very moist and the seasoning was simple and yet the flavor was off the charts. As someone who often tries to replicate recipes, I would have no idea how to go about doing this one because it tasted like magic. The potatoes and crab cakes were also excellent. It was the happiest of surprises. Even with the voucher, it was still a sizable bill. Because the food was so wonderful and it was such a cool experience, we did not even blink at the price tag. It really was a great evening. The added cherry on top was that they brought us a free dessert because we said that we were celebrating our one year anniversary. It was a very nice and much appreciated touch. We loved eating here and would come back in a heartbeat to try the steak… but maybe not until we both get pay increases at work. ;)

We ate at Ruth Chris last night in Niagara Falls. Now I know they have good meats and you pay extra for sides and anything else, but I purchased a nice GLASS of cab franc for $ 28, then found it today at the store for $ 13.98 a bottle! I know they need to pay for the restaurant, but I felt that was a bit much. I think it turned me off to Ruth Chris for awhile.

This was our first time at Ruth’s. We got 70 $ vouchers with our hotel reservations and decided to try it. The service and ambiance were good but the food, even though very good, is way overpriced. I had the filet at 69 $ CAD for the steak alone. It was excellent but it wasn’t the best I’ve had. Any side dish is extra. Potatoes? 14 $. Broccoli? 14 $ It ended up costing us 471 $ for 4 people and only 2 of us had appetizers(15 $ salads), and one of us had dessert. Not worth it for the money in my opinion.

We didn’t stick around long enough to eat at this location and here’s why… We made reservations for dining last night, as we have LOVED and been amazed at every Ruth’s Chris we have ever been to before in Florida, Toronto etc! I don’t know what was happening with this oh so touristy location last night, but never again at this spot! I’ll choose to enjoy my 50 dollar filet from a different Ruth’s Chris thank you! As our table was not yet available when we arrived, I made a bee line to the restroom to freshen up. When I found the restroom, almost back across the boarder, I was greeted by a lovely bathroom attendant. She was 1 of 2 highlights here. This place is huge and opulent and with super friendly bathroom attendants apparently. When I returned to the bar where my husband was going to get cocktails, I see him chatting with the hostess Alex, she was highlight 2 of 2. She was assisting him with ordering cocktails, as there was no bartender on duty! Bizarre that there was no bartender on duty on a Friday night at a Ruth’s Chris. We sat at our table, and along came our server. She was nice, but not sharp with the wine menu at all. I’ll try to leave it at that. Let me just say, she said a 176 dollar bottle of wine was«okay»! Really? Speaking of menus, my husband had food stuck to his. We decided to leave at the thought of this going even more down hill and on our way out we asked the concierge to make reservations for a different steakhouse across the border, which we were sat at 15 minutes later and had a wonderful experience:)

Not worth the extra money. We went here for our anniversary, the greeting was pleasant and the atmosphere above average. Although we were not a fan of the lighting in our booth. When it came down to the steak I have to admit it was not the best we have ever had. Yes it was comes to temperature, yes it was hot and had butter on it, buy for $ 75.00 for the steak alone I was disappointed. I had the ribeye. The asparagus was nicely crisp, the potatoes creamy. I had a cucumber Collins which cost $ 15.00. The drink cost blew me away! The service was nice but again was not at the level I expect at the cost. We did receive a free dessert for our anniversary and it was a nice touch. Save your money and try something else.
