Very good Food! Nice for a quick, yet delicious lunch or dinner. I would recommend the food. However, sometimes the service isn’t that great.

It is a beautiful location. The staff is very friendly and it is very clean. The overall experience is like a famoso meets ikea but with much more underwhelming food. Based on the sandwich and pasta dishes we chose we would not come again.

Decent Caprese sandwich if a little pricey for what you get.

New in Sherwood Park. Good food but weird ordering system. The pastas were quite good and you could see the chicken and shrimp and spinach and their wraps and soup are tasty. Prices around $ 14 to $ 18. You enter and line up and look at a menu on the wall while people wait behind you, pressure. You order then they give you a number. Then you walk further and line up again to order your beverage and pay. Then you sit down and they bring the food and beverage to you. I guess you aren’t supposed to tip… I don’t know. Staff were pleasant. Ordering system is annoying but food is good. So squeezes out 4 stars.

Via Cibo — Tasty Italian food, less pricey and always busy during lunch hours. Order food over the counter and get a table to sit. They will bring food over to you. Had a chat with their manager once. He said they make everything from the scratch. I have tried their pasta’s.Fresh and tasty. Portion was filling. Yet to try their pizza’s. Service was fast and staffs were friendly. I will go back to try other items on their menu !

Went to via cibo for their soft opening. The experience was well executed. They were offering a limited menu of food and the staff were all in training so I hope to go back and get the full experience. That being said, I really enjoyed the pasta bowl that I got and my wife’s sandwich was amazing as well. The Italian soda my meal came with wasn’t very good, but I am usually just a water person so it may have been amazing Italian soda that was lost on me… so don’t take my word for it. The ordering process is done at the counter and then you sit down and wait for your food. This is a process that speeds things up a bit, but I prefer wait service. Overall a good experience that will bring me back.

What an amazing place! Not only is the food way beyond any other pasta place in Sherwood Park, but the service is fast and friendly. Every time I’ve been the owners are there and take the time to check in with you & see how every thing is going. Big plus for me, even my kids(7&4) LOVE it!

Love this place! Been here three times now. Love love love the rose shrimp and pasta. Every bite is delicious. The décor here is simple but nice. All the pizzas I’ve tried have been flavorful. The picante pizza is the perfect amount of spicy. The Stella and Nutella dessert was something different and I loved it paired with a latte. A suggestion: maybe don’t start sweeping and mopping while people are still eating

Two weeks ago, I was invited to Via Cibo’s grand opening. They come from the same Restaurant Group that brought The Burger’s Priest to Edmonton last March. They have locations in Toronto and Calgary, and are slowly expanding. It’s located right off Baseline Road, and there is ample amount of parking around the restaurant. It’s designed to be a face-pace and quick, without sacrificing quality. When you first walk into the restaurant, there are large boards with menu options. After placing your order, you’re given a number on a silver stand, then you proceed to order drinks, and then you place your number on your table and they’ll find you to serve you. Similar to the way that Tres Carnales works. The kitchen is open and visible from anywhere in the restaurant. We ordered a couple of lunch menus, and decided to get one pasta, and one pizza and went with the Gnocchi and the Prosciutto E Arugula Pizza. The interior is relatively nice and spacious. It was relatively quick, and our food came out nice and hot. The gnocchi comes with a Gorgonzola cream sauce, slow roasted tomatoes, pancetta, green onions, shaved grana padano cheese. I’ve had gnocchi a number of time, and I’ve found that restaurants can be relatively inconsistent with the texture of gnocchi. It often comes out overcooked or undercooked. That being said, the gnocchi at via cibo came out perfectly. It was nice a tender, but not mushy. The Gorgonzola cream sauce went really with with the Gnocchi. Out of our two items, this was by far my favourite. If you’re in the mood for one of their pastas, I definitely recommend this one. The Prosciutto E Arugula Pizza came out nice and hot as well. It comes with prociutto, arugula, fior di latte mozerella, slow roasted tomatoes, shaved grana padano cheese and a fig-infused balsamic reduction. The good: the crust was relatively good. It reminds me a little bit of the crust at Famoso a little bit. It held together nicely, and was easy to eat. As for the toppings, I found that the prosciutto was overwhelmingly salty. It was difficult to taste anything beyond this. If you isolated the fig-infused balsamic reduction, it does add a nice sweetness to the pizza, but difficult to taste among everything else. There was a generous amount of all of the toppings, which I liked, but it the prosciutto was a little bit much. I think I would have preferred a different pizza…

Neat little pasta/pizza place. Upon entering you select from starters, sandwiches, pizzas and pastas. You place your order at the first till and continue down the line past the open kitchen! Really neat to see you food prepared. At the second till you order your drinks and dessert(even gelato!) and pay. Choose a table(seating is tight!) and place the number you received on it. The order is brought to your table. Ordered the Lasagna and Pasta Al Ragu Ossobuco. Both had fantastic flavour, portion size was good and we really enjoyed it. Do NOT order the poutine — one slice of cheese is not enough. Can’t wait to head back and try the other dishes!

