Ordered the banana bread French toast. Very decadent french toast! The included potatoes were also yummy but the maple butter was hard as a rock — wouldn’t even melt on the french toast(which was lukewarm). Snagged a bunch of sweet potato fries as well — I am convinced that no one makes them better than Original Joes. They are an absolute must!!! If I was just reviewing the fries, this would be a 5 star review. Tried a friend’s hummus — which was positively drowned in balsamic vinegar. Would never order that myself as you couldn’t really taste the hummus. Service was good. Water refilled when I needed it. :)

We went here for lunch. I had two appetizers: the hummus with balsamic vinegar and naan bread and the sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were wonderful and would definitely order again. The hummus, however, was drowning in balsamic vinegar and completely masked the flavour of the hummus. While I like this combination, in the future I will ask them to reduce the amount of balsamic at the time I order. The service was very good.

Usually, a go to place for our family/friends, but today our little dog of 15 years dies, we come from the vet & we’re all in need of a drink afterwards but myself and my daughter have forgotten our ID, my wife tells our waitress the story-& in our waitress’s infinite sympathy tells us that we can’t even sit in the place without ID or they could be fined $ 10,000. There’s a time for policies, and a time for a little compassion. My daughter is 23, & I’m 47, but must look 17. They’re apparently too busy that they can throw away our business on fears of this magical no ID fine. Not coming back– ever. Thanks for turning a bad day into something even worse OJ’s.

Hot fast plentiful and good couldn’t see this place from the highway. Found it and like MacArthur I shall return pretty quiet place for a Sunday evening. That’s ok. Great food

Food is amazing here. Everything is made from scratch(including their nachos). My wife used to work there and we still love going because we know that the food is always fresh and amazing.

I visited Original Joe’s this evening and was pleasantly surprised by their location in St. Albert. It’s well decorated and has a comfortable feel to the room. I enjoyed the French Onion Boar Burger immensely; however, I found that the service was lacking. The servers spent way too long chatting with their regulars and as a result I wound up waiting for what seemed like forever to get re-fills on my drinks and my bill.

Great wings and cold, cold beer. Exceptionally good burgers and the dill dip for the fries is heaven. Before I had a baby I thought that the best thing about this place was that kids weren’t allowed now I stand outside in the rain with my stroller, tears running down my cheek…

A large group of us had a going away party for a coworker and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. The service was great. Friendly server and the food was hot and delicious. I’m not a fan of Original Joe’s but you’ve converted me. At least to your location!

I like Original Joes but just not the calories! Awe who am I kidding that’s what makes it all so good! Anyway score could have been higher if service was a bit more attentive. She was friendly enough today but never saw her again after she asked if my food was ok. Could have used a drink refill and the bill. After a long wait in a not so busy afternoon crown I had the bartender help me out. As for the food it was decent and as you may or may not know I have been trying burgers all over the place lately. So I opted for the Kona burger(I usually have a sirloin steak salad so good). Burger arrived nicely plated and for my two sides I had a side salad(I would have packed it up to go as I did not touch it but as mentioned earlier no server to get a to go container. Hate waste grrr) and french fries with gravy. Gravy is subtle but good and fries were semi crispy and pretty darned tasty I might add. My burger had a nice brioche bun, shredded lettuce(I prefer whole but no biggie), a not so ripe tomato, a hint of red onion and nice slice of pineapple. Also adorning the ground chuck AAA beef hand packed patty were two pieces of bacon(unfortunately not separated so just on one another and far too messy to try and set up properly) and a hefty slice of cheese. It did have a nice amount of terriyaki sauce on it though as it ended up not being as messy as I thought. Food was good but meat could use some spices or something. Not enough zing perhaps. Service while friendly needs better watching skills to observe when a customer needs something or is waiting for a bill etc. Bartender was terrific and helpful when he needed to be for me as well. Will I be back? Of course as we all deserve a second chance!

This is one of my most favorites places in St.Albert. Great beer selection and a tasty menu. I will always LOVE their sweet potato fries and dill dip! It wasn’t until my last trip back home to St. Albert in February 2014 that I had REALLY enjoyed my meals there! I had the chicken tenders with sweet potato fries, the turkey avocado club and the beef dip. It wasn’t until the last meal I had there, the beef dip did I realize that I did not have enough Alberta Beef while visiting and how amazing Alberta beef is in comparison to everywhere else. ALSO they have Alley Kat beers on tap… including Aprikat. Mmmmmmmmm Anyways, I love coming here with friends and having some drinks and good food. Very rarely have I been disappointed here. Hit em up! **I miss this place a lot… since there are none in Toronto. Obvs.

Just wanted to update my review from a few years ago. This OJ’s was recently remodelled and looks great. What has not changed is the friendly atmosphere, the great food, and the friendly staff. Just wanted to reiterate how great this place is.

I went here again and the food was really good. the sweet potato fries were yummy as always, and the chili lime chicken was really scrummy too! But the service was awful! It took the waitress ages to bring our drinks and then when the food arrived there was no cutlery or plates(as we were sharing appetizer’s).it was so bad we just sat there with food waiting for something to eat it with. The waitress was like the little engine that couldn’t.she was kinda all over the place and not really accomplishing anything.

