We went for a birthday dinner on Saturday night and were terribly dissapointed. although the waiter was good and felt terrible the food quality was poor for the prices they charge. our dinner took over 2 hours. they did discount our bill by 15% but we wont be heading back anytime soon. For the money there are numerous other restaurants far better.

I recently went to the Redstone with my girlfriend for an anniversary dinner, it was our first time there and I would highly recommend it to anybody. The food was absolutely amazing, the staff was very polite and courteous. It was a beautiful environment to share our night and out of 5 it’s an easy 5. The price was a little high, but it was very acceptible for the size of the portions and great service!

We had the most magnificent dinner here. The steak was cut with fork tender and soo yummy and the Atlantic lobster was perfect. The service was right on and wine was chilled to perfection. Will definitely dine here again when I’m in town!

What a surprising gem! We came up to have dinner with two other couples and the meal was fantastic all the way around. The best Caesar salad I’ve ever had, service and wine was also great! Next time we are back in Red Deer we will be back.

When you look for fine dining in Red Deer, the pickings in this city tend to be sparse and Redstone is the place that leads the pack. There is nothing more discouraging than going to a restaurant and unable to make a menu decision because every item looks like the same old dish that every other uninspired restaurant serves. Very fortunately, at the Redstone, the menu is updated, sophisticated and interesting, so my experience is the opposite — hard to make decisions because the dishes are intriguing. It means if your menu choice is delicious, you’re bound to come back to try something else. Taste wise, the food was tasty. Our array of appetizers were decent(we were a group of four). My panko crusted calamari was ok, but was nothing special. The meat was properly cooked, but I found the coating was what made it seem slightly overdone. The sesame shrimp were good and so were the panfried scallops(not on the menu but available upon request), however the clear winner was the bruschetta topped with duck and brie was the clear winner. For the main course, us women ordered the lobster risotto and the men ordered the lamb with a side of lobster risotto. So the lobster risotto, since we all had it, is tasty and something different from the typical steak and lobster tail meal that seems to be typical. I found that it wasn’t creamy like I expect risotto to be, but it was cheesy and the aborio rice was not underdone. most importantly, the amount of lobster in the dish was fairly decent. The lamb… oh delish! My bite from my husband’s dish was Well cooked, tasty and tender. Next visit, that will be the dish to order. We were seated in the bar and happily dined to the in-house live music, who I will add we’re quite good. It seems that they have live music every Saturday. Yep. Good place. Best in Red Deer.