The Crave It Restaurant Group that brought Burger’s Priest to Edmonton in March has brought Via Cibo, an Italian fast-casual restaurant, to Sherwood Park. This is the third Via Cibo to open in Canada, with the other two locations being in Calgary and Toronto. The restaurant opened it’s doors on November 1st, and I had the opportunity to check it out on opening day. Via Cibo occupies a fairly large space off of the busy Baseline Road in a great location that is easily seen while driving by. The space is clean, modern, and designed to be a quick dining option. As you walk in, you’re greeted by the large menu boards behind the counters and a staff member at the register. After placing an order, you are given an order number and lead past the open kitchen to a beverage station before finding a seat in the restaurant. I love this self-lead form of service in casual restaurants, as each experience is tailored to your needs. Whether you’re in to grab a quick bite to eat, or planning to spend time sitting down for a longer meal, the servers are available when you need them, and they’re not rushing you with constant visits to the table either. To start off our meal we had an order of the Tuscan Fries($ 5) which are tossed with a mixture of rosemary, sea salt and truffle oil before being topped with a light shaving of Grana Padano Cheese. The fries were golden and crisp and the spicy garlic aioli gave the fries a nice punch. Although the rosemary tended to overpower the delicate truffle flavour with most bites, the fries were a nice little snack I would order again. Next to arrive at our table was the Broccolini and Sausage Penne($ 14) that was recommended to us. All pasta options on the menu(with exception of the gnocchi) can be served with your choice of penne or linguine, and gluten free options are available too. Pasta used at this location is brought in dry from Italy and cooked al dente. Our dish featured broccolini, house made Italian sausage and the pasta tossed in a chili garlic olive oil, tomato sauce and was topped with Grana Padano. The pasta had a good portion of toppings and was fairly portioned for the price. At Via Cibo all the sandwiches(there are 5 available) are constructed between housemade calabrese bread. We tried the Ossobuco Panino($ 14), because who can resist fall of the bone braised veal? The meat is combined with caramelized onions, arugula, provolone cheese and roasted garlic aioli. The sandwich may not look like much, but the tender meat was well seasoned and gave the sandwich a punch of flavour to contrast the sweet onions. The bread was soft, but I would have preferred for it to be slightly toasted for some added crunch. Last but not least came the Prosciutto E Arugula Pizza($ 15). Prosciutto and arugula are two of my favourite toppings on pizza, so I just had to order this one. Via Cibo uses prosciutto, arugula, Fior Di Latte, slow roasted tomatoes, Grana Padano and a fig-infused balsamic reduction on their version. While I didn’t like that the prosciutto on the pizza was cooked(I prefer mine just cured), there was a fair portion on the pizza along with the other ingredients. The crust to the pizza was thin, but held itself together well structurally, meaning that it didn’t fall apart or become mushy from the toppings. According to one of the operating partners, the staff are trained to place a majority of toppings towards the outside of the pizza so as not to put too much moisture or weight on the middle. So that’s the trick! The crust was evenly cooked with some blistering, and I would be open to trying some of the other options. When it comes to sweets, Via Cibo has brought Calgary’s Fiasco Gelato on board to offer 10 different gelato flavours to customers after their meals. Flavours will rotate from time to time, and it’s great to see that Via Cibo is supporting a great Albertan gelato maker! Via Cibo is a great addition to the lineup of dining options out in Sherwood Park, and I’m sure people are welcoming it with open arms! The service was friendly, food came out quickly, and the food was both tasty and affordable. Catering options are available too, so it will be a nice option to change up the usual office lunches! A second location is set to open soon in South Edmonton Common, but in the meantime, stop by the Sherwood Park location for a traditional piadina and a little taste of Italian street food.

My co-worker and I have been anxiously waiting for this to open since the signs went up a couple of months ago. It was well worth the wait! I’m really happy to have so many amazing lunch options in Sherwood Park these days and Via Cibo is a welcome addition. If you have been to D’Amore’s Mercato in Edmonton on 99 street, it is somewhat similar, but without the market. You order from the counter, pay, and then sit and wait for them to bring your order to you. I went in on November 3, 2015. It was their 3rd day being open and the staff were all incredibly friendly and knowledgeable on their offerings. They were great at answering our questions, and making suggestions. I went with the Prosciutto Piadina. A Piadina is a flatbread that is then folded — so you end up with a sandwich type, but without the heavy bread aspect(although they do have paninis as well if that’s more your style!). At $ 12, I thought it might be a little steep, but once I saw how much prosciutto was on there, I quickly changed my mind. The bread was soft, the meat was flavourful and the cheese was perfect. I have no complaints with this dish. My co-worker got the arugula salad and added steak. I was really impressed with how much steak was on there! She said it was tasty, but did wish that there were more roasted seasonal veggies included(we counted 3 or 4 pieces of roasted peppers). I’m really excited to try out more things on the menu! Honestly… I can’t wait to get back. The Tuscan fries are probably next on my list.
