Went there the other week … They gave us the menu, the water came 20 mins after we ordered and the food came after another 15 mins(only 2 soups… there was only 2 table at the restaurant) The quality of the soup was ok… But way too overpriced. They also forgot a dish … Like we only had 3 in total and they forgetting one… After the food came, no one ever came back to refill water or ask if everything is ok… I do not recommend this place

The service was very bad, waiter didn’t even say hello, just went to «what do you want». Went for the all you can eat BBQ, the waiter forgot to bring us the appetizers that came with the BBQ and so I had to remind him. Even the BBQ wasn’t working and the waiter kept trying to fix it rather then going to get a better was over priced and not worth it Overall the food wasn’t great and the service was terrible, not going back again!

I made the HUGE mistake of taking my Korean parents here while they were in town visiting. I’d been here several times before and had excellent tasty food… NOT anymore! They’ve changed owners and both the service and food have gone waaay downhill. It was utterly inedible. The ban chan(typical Korean side dishes) were bland and felt like it’d been sitting in the fridge for too long. The kimchi was somewhat rubbery– I’m not even sure I know how they got it that way(?!) Standard dishes like bibimbop were totally messed up. The veggies were cooked improperly, under seasoned and visually discouraging. The beef was over cooked and really fatty/rubbery. The rice was so old and solid that when you stabbed it, it came up as one single baseball sized ball. I’m a believer in sticky rice but this is jus plain disgusting. I’m convinced this was days old rice just microwaved. The pajun pancake was so undercooked when you cut it in half, we saw the batter run! It was so disgusting. Honestly I can’t imagine a more unpleasant dining experience either. We were the only people there on a Thursday night and yet we couldn’t get anyone’s attention. I don’t like leaving negative reviews but this place is exceptionally bad. Don’t waste your money here. And if you do, be prepared to have stomach aches afterwards.

I don’t think I’ll be coming back here again… I don’t usually review but I just have to do it for this place… I frequent this restaurant often since it opened and even since they changed owners. This last visit was so bad, I would not recommend it to anybody anymore. We ordered a stone bowl bibimbap like we usually do and the dish was barely warm, the rice was soggy and when mixed together tasted like soap. I know what a fresh bibimbap taste like, and I can say this was the worst I’ve ever tasted. I know for a fact that they used leftover rice and soaked it in water… possibly soap sud water… I don’t typically complain at restaurants but it was NOT fit for human consumption. They basically brought the dish back and heated it up… The stir fried beef was beef crumbs and had no solid pieces… I hate to say this but after years of visiting this place, I will NOT be coming back… Do not go

Good food. Large portions(we couldn’t finish our entrees). Slightly pricey. I would come back next time I’m in Ottawa

The tofu soup is great but a little overprice. Will come back on weekdays because they have lunch special menu and the price is more reasonable. For food I give 4 stars, for price I give 2 stars. PS: Corn tea is charged for $ 1 each person.

The food here is amazing, particularly the yukgaejang, kimchi pancakes, and the fried chicken. Service is always extremely friendly.

Overpriced(the most expensive in Ottawa), portions are too small, and everything just tastes like salt/MSG. No wonder no one was in there when we went…

Service is very nice and the restaurant has a nice family feel. My children love it here. I crave their Kim Chi pancake on the regular. Street parking but it’s Somerset so that seems to be to norm. Great for groups.

it has gotten worse, I told the waiter it was a bit burnt, and they made a new one that was more plain than the first. The pork bones has this greasy and stale taste to it.

Worst seafood pancake I ever had. There’re lot good restaurants in China town area but definitely not Korean Palace. Décor is OK but food needs to be improved. There’re no parking space for restaurant and it’s very difficult to find a spot on Somerset.

This is my favourite Korean restaurant in Ottawa. While it is not as good as one may find in Korea, it is a great improvement over what we used to have. I spent 3 years in Korea and know the food well. The food is fresh and reasonable for the quantities provided. The service is always good. I often ask for things not usually provided here(but always provided in Korea) and they are always happy to provide it if available(i.e. sesame leaves). I will continue to be a frequent customer here.

One of my favorite korean dine-in places in Ottawa. They are currently running pretty awesome promotion: text«koreanpalace» to 393939 and receive FREE appetizer with a purchase of any BBQ dish. Hurry up, limited time offer.

Been here twice in a short timespan. Extremely fresh with great presentation. Amazing hot pot, too. Most dishes may seem expensive on the menu, but they have massive portions. Hotpot is made for two, and even then it’s still too much. Tofu kimchi is supposedly made for one, and again is too much for two. Fast and cheap for a great lunch, too. Good service, very clean. I’ll be back again soon to get my kimchi fix.

Sorry about giving two stars only… This might be really good Korean in Ottawa. But after spoiled with the ones in Beijing and even Toronto… We are more picky… The bulgogi rice is too sticky. The gamja tang is really not special and I got two large chunk of bad potato in it… The side dishes also took too long to come.

My favourite Korean restaurant in Ottawa. The food is consistently good, the service very helpful and the place is always super tidy. I don’t know if they still do this cause I haven’t been in a while but they were the only place that served bulgogi and galbi(BBQ dishes) the Korean way with lettuce, veggies and ssamjang(hot sauce) to make wraps with. You also always get a wider selection of banchan(side dishes like kimchi, kaktugi, etc.) with your meal than their competition.

My girlfriend and I came here on February 22, 2012 because we tried going to another Korean restaurant but that one refused to serve us as they were closing soon. We passed by this place a bunch of times while going to Chinatown, but we didn’t want to try it out because there were no reviews of this place. But, let me be the first one to break the ice! So, we came here around 9PM and parked on the streets(they have a parking lot though) since it was right across the street from the restaurant. When we walked in, it was quite quiet, with only 2 other tables taken. We were seated promptly near a beautiful and huge Chinese mural/painting. After some debating, we ordered the Sliced Pork Tenderloin and a Seafood Platter for the Korean BBQ. I also ordered a miso soup just for the heck of it. The miso soup came after around 10 minutes(no idea why it took so long… usually it’s instant). Personally, I thought the soup was too salty, usually miso soup is kind of clear, but this one was very cloudy(my girlfriend thought it was too salty as well). Our food came out a bit after my soup and the server helped us pour everything into the BBQ and cook it. The banchan came out as well and I thought the kimchi was awesome, the best I’ve had! The other dishes were just okay. While the BBQ was cooking, the server was very observant and came back to check if the meat was cooking okay and if we were eating anything raw(good thing she did, I almost gave my GF a raw shrimp!). I thought the pork was a bit overcooked and didn’t have enough flavor. The seafood on the other hand was very delicious, it was juicy and the scallop tasted fresh! All in all, the Korean BBQ was fantastic. If you ever doubt a place with no reviews, just give it a shot! You’ll never know what a gem you’ll encounter. The service was impeccable; the hostess was very friendly and helpful. The food, if cooked right, was great, especially the seafood. If I were to come back, I would probably order the chicken instead of the pork, but the seafood is a MUST! This is a definite must go if you are craving for some Korean BBQ or maybe even some Korean food!
