The waitress was very friendly, the food was good and it’s a nice building inside. I had the mozza and bacon hot dog with a side of fries and it was great. Service was good and the waitress was knowledgable about the menu which was a bonus. Overall I like beer hunter a lot, it’s a great place to have a beer and watch the game and I’ve never been disappointed by their food.

Went here for the first time on a Saturday night. Not terribly busy but the rainmaker rodeo was in town. Patio wasn’t super clean and kind of in a weird spot. If they cleaned it up or did something with it, it could be a decent sit in the summers, but I wouldn’t come for the patio. Food was surprisingly good(or we were hungry)… Nothing special but we just were out for drinks and had the team platter which was bout $ 30. Probably Enough munchies for 3 – 4, not amazing value but standard. Hot Wings were meaty but kinda disappointing. steak bites came out fresh and not overdone which is a common problem. Potato skins good, dips good. Also ordered a quesadilla which also came out fresh and delicious. Service was average, but polite. Will come back for sure if I’m in st. ab as the inside seems large and has a pool table, foosball table, tv’s are newer and unobstructed(unlike original Joe’s) Just a solid no nonsense sports pub, and you can never have enough of those around. Probably more of a 3.5 as everything was perfectly adequate, but the food that night was quite solid(for standard pub food) which bumped it up for myself… next time I’ll see how consistently solid it is… but if a plain old sports pub is what you’re looking for, this would suffice

I’ve only been here on weekend evenings and it was pretty busy both nights. I’d say it’s the most happening bar/pub in St Albert that I’ve seen so far. I was able to get a seat to watch UFC152 in Toronto and watch Jon Bones Jones almost get submitted then turn it around and submit Belfort. I ordered a double Vodka/Soda in a tall glass and it was $ 8.75 which wasn’t bad. I nursed that while watching 5 rounds of the first Flyweight final and the headliner. I’ll probably keep coming here to watch UFC since it’s close and they always show it.

Lunch really surprised me. I’ve been here for evening drinks and snacks with the crew afterwork. I had a Groupon that was just about to expire… so we went in for lunch. Football game was on, it was quiet in there, maybe a dozen people or so… but when there was something happening on screen, it got a little rowdy. In a good way though. I tried the Maui Wowie burger. Chicken with ham, cheese and pineapple. I’d have to say it was pretty tasty. Better than I expected. I paired it with their sweet potato fries(also very tasty) but it was the honey dill dip that did me in. I sat there trying to figure out if I could lick out the little sauce cup without anyone watching me. It was finger lickin’ good! The Mr. had a Spicy Chicken Burger. Wasn’t too spicy for him and he likened it to a big ol’ chicken wing. He seemed to enjoy it. I stole some of his fries. They were cut like no way I’ve seen before. They were wide, like two fries stuck together. Perfect for dipping in my leftover honey dill sauce. Looking at the menu, they have a ton of options for sides, which is great! Not everyone wants fries… some are an easy sub, and others are +$ 1.50, but to choose from different kinds of potatoes, salad, coleslaw, corn, beans, mac & cheese, onion rings, poutine, chili, soup… how could one not be satisfied!!! All in all it was good. Only thing was the menu prices are $ 2 — $ 3 more than I would have expected, but I’d say it was worth it.
