It’s unbelievable. If it was fiscally possible I’d eat a super with cheese for every meal.

Best donairs in the edmonton area. They are very clean. Service is friendly, the donairs come. loaded with lots of meat and whatever topping you want. I usually ask for sautéed mushrooms and onions. The sweet sauce it’s great perfectly balanced. I never had any of their other stuff because one donair it’s more than enough to fill you up.

Was in St. Albert doing some shopping. Getting very hungry and craving for a Donair. I checked Unilocal and this place was highly rated, so I though I would like to try. Well the reviews did not disappoint! Their Donairs are awesome and the sweet sauce is to die for. I had the large beef and it was huge. I don’t recommend ordering it unless you haven’t eaten for a day. Wow you have to try this place!

Great lunch spot. Being from the states, we wanted to sample a local donair. We ordered the chicken/beef mix with both sauces and all the fixings, large. The donair was quite amazing and was the most filling meal for the money we have had while in Edmonton.

Oh WOW. Their large is almost the size of a NERF football. If you can finish this EXCELLENT donair by yourself, GOODONYA. Myself, I needed two tries. I was frickin’ STUFFED. Best donair ever. Period. Bring a friend and take extra napkins.

My place to go for donairs. Large portions and great sweet sauce. But their meat is the best I’ve had. I really like the spice and spiciness of it. I haven’t put my arteries to the test with their donair poutine but it sounds unreal(with the meat all over it) Food — best donair I’ve had Wine — haha Atmosphere — it’s a donair shop

Yaaaaas, it’s so nice having someone that knows all the St. Albert hotspots. My co-worker and I went to Simply Donair on a Friday and got there just before the lunch rush. The place is simple and straightforward — order at the counter and watch the magic happen. I know Edmonton is overflowing with an abundance of donair and schwarma spots but Simply Donair is definitely worth a try. Especially if you’re one of those people that like massive quantities(aka. generous portions here). We each ordered a donair combo platter($ 11.66) with cheese($ 0.71 extra). You get a small donair(choice of beef, chicken, mix, donair poutine or falafel), small fries and drink(pop, juice or water). The«small» is easily the size of a regular sized donair. What I really liked about Simply’s donairs is that they shave the meat off and then grill it on top of the stovetop. Gives it a slight char flavour. As well, the sweet sauce was goooood. Just be prepared to get messy. Also, a nice touch was how you can customize what you want in your donair. I added mushrooms and banana peppers along with the usual tomatoes, shredded lettuce and onion. Fast, cheap, and fresh, what else do you want in a donair shop?

This is a hands down great donair place, the portions are huge, I like that they shave the donair meat then chop it up. The donair meat has just the right amount of spice, and if you want to try some thing a little different ask them to cook up the donair meat with onions, peppers, and mushrooms, it was pure awesome. I’ve had the mix donair and was not a fan of the chicken, a little dry for my taste, and as everyone else has stated the poutine is epic and filling.

Had a mixed donair it was OK but really nothing great the meat was a little too spicy for my liking and the donair itself was pretty greasy it left me feeling kinda gross afterwards. Also waited a really long time to get my order and it wasnt even busy. Owner seems very friendly though might give it another try sometime.

Simply donairs is my new go-to place for donairs! One of the best donairs I have had, and I have tried a lot! Not much for looks, but you want to do take out anyway. Although I actually kind of like the European style ‘snack bar’ feel that it has :-)

The meat is always hot, spiced to perfection! The sweet sauce is amazing, if you don’t like a lot of sauce(I saw some people complain there was too much sauce) you have the option to tell the person to stop! Their prices have increased which is unfortunate considering the business is increasing. There is now a Simply Donair open in South Common.

Ever since my old Donair go to closed, this has become my new have. You haven’t lived until you try their mixed Donair, consisting of both chicken and beef. How did I ever survive until the age of 43 without trying this marvellous concoction. Best Donair in St. Albert, bar none. I also recommend their Donair poutine. They use crinkle fries which keep them crunchy unlike joints that microwave their fries to soften the cheese. I double dog dare you to try the large Donair and leave hungry.

I’m a donair snob. I stumbled across this place and was pleasantly surprised. The donair meat has flavor and they don’t cheap out on the meat. Toppings are good(lettuce, tomato, olive, hot pepper etc) and they heap those on too. Best thing on the menu might just be the donair poutine… wow that was awesome. The gravy tastes great, the fries are crispy, the donair meat is very good, and lots of cheese… I think one of the best poutines in the city.

Another go-to donair place, but in St.Albert. If you enjoy Swiss-donair in the north then this is my 1A donair stop. Their sweet sauce is oh so good, loaded with flavourful meat & service is always super friendly. I’ve had the donair poutine also which is insanely good, but usually way too much for me to handle by myself. One knock — when the girls wrap it, sometimes it turns into a donair taco rather than a wrap so it’s difficult to eat. Still tastes the same although it ends up all over your shirt & pants, but so worth it. My go to is just a regular donair with lettuce onion tomato & sweet sauce(of course!!!). Boom done, into a food coma where I will inevitably just end up dreaming about these donairs.

Clean premises. Lovely owner. Nice donair, but in the end, it’s just a donair. Simply Donair is alright on balance. Recommended in the end if you’re in the area and you’re up for a donair.

