This basement wine bar has a nice selection, sophisticated décor and interesting music. The service from the two at the bar was a little on the cool side but the recommended shiraz($ 8) was tasty and the cheese platter with three selections($ 10) was surprisingly good. Total with tax and tip was $ 34 and worth it.

before walking inside you are given a sence of reassurance of casual-ness with the outdoor patio. Décor both outside and is cute. Highly recommend this bar if you enjoy experimenting with new wines — they have an ample wine menu. Such a welcoming, cozy bar!

Great little bar tucked semi-underground on a narrow street. Love going there.

Its exactly what it says it is. Happinez is one of my favorite spots to frequent when visiting Saint John. With an ample wine menu and beguiling décor, its a place to get away and nourish the better things in life. Located just below street level, Happinez is just a few steps down to a cosy nest of brick walls, soothing colors and one hip seating arrangement. While there are tables and a snug booth towards the front, the back of the space is made up of one long couch, extending along the walls. This makes for an open, socially engaging atmosphere and some great conversation. You can almost always meet someone new. Saint John gets a bad rap sometimes. Happinez is one of the many treasures that prove beyond the stigma. Located Uptown, I’d recommend this spot to wine lovers and those looking for a little extra charm. Staff is friendly, informative and generally interesting folk. Happinez is a retreat to all things lovely and a spot to dive into a good glass.

Fab. Really nice décor, cute outdoor seating, excellent wine list, knowledgeable staff, and decently-priced. VERY highly recommended. I can’t wait until next summer when we go back!
