I love this place. I took my wife there for our anniversary. I had the hazelnut chicken and she had grilled salmon with Cajun sauce. We had mussels and baked Brie for appetizers and it was awesome. That with 2 glasses of wine came to 96 $. For the quality and service it was worth it

Terrific lunch! Wine was exceptional and at a great price! My husband had the meatloaf and I had the fish stew; both lovely! My only criticism was the toasted bread was a bit too smoky. Otherwise a real gem.

I really enjoyed Get Stuffed but I think the name lets it down a bit. You get really good refined food, but to me the name evokes a buffet or some kind of highway greasy spoon. In addition to the great food the service was good, and the cocktails were great.

To be honest we were really looking forward to trying Get Stuffed after reading the glowing reviews. The service couldn’t be faulted. Staff were extremely helpful, friendly and attentive. The restaurant on two floors was cosy and clean. I found the food a little lacking. It want bad, just compared to some other places we ate at in St Johns it just didn’t make the grade. Portions were quite small too although the have the option in the menu to ‘get stuffed’ effectively doubling your portion. I can kind of see why now. I had the duck which was nice(but small) and my wife had a the house pasta which was delicious.

Great food, but we didn’t get stuffed at all! And we ordered«get stuffed» portions! The place is very good for a romantic dinner.

Market Fresh Mixed Greens and Brie(2x) Fish soup Pasta Special A very cosy spot. Staff were friendly, even though there was some miscommunication on my order(they comt’d my salad because of it), we enjoyed our meal. We make e better salad at home, the pasta was okay but nothing special, but the Fish Soup was awesome. I will Be back.

Service was great, food was delicious! Don’t be in a rush. Sweet potato purée was delicious, so was pork tenderloin! We are from away but will go again if we get the chance!

My wife and I thought that Get Stuffed was outstanding. Saw the Unilocal recommendations and decided to try lunch here. We’re not natives — my wife and I are living in Virginia, though she’s born in Newfoundland. Get Stuffed is a foodie’s restaurant with dishes like an excellent Seafood Stew with pernod and spices brightening up the sauce. They have 9 ways to eat salmon, which I had — also great. My wife and I shared two sides including a lovely root veggie mash — with parsnips, turnips, carrots and sweet potatoes that was a slightly sweet distinct delight. The green beans wrapped tightly with smoked bacon were crisp and were so well prepared(looked like tied sticks) that you could pick them up and eat them — which we did. Then for dessert both of us had a crème brûlée that incorporated dark rum and blackstrap molasses and came with three small home made chocolate truffles — all of which were no more or less than a wow. The truffles were fresh since they were made with real dark chocolate, homemade whipping cream and a dusting of cocoa(unsweetened). All in all an awesome dining experience with excellent low key service. A shout out on that one to Courtney.

Good take on simple ideas. Good vege options. Good Mac n cheese. A la carte sides are great.

My wife and I have now eaten at Get Stuffed for both lunch and supper. The lunch was very good, we both loved the fried pickle that came with the sandwiches. Supper was also good, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as lunch. I like the idea of the a la carte menu, ordering sides to share, instead of getting a side with each meal. I think they should put fries(other than sweet-potato) on the sides menu though. The dessert we had with supper was amazing, and made fresh, on-site. Also, as a side note, they have the best music of any restaurant we’ve been to in St. John’s, since the staff all bring in their iPods and hook up whichever one has the best music.

Any place where you can add a hot dog to your meal for a dollar is my kind of place! Seriously though, Get Stuffed is one of my favourite places to eat in St. John’s. It’s hard to steer me away from the scoobi-doo pasta and cheese because I am a sucker for comfort food(which you can add broccoli and prosciutto too… decadent!). Truth is, most of the menu is comfort food! The atmosphere is cozy and quiet and the service is fantastic. Don’t let the«add a hot dog» fool you, this place is seriously good food and you leave STUFFED.

So I was here with a friend not too long ago, and it was a place I wanted to try, for the longest while. We went, and we weren’t disappointed. It was a cold evening, coldest it’s been this winter, we stepped inside and placed our coats on the coat hooks(A plus). We were seated by the window by the hostess, who was very polite and enthusiastic. The portable heater was on bust because this building is very old, probably one of the Heritage buildings, so it made sense that a heater was there. Anyways on to the food. Wine list was comprehensive, we weren’t looking for anything specific, but a bottle of pinot noir goes well with most, so we order one. We fiddled a bit with the menu, and laughed at the $ 1 hot dog side; the waitress told us that she had a group of lunch time meeting men order a round of hot dogs for the table one time. After fully reviewing the menu we chose the blackened salmon, bacon wrapped scallops with a cherry reduction, and this grilled shrimp dish. The salmon was excellent, the sauce had a hint of curry, but it was not overwhelming like the REAL curry deal. The scallops we perfectly cooked, moist in the center, and falling apart, something I still have yet to master. The shrimp was good, perfectly done, and well plated. There was this black sauce used when it was plated. I have no idea was it was, maybe you readers should give it a try. It was a great time, great environment, and great service. Will return!
