Ordered a cake on Friday went to pick it up Sunday and it wasn’t even ready. On the top of the cake It appears to be a big piece of white chocolate that says happy birthday on it and the white chocolate piece doesn’t even stay on the cake. And to top it all off the writing for happy birthday is so sloppy. Not worth the amount I paid for this cake. Doesn’t look like this place got any better after new management.

Offer me ice cream and I’m all yours. Offer me fruit, nuts and candy pieces mixed in while I watch, and I’ll even wash windows!(Well, okay, probably not, but you get the idea!). Marble Slab ice cream is delicious, but of course the fun part is choosing what you want mixed in — getting real fruit is a treat that can’t be beat. Anything chocolate with raspberries is a sure winner, but kiddos are more likely to go for the multitude of candy available. I have to admit that gummy bears and ice cream pair surprisingly well! Seating is very limited, and because the store is small, noisy children will reverberate more than usual. Luckily eating ice cream lessens their need for talking, at least for a while. And is anything cuter than faces that have obviously been deliriously happy smearing chocolate from grin-edge to edge? Be aware they are pricey, so without a coupon, taking several children will amount to a bill larger than you might expect for a treat out, but the flavours make it totally adult-worthy.

Overpriced. I’d rather buy a box of Run ‘n Raisin from Safeway and eat away. But ice cream is always good, and if I get a 2-for-1 deal, I buy all I can. My favourites are Blueberry, Caramel and Rum. Sometimes the waffle cones can be underdone and taste like raw dough, overdone and brittle or if they run out of regular vanilla waffle cones and offer you an upgrade to a coated waffle cone, it will more likely than not be stale and smell of bad oil, because nobody buys those. The variety is small, both flavours and mixings. No Blueberry or Key Lime flavours, and no Blackberries for fruit mixing. It’s a nice quiet location and the staff is usually friendly.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!(I know, not original, but here you are still reading.) Marble Slab ice cream is top notch in my books. Yes it is a chain and yes everything is standardized but that is OKAY in this case. That means when I ask for birthday cake flavoured ice cream with skor bits mixed in I will get the exact same delectable taste in my mouth each and every time. The friendly staff in this location serve with a smile and effectively deal with a long line(including high energy children). I like that there is a frequent customer card(buy 5 ice creams get one free) because they are expensive. I guess the saying you get what you pay for is true! There is ample parking but limited seating. A downside about this location is that it is hard to get ice cream and go for a walk while you eat it because there isn’t anywhere to go except St. Albert trail or the bus terminal. No matter the occasion Marble Slab always fills the ice cream craving.

Yum yum yummy! Where else can you have fresh made ice cream mixed with toppings right before your eyes? The reason I love Marble Slab is because I am a big fan of fruit on my ice cream. Normally fruit would be frozen in your ice cream at say Baskin Robbins or the grocery store. But at Marble Slab they mix it in fresh! So raspberries retain their both their tartness & juiciness! For me this is great because my favorite concoction is Dark Chocolate ice cream with Raspberries & Almonds! My hubby’s favorite is definitely one you wouldn’t find in a grocery store! Birthday Cake ice cream with Blueberries & Skor pieces! Might sound a little weird — but it is delish! The prices are a little high — but for a specialty treat made just your way it’s worth every penny! They also do specialty cakes and cupcakes!!! Mmm… Mmm… Good!

Droooool… yum yum yummy is all I can say! A little pricey for frozen milk, but totally worth it! It is by far the best ice cream I have ever tasted! you can mix and match toppings(mix-ins) and ice cream. There are soooo many different flavors you can choose from, and if you can’t make up your mind they have a menu of ice cream&mix-in combinations.
