Gilnetter Pub

The atmosphere of the place was great, considering it was a Saturday night, the food was prompt and quite good (definitely recommend the crab cakes!). In spite of being quite busy, we were seated within 5 minutes of entering the pub. The layout of the place is refreshing and cozy. The live music was an excellent touch to the atmosphere. Sadly, despite how great the place and food itself was, the overall experience was ruined by our waitress.
The entirety of our dinner was uncomfortable, frustrating, and rushed. Before we were even seated, she said loudly to the manager, to not double seat her area. While handing us a menu she was still complaining to the table next to us about getting double seated– without even greeting us. We had asked for a beer list upon being seated, which we never received– to which my date had to go up to the bar and ask for one. Every interaction we had with her made us feel like an inconvenience and that we were in the way. Majority of the time we didn’t finish a sentence before she whipped around to help another table or scurry off. Upon our arrival, we understood that it was busy and didn’t expect receive prompt service. Yet all she did was complain in front of us to other waitresses and customers, and never explained the situation to us. We would have been happy with slow but courteous service, even a «sorry we’re busy, I got double seated but I’ll do my best». We tried to give her the benefit of the doubt since it was busy at first and even wanted to tell her not to feel rushed (we never got the chance since she was always running off), yet nearing the end of our dinner, the restaurant had died down significantly– but her attitude didn’t change.
The busser that brought us the food and the other waitresses in the restaurant were extremely courteous and great. We briefly spoke to manager when leaving and he was extremely receptive to our concerns and even offered coupons for our next visit, but we were from out of town and didn’t see the need. Overall I would recommend this pub, just steer clear of this particular staff member

The buffet at this pub was amazing! So much selection and a good value. We keep coming back for more and more … lots of fresh fruits, an omlette and ham carving station, all the works! Will definitely add to my regular list of places to visit.

It isn’t haute cuisine, nouvelle cuisine, or cuisine classique, and aspires to none of these things.
It does, however, deliver the goods advertised, and does so supremely well.
Service was flawless, and the food was well prepared.

Took our walking club there again today. Excellent service, good food. Staff were helpful & pleasant.

Went here for dinner and ordered the moules & frites, dungeons crab and shrimp croissant sandwich with soup of the day. Our food was both very good and tasty. My only complaint was that the soup serving was quite small and left me a bit hungry still. I think going forward, I’ll choose just the regular or yam fries. Also, we had ordered a starter which was the seafood artichoke dip, but our server forgot to order it. She was very nice but minus 1 star due to forgetting to put the order in, but still leaving it on our bill which we had to ask to remove.
