Time Out Bar and Grill

Waited over an hour for our meal to arrive, they were apologetic and brought us free salsa and chips, but it’s happened twice so far
Slow service for average food at best

We have frequented this place quite a bit over the last few months. Both the food and the service are excellent. Even the pickiest eater I know loves the food! The manager always makes a point to say hello to us.
I recommend the seafood and anything else from the grill. The deep-​fried fish is really good too. The house salad and homemade potato chips are fantastic sides.

My partner and I decided to grab a bite here before our movie last weekend. And I have heard of people encountering unwilling and rude service staff, but I myself have never experienced it until last Friday night at Time Out. The hostess acted like we were interrupting her — just the two of us in a fairly empty restaurant — that she was doing us a huge favour by seating us. I honestly can’t describe how disrespectful and bad-​tempered she was in such a short interaction.
But hey — that’s just one employee, right? Might as well try the food. Our waitress was new, and polite. No complaints there. The food however, was mediocre at best. Costco-​like buns, bland burgers and bitter greens in the salad. I would not recommend this place.

Unfortunately I didn’t have the best experience here, but to be fair, there was a fairly large group of us, and I’m pretty sure they were understaffed.
We came by after the MS Walk for brunch, and I was happy to see they served breakfast until noon. We had to wait a significant amount of time for our drink orders (all coffee and water), but ti was probably a good thing since I was so hungry it took awhile to decide what to get. In the end Noah K and I decided to split the french toast and the breakfast poutine.
Our dishes all came out at random times, which is one thing I hate, especially when everyone was so hungry. People had literally finished their meals before some of the other came out. Our french toast came out first and it was positively DELICIOUS. Some of the best French toast I’ve ever had. Perfect French bread with cinnamon and maple syrup deliciousness. Unfortunately, sharing this with a very hungry boyfriend meant I only got a few bites. I was super excited for my breakfast poutine, but this was a huge fail. Even though it was the last dish to be brought out, the potatoes were undercooked and many of them were still hard. The didn’t use cheese curds, but shredded mozzarella which was a bit of a let down. The hollandaise was delish, but couldn’t save this dish.
I could see this being a fantastic spot to hang out for a game. There’s tons of big screens and seating, and a big bar in the back. Unfortunately, they fell flat on breakfast, and I likely won’t be back anytime soon.

My fiancé and I have been frequenting this place for karaōke on Thursday nights and we love it. The food is always excellent. We’ve had food from all parts of the menu. My personal favourite is the Cheese Sticks. Instead of being breaded, they’re made in a spring roll type wrapper and although the menu says spicy havarti, it really isn’t spicy, which is good for me since I’m not a spice person.
The only issue is that they tend to be way understaffed on the restaurant side for karaōke. There is usually one waiter, and while he is very good, serving 30 – 50 people by yourself all night can be pretty difficult.

I have to update my review on the restaurant. The first time I went I had a very nice experience but the second visit was a bit of a nightmare. The service was horrible as the waiter did not seem to care at all about our table. He seemed to constantly forget that we ordered drinks and took 15 – 20 minutes to deliver some of our drinks when the restaurant was not busy. The food was nowhere as good as it was the first time I went. I was very disappointed with the second visit and do not plan on returning.

Our server (owner?) was great about rushing out our food. Potato skins, poutine and ceaser salad were all fresh ingredients & perfectly cooked/​prepared. It was pretty delicious!
it was a very quiet Sunday evening and no other customers.

My friends and I had a wonderful breakfast the other day. They catered to all our allergies and the food was delicious. My French toast was a little soggy in the middle but everything else was great. I had also been there earlier in the week for lunch and the food and service was excellent! I highly recommend this restaurant.

I don’t even know where to begin with this review update. There’s so much to say!
I was given the opportunity to have a second chance to experience Time Out by the owner, JD, and I must say, my opinion has completely changed. The service was fantastic, I believe my server was Holly. She was very knowledgeable and made great suggestions! We were really lucky to have her!
We went in this past Saturday night and I was so pleased! The food was great, they even had a great gluten free beer! It was my first time trying New Grist but I loved it! It’s similar to a Canadian!
My overall experience was incredible, I am excited to go back! What I like about this place is that they’re eager to rectify mistakes and make customers into regulars, which makes them money and makes the atmosphere nice and comfortable! I find it difficult to find establishments that focus on retaining customers versus being better for the next one. Absolute thumbs up to JD and the staff at Time Out!
I had the lobster with a garden salad. It was really well cooked and presented! My friend (the same friend that was with me the first time) had the quesadilla and miller beer sampler.
I couldn’t have any but she was really happy with it. 5+ stars, I’m pretty sure this is my new place to go!
In conclusion, not every server is great, not every server is having a great day. Not everyone has the best experience every time but I could not be more impressed with JD, Time Out and the way they handled a negative customer experience. Time Out is definetly a place I would recommend!

Amazing burgers! Had an awesome burger called the five-​o burger! Had a juicy beef patty topped with BBQ pulled pork! Was amazing! Also Love having a personal tv in my booth too! Great for when I go out with my friends and we wanna watch the hockey game! Also thinking of having my kids soccer team sponsored by time out!
Definitely some good changes going on at time out bar and grill!
