I hate to leave bad reviews, especially for small businesses as we all value what they bring to the community in terms of jobs and identity and want to see them thrive. It brings me no pleasure to say that this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Ottawa. Highlights of our dinner at FarmTeam include: –Flat and funny tasting beer from the tap poured into a bottle(?) –Sandwiches that take an hour(!) or more to come to the table despite the restaurant being empty(it was 6pm). –A chicken wrap with virtually no chicken in it that gets sent back to the kitchen and comes back fingered by the cook with a few additional slices of chicken. –A philly cheese steak sandwich in name only — dry bread that’s almost stale, unseasoned beef, cheese that’s not melted, raw peppers. –A terrible but memorable experience we’ll reminisce and laugh about in the future. Here’s to hoping they turn this place around.

Save your money and skip this restaurant. Was curious to try out this place for the first time. Went for Brunch this Sunday, food cold, mistake on orders, presentation is poor and overpriced for what you get. Did not check the reviews, should of. The only nice thing going is the atmosphere. It’s been a very long time where I’ve not, at all, enjoyed an outing to a restaurant — this was it. Hope things really improve.

Located in the busy Bank Street area, one of the many restro pub in the area. There is parking in the lot, there are some outdoor spaces as well. The place definitely have good vibe. Busy on a Friday night. Well, if it is not busy on a Friday night, then it is in trouble. One thing I found out was that you cannot order a medium rare burger in Canada, I pretty much had a medium rare burger around the world. In any case, in most North American city, you never get a real medium rare burger, you get a medium. Our server told us that it is illegal in Canada to serve a medium rare burger !!! I checked it on the internet later on, and it is true… I then asked about what if it is a steak. Well, a steak is not a problem! Why then? His explanation was that it is because the way the burger was processed. My burger come way over cooked, the kitchen was very slow and frankly not appetizing. My dinning buddy’s steak was over cooked as well. The server is pleasant, but it does not make up for the long wait and overcooked food.

Horrible food just like the horrible service. Few friends and I ordered the meatballs because we heard others just rave about them — well we got them and they were cold and nasty just drenched in some cream sauce. We are not fussy people and we really don’t ever complain especially since we work in the industry ourselves but I guess he got the hint that we didn’t like them when we left them untouched. We apologized because obviously we felt bad … So we ordered the chicken lettuce wraps and EW, there was hardly any chicken in it and it was drenched in some horrid yellow curry sauce. That was left untouched too and he came around and sarcastically asked«what? You don’t like those either?» We told him it was alright because we felt bad for not liking another item yet again… But we knew not to order anything else after cause third time seemed like it would NOT be a charm. After we finished our drinks, we got the bill and of course nothing was taken care of(we weren’t gunna say anything but come on! We didn’t even eat the horrible food, don’t you want to show that you care about the guest? Discount? Apology? Removed?) All in all, will definitely not come back. We were already offered a free dinner from management after emailing about the horrible service. Oh, but the sweet potato fries were soo good tho but not enough for me to be back. This restaurant needs to change their menu and train their staff ALOT better.

Good little neighbourhood pub in the Glebe. Large patio along Bank St. Solid selection of choice for food/drinks(even gluten free!) and good quality food.

Went here on Saturday night, patio was full so we ate inside. There must have been a shortage of servers or an extremely inefficient kitchen. Our server was pleasant but his section was about half of the inside as well as the outside patio. Food took over an hour to arrive. Fish and chips were ok but had been sitting out, chips were soggy. Partner had the«slowly braised pork shank» which looked like it was cooked to death on the surface of the sun. Apparently it tasted like leather. We saw quite a few groups come in, get seated only to leave after 10 – 15 minutes of no server. We should have clued in and gone elsewhere. Patio looks nice though.

