I wish there was a minus sign somewhere. My wife and I were looking for a place to just hang out have some coffee or tea and some sweets. We decided to go to this place. Literally got served Luke warm faucet water. You can taste when it is tap water and boiled water. After the exquisite luke warm tap water. We sat there for about 20 minutes as our tap water was getting cold and never received assistance. I felt very uncomfortable and very unwelcome. We decided to leave this dreaded placed, without even seen a waiter or waitress.

Came here twice so far from just finding this place out on Unilocal. This place is probably one of the better Taiwanese bubble tea places to go to for food and drinks. The drinks are pretty large for a good price. They give you alot to drink and probably still some remaining. Both times when I went was once for Lunch and once for dinner. Both times there weren’t too many people inside and the service was very fast and the workers were all very nice and helpful. No issues with the service. 5 stars for the service. I had ordered the popcorn chicken and rice and I really like the chicken. The breading and spices were nicely coated and it wasn’t too salty. Crunch-factor was crispy and not too overpowered by the breading. The lychee jello which was included with the meal was very tasty too. Overall that dish was quite delicious and one of my favorite popcorn chicken dishes. The other time I came I ordered the ‘House special dry noodles.’ This item after trying it, I was a bit disappointed as there’s nothing ‘Special’ about it. And definitely the noodles weren’t dry either. The portion wasn’t that big and overall it just lacked anything, again ‘Special’ about the entire dish. 5⁄5 for service 3.5 for food Good place for drinks and the popcorn chicken and rice but not too much for the noodles.

We called to make a reservation for a large group, the person on the phone replied«okay we will save a table if there isn’t too many people here.» What’s the point of making a reservation? Upon arrival, we weren’t greeted and the server placed menus on a table without asking us how many people we had and expected us to sit. I let him know that we called earlier for a larger group and he replied«do you want to sit here where the tables are split. Or do you want to sit over there where the tables are together?» This question was pointless, as it was obvious that a group would want to sit together. Our orders were mixed up, hot drinks became cold drinks, orders were missing, and things we didnt order were brought. The server came over and asked what we wanted in the rudest tone ever! The server came with the food and just shoved it to whatever open spot there were and left. I am very disappointed with the service received here.

I saw this reviewed on the front page of Unilocal on September 4th and decided to book mark it for future reference. They don’t post their hours of operation on this page, therefore, it was hard to cordinate. I didn’t experience the full menu as I wish that I had, however, I did try the popcorn chicken and some bubble tea = awesome. Prices were very reasonable. There is a lack of ambiance and it doesn’t look like much from the outside, however, the food was good. Lots of menu selections.

Ordered the popcorn chicken, noodles in soup, and honey green tea with pearls. Popcorn chicken was quite disappointing. Very few pieces of meat and mostly just fried fat and skin. Considering the $ 10 I paid for this dish, this is unacceptable. Noodles in soup were lovely. The texture was perfect. A nice chewiness in every bite. Honey green tea with pearls was amazingly good considering the $ 4.75 price. Maybe it’s because I’ve never tasted honey-sweetened bubble tea, but it had this lovely flowery aroma to it with every sip. Truly the best part of the meal. All in all, go for the bubble tea, and nothing else.

Came here three days ago for dinner. Never noticed this place before despite being at many of the other stores in the complex. Probably because it’s somewhat hidden in a corner. Anyway I had the Popcorn Chicken meal which came with rice, dessert, and three small sides. I actually thought it was pretty good and is on par or better than other Taiwanese restaurants that offer something similar. Also had the strawberry slush with pearls to go with my meal. It looked like they might have used real strawberries cause I did notice some seeds. Pearls were decent and were soft and chewy. Service can be a hit or miss. I was promptly seated, but no idea where they disappear to other times. I would still come back.

I really liked this place, the food menu is pretty cheap and the 3 boys there have pretty good customer service and do not act rude. The presentation of food is nice too and I like the candles they light under your hot desserts and hot tea. The food is average to decent. Just know that there is a $ 4.50 minimum per person charge, so if you’re looking to have a budget eat(eg split a hot tea between 2 people, that’s not going to work here). Most bubble tea restaurants have a minimum charge anyway. We got the Rose Fruit Tea, which was not too sweet and had a subtle herbal taste. I liked it since most bubble tea places serve super sweet fruit teas that end up tasting like juice. We also ordered a taro red bean dessert — it was quite a large size and very filling! I’m seeing that most people are saying the popcorn chicken here is great… so I’ll definitely come back and order the popcorn chicken.

My husband likes the popcorn chicken here. I say its ok — sometimes, it tastes a lot like pork. Food is average, what you’d expect from a bubble tea place. Overall, the atmosphere is fine — clean, bright, soft music playing. Three stars that and for their mediocre to average tasting and quality of food, and minus one star for their service — it is much too relaxed here. Every time I’ve been here, I’ve had to wave them over or get up to give them my order or request something. I also hate that the water they serve is tepid and lukewarm — that is just so gross to me. Cash only, conveniently located next to Pricesmart in a big parking lot where you may or may not have to fight for a parking spot.

