Lots of products, good location, but not overly knowledgeable! I stopped by to get some spray paint for a project. I was very disappointed by their color selection in store vs their website. I asked a few question about application as I know from research that spray paint can be a complex project. It quickly became apparent that they didn’t know. He had never heard of self-etching primer, had no idea how much I would need for my project, didn’t know if I should use a primer or top coat. Anyway, everyone was nice and the store seems like they have lots of stuff, just do your own research before you go.

We went into the store to buy a lawnmower and price matched the lawnmower and were told it would be there 3 days from when we bought it as they had to assemble it still and then it could be delivered. Was called the following day to find out the charger for it does not work but it should only be a few days to get a new one. 2 and a half weeks later I get the lawnmower and it is dented and rusted out on all the metal parts. I call preston and they go well it is our last one so the best we can do is give you 20 bucks off which is just insulting at this point. We return it to the store and we find out oh ya it was a floor model from last year and it has been sitting outside for a whole year. Ok so you tried to pass off a rusted and dented mower as new and your fix is 20 bucks off… ya no thank you. I decided to make a better business complaint and their response was he knew it was a floor model(which we didn’t find out till we kept complaining) and we negotiated the price int he first place so we can’t do anything(it was a price match from another store not a negotiation). All and all this shows why all the local places are going out of business and soon it will just be box stores left. Either lying or being incompetent enough that they believe that shows me I never want to buy anything from them again. If I could return my BBQ I would… OH and they took about a month to respond to the Better Business complaint so don’t expect quick responses if you have any issues

This is my first bad review and, needless to say, I am really not impressed with Preston Hardware. I am currently doing two bathrooms in my house and been to Preston Hardware three times. Every time I went in to their show rooms not once had some one approached me to ask if I needed any help. I really think that this is a contractors store. I ask for help a few times only to get quick open closed answers. This store needs a lot of work on their staff quality services. I am 33 years old and bought an older house that needs a lot of up grading. Sure this store has top quality stuff and you will pay for it, but they did not get any of the $ 40000 that I spent on my two bathrooms.

Preston Hardware is a classic, i mean they sell everything — whether your a contractor, a diy’er, or a foodie… they have it. i also get a kick out of the huge pots they sell, noticed a pretty crazy line of meat giner, i swear one was attached to a 5 hp jet pump for a hot tub. However, we were on the hunt for bathroom options, and after doing the big box stores and a few spots in the west end, it was decided that we better go to Preston and see if they could come close to the pricing and options that we had already found. They have alot fo bling, bling, but surprisingly for me they had some very nice and competitve prices on a number of items. The young girl helping us was super helpful, and understood where we wanted to spend the money, and where we wanted to save money. Preston Hardware is a drive to destination. enjoy. 22 of 30

Preston is the best hardware store in town. Amazing selection of materials and hardware! Staff are ultra-helpful.