Let’s just start off by saying I don’t really like chains, but as far as chains go, Original Joes is one of the ones I like a whole lot more. Because as a restaurant, here’s all you need to do to make me love you, even if you are kinda chainy: offer two sides with all your entrees. You might think that’s not healthy, but these aren’t your ordinary sides of french fries, sweet potato fries, and onion rings. Yeah, they offer those, but they also offer healthy options like caesar salad, a house salad with about a dozen different dressing options, fresh veggie and dip, roasted veggies, and my personal favourite(but not really healthy), mashed potatoes. Service was average, not bad considering how busy it was for a Wednesday at noon. I was surprised to get ID’d. I know it’s technically an adults-only place, but on Wednesday at noon when all I’m ordering is a club soda, I get carded? Weird. Definitely not a bad veggie burger, actually one of the best I’ve eaten recently. I requested no cheese and they followed my order. Not too shabby! A good lunch date with one of my besties, even if it’s a little out of the way.

Went to original Joe’s last night(Sunday) around 9PM with Hubby and a girlfriend of mine who was visiting from out of town. The place was packed — patio full and only a few spots left in the restaurant — always a good sign on a Sunday night! First — I must apologize that I didn’t take any pictures last night — we were starving and dug right in because it looked so delish! We ordered three items to share amongst us: REDTRACTORNACHOS crisp corn tortillas piled high; layered with a blend of melted cheeses, roma tomatoes, red and green onions, black olives and jalapenos. served with fire roasted salsa and sour cream. 16.49 ADDSPICYBEEF, CAJUNCHICKEN, ORPULLEDPORK3.99EACHGUACAMOLE2.99 We elected to add pulled pork for $ 3.99 — So good! Our guest was most impressed! We asked for extra salsa and that was brought without charge. First of all — the platter was HUGE — and I really like that they layer REAL(not processed) cheese throughout the layers of tri-colored chips. The only tweeny weeny complaint tonight — they forgot the olives but there certainly were more than enough toppings to last throughout the platter that we couldn’t even finish! I know the price on these nachos might seem a little high but the quality is outstanding — if you love nachos — you absolutely MUST give these a try! We also tried 2 of their summer features(none of us had tried these before) Dragon Boat Lettuce Wraps Oven roasted chicken breast, fresh seasonal vegetables and crisp chow mein noodles; sautéed in a hoisin peanut sauce, topped with freshly squeezed lime juice, chopped cilantro and toasted cashews. 10.99 The Lettuce Wraps were my husband’s absolute favorite dish — sweet and salty from the hoisson sauce! I thought the lettuce leaves they used could have been slightly larger to better«wrap» the food — they seemed like standard romaine leaves. I have had this dish at Asian restaurants where they give you the lettuce that is meant for wrapping(and you can buy these now at Superstore if you want to make your own!) I have to admit — probably just my own frugalness — I would prefer to see the Lettuce Wraps priced around $ 9.99 rather than $ 10.99… For a smal bowl of chicken and noodles with veggies and 6 large lettuce leaves — I think their profit margin would still be okay. And lastly… Gogi Tacos Slow roasted pork shoulder, simmered in a light, korean inspired sesame soy sauce; served on fire grilled tortillas with a spicy chili garlic aioli, topped with fresh ginger-cilantro slaw and served with a side of sweet potato fries. feed your seoul! 10.99 Absolutely delicious and the first time I have ever had their sweet potato fries! They were like fries on crack — unbelievably delicious — sweet, salty, crunchy goodness! The Gogi tacos were excellent — great flavor — very fresh — but I didn’t catch the«spicy» part — in fact, I didn’t find them spicy at all. And for dessert we shared their HUMUNGOUS Dirt Pie! 2 huge pieces of ice cream pie with cookie crust and chocolate and caramel sauce drizzled over it for $ 6.99 — YUMYUMYUMMY! The three of us could barely finish our appetizer, 2 mains, and dessert — it was a feast fit for a king! All of us agreed that we would definitely order these same dishes again!

This Original Joe’s went through a renovation. I don’t know what it was like before but this renovation looks like it was for the worst. Just seemed bland with booths on one side and bench seating and high chairs on the other. In the middle is just an arrangement of tables and chairs. Very basic. The service was pretty bad too. The place wasn’t busy for lunch and the waitress took a long time to take our orders. The beers came about 10 minutes later. I don’t condone crappy service. I’ll be sticking to the downtown/Glenora Original Joe’s from now on.

Burgers, nachos, and sweet potato fries oh my!!! This place is great. The food has taste, its well presented and you will not leave hungry. There is a reason why its always busy… duh the foods good ANDNOMINORS!!! Sorry parents but I’m a parent too and I even want to get away from my kids for a night of fun and a couple drinks. This is the place to be if you want to have a great meal, at a great price without all the family meltdowns at the dinner table.