If you’re looking for popcorn chicken, this place has the best. No wonder why everyone is ordering it. I’ve tried it at many other places but i always find myself coming back to here.

I remember coming here back when I was in university. It’s somewhat different now, in that all the LCD menu screens are taken down. I waited around 15 minutes for my Hokkaido milk hot pot(北海道牛奶鍋). The service wasn’t stellar, but I’ve got nothing to complain about, except the waitress wasn’t very knowledgable. Regardless, my hot pot wasn’t half bad. I wish the pork was a little less porky flavoured though. There’s shrimps, various fish cakes, lettuce, pork slices, leek and milk in my Hokkaido milk hot pot :) Note: it would have been nice if they have me a plate for my shrimps shells :) just a thought…

Heard about the pork hock noodle soup being quite impressive. Came by around 3pm and ordered the pork hock noodle soup and the milk soup hot pot. Both were $ 9.95 each. Surprised by the amount of pork hock provided as it alone filled up more than half of the bowl. They were very good, tasty and succulent. The milk soup hot pork also had quite a bit of meat in it. Overall food was pretty good. Not much in terms of service. Ample parking as it’s located in the same area as price mart supermarket. Andy Richmond bc

Yum Tri-ty is my go-to whenever I feel like taiwanese popcorn chicken!(the official translation is something like… salty peppery fried chicken I think) Anyways, I came here for a quick lunch and I had the honey salty peppery fried chicken with rice. As usual, taiwanese meals with rice will come with random side dishes. I really like the celery but I prefer the side dishes at Memory corner(really delicious beans and egg tomato) My friend got the kimchi hotpot, which he described as too watery but still good. We both enjoyed the lemon jello like dessert and overall, the meal was of good value!

More than decent place to get bbt if you want to avoid the Alderbridge dizzying array of bbt’s lined up, or if you’re here shopping at Pice Smart or the Liquor store. Extra star for the prestigious VIP booth seating, the only one at the front, literally a U-shape so better have lots of friends coming here to get this spot. Nice beige upholstery too. Known for their marinated pig knuckles believe it or not lol. Free parking.

Based on the bubble tea alone, i give this cute restaurant a well deserved four stars! They give you ample amounts of boba(which i cannot complain about) but the one catch is that they were a bit clumpy. I recommend the milk tea to those who want to stick to a more traditional flavor.

Quality and quantity has really gone down with Tri-ty. Used to come here ALL the time for the beef noodle soup(usually spicy) and the Taiwanese Chicken Nuggets. The nuggets had great flavor and just the right amount of seasoning. The soup was well done, with great quality meat and noodles not over cooked. Picked up my «regular» meal yesterday and while the noodles were still perfect, the soup wasn’t spicy at all anymore, there was a lot more fat in the meat(but what meat there was, was still good quality), and the portion size for the nuggets was almost half of what it used to be. Really a shame considering how good they used to be. Guess I’ll have to find a new regular noodle place.

Tri-Ty is a Taiwanese bubble tea restaurant on Ackroyd Road near the central Richmond liquor store. Their bubble teas and desserts are fairly good but today we opted for lunch only since we were on our lunch breaks. The menu is the same all day and most drinks range from $ 4.00-$ 5.00 while the majority of the meals are $ 8.50. The restaurant itself is designed quite nicely for an inexpensive bubble tea joint but we found the temperature a bit chilly. Honey Crispy Chicken Nugget on Rice — $ 8.50(6⁄7) This dish is actually Taiwanese style deep fried chicken nuggets with a sweet honey glaze. Tri-Ty is the only place that makes this dish(we have yet to come across any other restaurants with it) so we always end up ordering this whenever we eat here! The sweet sauce perfectly complements the crispy outer shell and as you bite into the meat, you can really start to appreciate the well thought combination of texture and taste. The meal comes with a bowl of rice, three appetizers(mildly spicy fried tofu, green beans, Chinese tomato & egg), and a mango pudding! The appetizers were delicious while the mango pudding was a bit disappointing.(However, it had a dolphin shape!) Spareribs Noodle Soup — $ 8.50(4.5÷7) This was an average noodle soup. There’s nothing much to say about it! The picture is of the dish without any bean sprouts(which were removed by request). The noodles are fairly tasty but the broth wasn’t flavorful enough. The meat was just okay while the other various veggies tasted bland. Ratings: Food: 5⁄7 Value: 5.5÷7 Service: 5⁄7

