Ashburnham Ale House

This place is a favorite among my friends. I actually crave their fish tacos… served in a soft shell with your choice of sides, these tacos are filled with lightly coated baked fish, a variety of fresh veggies, sweet salsa, spicy sauce and cheese. I’ve tried to duplicate their recipe but it is one of a kind. Amazing!

Great service, really good food and excellent beer selection. Pleasantly surprised. We will be back.

Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here. Ribs for me and pulled pork Sammie for her. The fries are outstanding and the curry sauce reminded us of Belgium. Great beer selection from across the province.
This is definitely one of the great choices on the region. We brought our little one (15 months) lot for him to look at, high chairs, and friendly staff.

The food there was amazing. We got two vegetarian options in the God’s black bean burrito with the side of house fries and curry mayo along with the Roasty veg sandwich with a side of the soup. IT WAS SO DELICIOUS and the service was great! They even accepted US dollars.
Also we sat outside and i feel like it’s a nice place to take someone special on a date.

Attend here often. Friendly staff and a great selection of beer that changes often. Food has always been delicious.

Waitstaff was very friendly and food was delicious (I had the hot pot and a weissbier). Nice atmosphere and overall good experience.

One of the best restaurants in Peterborough, hands down. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff made it that much better. I have been several times and will continue to go back. A new favourite is The Basa, a delicious spiced fish wrap, with Mango salsa and grilled to perfection. Make sure you order the fries too, bar none they are the best I’ve had, anywhere, ever. If you love great beer they have a very nice selection. It is very well priced, very well managed. I can’t wait to go back again!

Excellent food and a great selection of beer– I recommend asking about the rotational taps as they almost always have something totally new. Staff has always been helpful and pleasant, the portions are huge and attractively presented.
They’ve done some pretty cool stuff with the building as well– definitely a nice spot for dinner or even to just stop in for a quick pint.

Came in by myself after shopping next door at Sobey’s thought I would try their beer. Staff completely inattentive I seated myself and waited about ten minutes for the waitress to finish chatting with the bartender. Beer was nothing to right home about. On par with a Sleeman’s cream ale. I won’t be going back.

Ashburnham Ale House is a welcomed neighbourhood pub located on Hunter St. East in East City.
The pub-​style atmosphere is good for casual dining. There is a large bar area with a couple of chairs in front of a real, wood-​burning fireplace which is very cozy in the winter. There is a main dining area up front and separate dining room off of that for private functions and overflow seating. Recently installed sound-​dampening panels cut down on the noise considerably!
In the warmer months, the Ale House has three patios. Picnic table seating greets you on the entrance patio, smaller tables and chairs run along the street-​side patio, and 3 individual covered patios off the bar area are situated along the Rotary Trail.
The menu is casual contemporary pub fare. A cone of fries with dipping sauce or bruschetta are our choices for sharing. For mains, our picks are individual pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, house-​made soups, and fresh salads. There are daily specials and home-​made desserts, as well.
The beer selection is excellent featuring craft brews and beers brewed at the Olde Stone Brewing Co., downtown, including a rotating cask conditioned tap.
This is a good spot to meet friends for a few beers and bites, pop in with the kids, or grab lunch.
