I often stop at Walmart on the road to grab drinks and snacks for my trip. I bought $ 30 of drinks and snacks, and paid with $ 100US bill. Attendant tried to give me $ 35 and change in Candian dollars. When trying to explain she told me that the transaction was closed and she could not help me. I stood in line at customer service to do a refund to have the customer service try and give me $ 100 candian when the value was $ 133. I had to demand my 100 us bill returned. Shaddy. Careful is you are US, I suspect that this happens often. I would not expect this from Walmart, they usually run a tight ship.

I’m really really confused by this location. Especially after my experience here today. Sometimes I come here at lunch time if there weather isn’t great out but I want to go for a walk(super cool, I know). I don’t understand why new Wal Marts only have one entrance now… maybe it’s a smaller location, I don’t know. But when it’s raining, like today, it sucks to have to hoof across the whole parking lot to get in. No greeter today — seems odd for WalMart. As I’m browsing, a cashier comes on the intercom and says«Till 4 needs change please, as soon as possible». I giggled a little because you don’t hear that very often. A few minutes later, another employee goes on the intercom and calls for a CSM to somewhere or something and as soon as that announcement ended, the original cashier was back on the intercom«Till 4 is still waiting for change… I’m almost out!». There was clear frustration in her voice. Don’t misunderstand — I am not mocking this cashier by any means. But Wal Mart prides itself on Customer Service and training — and obviously missed something while training this cashier. I was surprised when she was able to make the second announcement — I would have thought that somebody would have rushed over to her after the first one to explain that that is not how to use the intercom. Anyway — I continued shopping. I’ve always found there to be much less stock at this location than at others(primarily south common). And it’s hard to find things here that you’ve seen at another location. After walking around for about 25 minutes, I remembered that I need some flour. So I picked it up and headed towards the express lane with my one item. There were only 2 people ahead of me. But once I got in line, I realized that while two tills had their lights on, there was actually only one cashier. The other till with it’s light on but no cashier? You guessed it… Till #4. Did she get fed up and go to find her own change? No idea. It took 7 minutes for me to get to the till(with only 2 people in front of me). I know it doesn’t seem like much. but 7 minutes is a bit much for the express line. And then as I was leaving, there was a line of us walking towards the exit and the automatic door wouldn’t open for us! Everyone kind of bumped into each other and looked confused. I couldn’t wait to get out of there and booked it over to the«in» door, which opened and I escaped.

A pretty decent Walmart by Walmart standards. The store has never been super busy when I go and there are almost enough cashiers working!(A real shocker, I know.) It’s a decent sized store, which means it’s got a better selection than the smaller chains. Which means more clearance deals! Woo hoo! The store has been a bit messy when I’ve gone in, but I honestly have very low standards when it comes to the good ‘ol Mart. It is a super center so there’s a grocery section. If you’re too lazy to buy food for dinner while grocery shopping, there’s a McDonald’s in store!

Walmart. What can I say? good ol’ Walmart. Home of the low prices and low service. We went through the express line with an item from clearance for The Spawn. The item rings through at $ 2 higher than it was supposed to. The Spawn is 8 years old and was spending his own money so we protested. The clerk got on the intercom and asked someone from toys to call her station. Of course, no one did so the clerk had a great idea to remedy the situation. «Why don’tcha jus’ go to the toy aisle and take a picture and bring it back for me?» Yeah, sure, I’ll just do your work for you. But what can I say? it is Walmart, so I did. Oh, the shame.