We went here for lunch the other day. Here’s what I liked: For starters, they have a parking lot! Unlike many restaurants in the Glebe, which do not, and you are forced to rush through your meal to meet the one hour street parking deadlines. Secondly, They have a big patio with approximately half of the tables in the sun and half in the shade. Thirdly, their sweet potato fries are absolutely amazing. Fourthly, a lot of their ingredients are local — which is awesome! Lastly, I highly recommend their BarnDog beer — it tastes phenomenal. Here is what I did not like: I ordered the veggie sandwich and I wasn’t really a fan. It tasted dry, chewy, and the toppings were poorly arranged so when I took the first bite, half of my sandwich fell apart. Secondly, my meal was relatively expensive(especially considering the quality). It costs almost $ 14.00 for the sandwich plus an extra $ 2.00 for sweet potato fries. Thirdly, our server was inattentive. We had to wait a very long time before we could order another drink and an even longer time before he came around to ask us if we wanted our bill. Lastly, the umbrellas in the patio tables are not secure and ours almost blew right out of our table. An umbrella at another table actually did blow away and nearly hit someone’s car. Seems like a bit of a liability issue to me since someone could easily get hurt if they were hit with that. I might return again but it is more likely that I would try another spot first.

Farm Team is definitely a solid spot for lunch. I happened to stop in here with the lovely Andrea B while in the neighborhood for a late lunch(around 2) and while the place was empty neither our service nor our food suffered for it. I ordered a bowl of the soup of the day(pea soup that was really delicious and came in an overly large serving) as well as a house salad(made with seasonal greens, carrot, tomato, cucumber, red onion and house dressing.) Both were really good. The interior is warm with lots of wood and an open, airy feeling and I could see it being a cool spot to grab a casual dinner as well. If the menu for dinner is as varied and delicious as lunch was I’d easily visit for that meal, too!

This place is terrible. Most pubs in Canada know how to serve a butter chicken. This one serves pita bread as naan. The servers and manager are sketchy, and the house beer is fizzy and overpriced. Nothing about this place speaks to it’s name of being natural. I’d have been better off warming up a frozen Indian dinner from the grocery store. I was hoping this could be a go-to spot in Ottawa, but definitely not.

I’d say this is definitely a 3.5 overall, but the quality of the meal I had here make me bump it to a four instead of three. While walking around the area with Tiffany N I was horrified to find that no where in the neighbourhood was open for lunch between 2 and 4 p.m. After checking out about 4 or five different spots, we decided to call FarmTeam and make sure they were still serving lunch. Thank goodness they were! The place was pretty empty around 2 in the afternoon, but there were some people seated outside. They have a pretty cool looking patio very reminiscent of an old saloon(though I think they are going for a farmhouse, haha). The décor here is lovely and charming complete with mason jar drinks. The menu had a lot of options, and didn’t really seem to have any kind of «theme», although I know they are supposedly all about local food. I ordered the veggie sandwich with a side garden salad and it was PHENOMENAL. One of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Roasted red pepper, cream cheese, sprouts and cucumber on a delicious whole grain bun. The salad was fantastic as well, and I appreciates that they put the dressing on the side. It was super quiet so the guy behind the bar served us. He was kind and nothing exciting to report there. Only bad thing I experienced? The bathroom. It was filthy –ick! Otherwise, I lived this place and I will absolutely come back.

The image they present is local food crafted by innovative chefs, however if you are looking for more than a pub you are going to be disappointed. It’s not that they don’t have a more diverse menu than an average pub, it’s simply that the things which aren’t pub food aren’t particularly good. Pros — very good Caesar and chicken wings. The cooked veggies were also pretty tasty. Cons — The food took a while and over all our service wasn’t great. My mom thought the pea soup was from a can, the ‘basmati’ rice was over done and bland, and the ‘bbq’ chicken was a very tiny piece of boiled chicken with a dab of bbq sauce. Considering that the chicken was $ 20, it seemed pretty over priced for a very so so dish. Overall I’m sure this is a decent spot to have a beer and watch the game but I wouldn’t stray far from the burgers and sandwiches.

I drove by the restaurant and noticed the new sign. From outside to inside, you feel like you’ve been transported to a rustic farm house. The décor is cozy and it’s an instance sense of comfort. Now, onto the food. The FOOD! Although the don’t have eggs benedict, the food was AMAZING! their egg sandwich on fresh fennel bread was a symphony of flavours. The portions were just right, and you left feeling satisfied(and not too full) It’s the kind of place that I feel like if you go there often enough, they’ll get to know your name and you’ll continue to go back.
