I dig the vibe of this bar even though it has some qualities I’m not a fan of. I’ll get the bad stuff out of the way. 1) They don’t have pitchers for some reason. Every time I’m there with a new crowd of people, this always seems to annoy people. 2) Some of the wait staff can be incompetent. I’ve had some bad experiences where I was baffled by their inexperience, but also some pleasant experiences. 3) Their sangria tastes like it was made with grape Kool-Aid. 1) However, their food is pretty tasty with unique twists to the usual pub grub. They even offer some Indian dishes. 2) The owner(Humphrey, but of course) is a really awesome guy. 3) They have one of the only outdoor pub patios in the Glebe with free jazz on Sundays. They also have other musical acts coming in on different nights of the week. 4) Finally, the atmosphere is extremely mellow with low lighting, a beautiful fish tank and comfortable couches for lounging and chatting. You can weigh the pros and cons. I like Humphrey’s despite its downfalls.
