One of our winery stops when traveling through the town. If you’re doing a trip through this valley, this is a place you should check out and get at least a few bottles.

Absolutely the best winery tasting environment I’ve ever been to! New glass with every different wine. Joel was extremely knowledgable about ever detail involving wine. Signed up for the twice yearly case of wine… can’t wait to receive my first case!

Very beautiful views from their patio/deck. Their whites were very tasty compared to their reds. Very reasonably priced wines. I loved the experience of sitting on their patio & having them bring out the next tasting. Relaxed, friendly, casual. Grabbed a bottle of Vivace(Prinot Gris) & a bottle of Leggiero(an Un-Oaked Chardonnay). Worth a re-visit some time.

BC wines with an Italian soul. Love the Vivace Pinot Grigio(very Italian, crisp and steely) and the Fortissimo(their take on a super-tuscan, complete with a splash of sangiovese). Their more spendy wines(up to $ 100 a bottle) are fantastic as well but too rich for my pocketbook.

A wine tasting with a touch of grace and elegance. This was a first-time visit for us. We arrived to find a very lovely property — outside ‘and’ inside — and when inside, the whole scene, including why we were there(which was to see, and possibly taste some of their wine offerings), had a nice touch of elegance about it. What I tasted: ‘Leggiero’(Chardonnay), ‘Vivace’(Pinot Grigio), and ‘Fortissimo’(a red blend). The tastings were very enjoyable, the wines tasted all very fine — I particularly-enjoyed the Pinot Grigio and the red blend. It was a visit that will not be forgotten … and I give high-marks to the very gracious hosts!

Don’t skip this winery, the view alone is worth the visit. The staff were friendly and informative. As two wine novices, we enjoyed it a lot!

Absolutely top notch tasting guides at this establishment. We did our tasting on the beautiful patio since the bar was busy and the guide didn’t want us to wait. The tasting takes about 20 minutes I think, but to be honest I lost track of time because they had so much interesting stuff to say about their particular wines, and wine in general(and I’ve been to many wineries). The tasting is $ 5(waived with purchase), but I have no complaints since this includes a taste of a $ 95 bottle of red. The owners are clearly dedicated to making and sharing the best Italian-inspired wine they can.

A beautiful setting and some nice wines. It was a bit busy when we arrived so we were asked if we could wait a few minutes on the deck. It is a gorgeous setting. Our hostess came out and looked around and said, «It is a beautiful day, would you like to do the tasting out here» What a deal some very nice wines in a wonderful setting. The Muscato is a must by, the unoaked Chardonnay very unique and the Fortissimo a great blend. Overall a great, relaxing tasting.

Very nice place to stop… and while the building is nice, and the view is great, the wines are more hit and miss. As with their sister winery, we liked their first vintage a bit better than the last we tried, but we’ll be stopping by again soon! Tasting room and staff are very nice, price points are a bit high for quality, but I’d still say it’s a «must stop» on a BC tour. Of course if the exchange rate was better… I might be singing a different tune… :-) Update: On this trip, it’s one of the shining stars of the group! Well balanced, and nice line up in general. They’re coming along very well! Price points are still a bit high, but hey, when in BC…

La Stella is the type of place I’d consider having a small wedding at. the patio off the back of the tasting room is gorgeous, with an amazing view of the vineyard, and there is the CUTEST little room that looks like a modern version of French Provincial. The sparkling moscato is *most* excellent, and worth every sip.

La Stella’s new building is totally gorgeous, and perhaps I am being unfair here to them in particular to have my little nostalgic screed, but it makes me very sad that wineries in the Okanagan are starting to charge — kind of a lot — for their tastings. Five bucks? Come on! One of the things I’ve loved the most about tasting in the Okanagan has been that it feels like getting off the track. I love the family feel and utter enthusiasm for food and wine so many of the wineries offer, and the chance to just hang out and have a nice conversation while tasting. For me personally, I always buy more when I feel like I connect. And, La Stella felt like some of the more sterile mass producers in Napa/Sonoma. Maybe that means they’ve «arrived,» but it feels to me like something’s been lost. That said, their sparkling muscato is absolutely delish and you should definitely buy some– you can still get it in town at Firefly.

La Stella is a small winery in Osoyoos. It’s only been open for a few months, but it’s worth a visit. When we arrived, we were greeted and invited to go up to the top of the gorgeous Tuscan style building to see the view of the vineyard and Lake Osoyoos. Breathtaking! This is one beautiful place. The wine is very good. In fact, I am enjoying a glass of Vivace 2006 Pinot Grigio right now!