I must say that Simply Donair has gained ground and now passed Famous Joe’s for my Donair needs. And that was achieved in 3 consecutive visits. Visit 1: Donair Poutine delivered by a friend to my work. Fries got a little soggy and there was a little too much sweet sauce for my liking but I ate the whole thing and stopped short of licking the aluminum take out tray. Visit 2: Regular Donair that I took to go. Very filling and tasty. Standard donair fillings and sauces but done perfectly. Visit 3: Donair Poutine eaten in the shop. This is definitely the way I’d suggest eating the Poutine. The fries stay crispy and everything is really hot. Also when the takeout lid is put on it flattens the whole thing and takes away some of the goodness. I did ask for half as much sweet sauce though and it was perfect for my tastebuds. Try this place and you won’t go anywhere else for Donairs!

I feel like a dirty mistress… I’ve found a Donair Place to Rival my longstanding love affair with Famous Joe’s Burgers and Donairs. I came to Simply Donairs this past weekend as a result of an ongoing fued with a co-worker who insistes that Simply Donairs is the BEST in all the land. I snuck a peek at the reivews on here in advance and I must admit, the 4 ½ star average had me all fired up and ready to go! Hubby and I popped into Simply Donairs this past weekend, Saturday night at 950PM on the nose. I noticed on the door that they close at 10pm 7 days a week. I quickly asked the Chef/Owner if it was too late to order. He enthusiastically invited Hubby and I to take our time as he needed a good 30 minutes to close up the store anyway. There were two young men line also waiting for their orders. I asked them if they were regulars, and YEPPERS, of course they were! FYI: I uploaded PICS of the items reviewed below: Hubby and I wanted to give Simply a fair shot so we decided to order 3 small menu items to get a good overview of their menu. 1) Small Falafel with housemade Tzatziki = PHENOMENAL5⁄5 stars for sure! My hubby and I LOVE, and I mean LOVE falafels; Simply Donairs did not disappoint! The chef said that he orders the spices direct from their naturally sourced origin and makes them from scratch. They were DIVINE! 2) Small Mixed Donair(chicken and beef) = 3⁄5 stars. The Chicken and Beef Donair was good… but it was a little too greasy for my tatste and over sauced. We had the sweet sauce which was good — but a little too fruity for my liking. Almost pineapple like? The mushrooms are canned — not fresh :-(And no banana peppers or jalapenos — but yes to Frank’s Red Hot Sauce. Everthying was prepared with love and grilled to perfection but the meat was greasier than I like and not seasoned as much as I prefer. Don’t get me wrong — if this was the only Donair I had ever had it would still still be a winner but it just didn’t hold a flame to my original love, Joe’s Famous Donairs and Burgers. 3) Small Donair Poutine — OH my God — Oh my GOD — Oh my God! 5⁄5 Stars! The Small Donair Poutine was out of this world delicious! First, he used crinkly fries which really held their texture and didn’t get soggy. There was enough meat to more than last through every bite! And the sauce— Mmm… Can you say heavenly? He mixed sweet sauce with the Gravy! Now, it was mozerella, not cheese curds — but that is what I’d expect at a Donair House anyway. HEAVENLY — did I mention heavenly? The prices were bang on, too! Smalls were about $ 6 and larges were around $ 8. Hubby and I were unable to finish all of our food and he even threw in 2 baklava for us, as it was our first visit! The place was clean, bright, and even had two well kept washrooms — a big plus in my eyes! If you are in the mood for a Falafel or Donair Poutine — this is the place to be! And if you like your Donair to be a little on the reasy side — you will probably gtive thes place a 45⁄5 for their Donairs, too. The owner couldn’t have been more hospitable or friendly! Love this place! So even though they did not replace my longstanding love affair with Joe’s Famous Burger and Donairs, this place is still a 5⁄5 in my books! Better yet… Do a taste test and compare the two! They are both loacted in the same parking lot! Yep, that’s right — in the same parking lot! Simply Donairs is next to Dairy Queen and Joe’s Famous is next to Klondyke Flowers. Simply Donairs, you have made a FAN out of me!

What I noticed as I walked through the door was the 3 huge slabs of rotating meat. Haha I found it to be quite amusing as I don’t frequent donair shops very often. The menu was small, but I already knew what I wanted… the donair poutine, which had been highly recommended by a friend. As it was Sunday night, the place only had a few customers but it felt good to know that their on-break staff ate where she worked. =) We were greeted by the very friendly chef. Once he knew we were there to try their donair poutine, there was no pressure for us to buy more than what was necessary for us. Instead of us each getting a small for $ 6.99 each, HESUGGESTED we share a large one for $ 8.99 instead. There were 5 of us, so we winded up ordering 2 large ones and 1 small for the friend who frequents this place. This place was fast food like, so we picked up our order at the counter once it was ready, but it was made quite quickly. What we saw didn’t seem too impressive at first, till our friends decided to divide it up on a plate. All of a sudden, half seemed very overwhelming. Eventually only 2 out of the 5 of us actually finished our halves. It was the best poutine I’ve ever had! The fries were crispy and remained intact even till the end, where some fries tend to get mushy. The cheese was melted, but not stringy. The gravy was mixed with some sort of sweet sauce which tasted absolutely amazing. There was more than enough donair meat! I started off eating a couple of bites of fries then a bite with meat, but it became obvious that they did not go cheap on the meat haha. Near the end, I was stuffing myself with mouthfuls of meat, meat, meat! =) We were all ready for a nap after a very filling and greasy, but super delicious meal. When you go, make sure you are hungry and don’t expect to need to order anything else. 2 Thumbs up! I need to rest up my stomach for another go some time. =)