I’ve been on a beef noodle and bubble tea spree as of late. However, I hadn’t returned to my de facto Taiwanese café of Tri-ty in a while. I basically always get the same things and this time was no different. I needed to cool off from the heatwave outside and ordered a mango ice cream slush. I always love the scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. It makes everything better. Janice got a half-sweetened jasmine milk tea with pearls. It was a little too frothy and bland for my taste. I forgot how much I loved the house special spicy beef noodles here. The soup was flavourful and mighty tasty with the right amount of spice. I drank it all up despite the heat outside. Surprisingly good. I was, however, very disappointed by other staple of tomato fried rice wrapped in an egg with a fried chicken cutlet. The chicken was good but the rice was day old and clumpy. I’ve ordered this a bunch of times and this is the only time its been so under par. Despite the rice setback, I still think Tri-ty is always a solid pick for Taiwanese food and drink. I love their selection of ice cold slushes and ice cream drinks. Make sure to do yourself a favour and get the house special spicy beef noodles.

Sometimes I beat myself for repeating certain places that are not very good. Take Tri-Ty Café for example, their food is very mediocre and the drinks are not very consistent. The prices are not very fair for the quality received. The place is run down — there are holes on the walls, paint chips, and slow service. Yet above all that, when other tried and true places are either too busy, closed or not conveniently located because of hunger pains or pure laziness … we return to Tri-Ty. Their menu has been updated and it appears there are more selection. But I find there is a sly/sneakiness aspect to the presentation. There are no prices listed anywhere on the menu. They entice you with pictures first(smart move on their part) then you check the order slip where the prices are listed. Deeply saddened by what was presented. Fried Rice Omelette with Deep Fried Chicken Cutlet(tomato /curry sauce) Mediocre rice with an egg wrap fried rice. The curry sauce on the side was cold and gloopy. I wish they’d at least nuked the sauce a little. The chicken stripes were alright, nothing special tho. Oyster Omelette This is not what a traditional oyster omelette would look or taste like. It is dry and very blend. There again was a cold somewhat spicy tomato paste for spreading? Dipping? Three Spiced Chicken with Rice Salty. Beyond the saltiness I could not taste the spices used to «marinate» the chicken. Shaved Ice with your choices or items(red bean, taro, tapioca, mocha, etc). Ice plate with toppings. The warmth of the red bean will melt your ice turning it into a soup like mixture shortly. Slush Pineapple — tasteless. It was not very sweet and I guess pineapples or pineapple juices are not a high priced commodity. Passionfruit I see that they had chocolate cookies and Godiva chocolate slushes also. They looked pretty good on the menu. I wonder how they taste like in real life… Anyone care to let me know please? At the end of the day, I’ve been here multiple times spread over the years and I think it’s just been getting worse. Believe they’ve changed owners too… but nothing really has changed. I strongly believe you will be better served at Leisure, Pearl Castle, Well Tea.

First visit: I thought I read«matcha» and red bean milky tea, but neither the flavour nor colour looked matcha enough. More like regular green tea. It was good, though, not overly sweet. The lady thought to ask me if I wanted hot or cold, which was nice, since I don’t do bubble tea enough to remember that there is a hot option. The coconut jelly came on the side. I guessed that I’m supposed to put it in the tea little by little, so that they don’t all melt. Second visit: Taro Milk tea(cold, no pearls or coconut jelly) was good! I wasn’t as impressed with the meal, though. The«om-rice»(I forget what they called it here, but fried rice inside a omelet), was OK, but the curry sauce was not. The first few slices of the fried chicken was good, but it got greasy very quickly. I think my favourite things were the pickly side dishes. Not a good sign. The service is slow, as most reviewers have mentioned. I ended up walking to the counter to pay, though I’m not sure if that’s their plan, or they would bring you the cheque if they notice. On the other hand, maybe you can get away with studying there for a long time. Hotel-class décor, fast food-class maintenance. This is noticeable in the actual holes-in-the-walls that haven’t been fixed, and especially in the washroom, where the edges of the floors are black from amateur mopping. CASHONLY.

I’ll start off by saying that the food wasn’t bad. Not great, but not bad. There are much better restaurants in the area though. We tried to alter a menu item slightly and the waiter became flustered and said it wasn’t possible. We just wanted chicken and fried rice instead of chicken and regular rice. How hard could that have been? We were willing to pay extra for it. And when we asked for drinks the waiter said, «We don’t have that» and then nervously wandered off. There were nicks and divots in all of the walls. The décor made it seem like they were moving out — there were several empty hooks on the walls. The bathroom was awful. And sometimes I gauge the kitchen cleanliness by the bathroom cleanliness. It makes sense: if they neglect the bathroom(which is seen by many customers) think about how bad the kitchen is(since no customers see the kitchen). Very dirty bathroom. Filthy, even though the log on the door said the bathroom had been serviced recently. The toilet wasn’t secured to the floor. No toilet paper and no spare paper. No paper towels either — not even a paper towel dispenser. The garbage can was in front of the sink. Let me repeat that: the garbage can was in front of the sink. Ick.
