They make a fantastic grilles cheese! Got some of everything to share amongst us. They make all their cheese in house and are working at getting enough money together to buy a farm to grow all their own veg! Just lovely.

This was a recommendation from my partner. It was really nice. The inside was exposed brick wall with hanging Edison lights to add to the turn of the century atmosphere. The staff was really nice and knowledgable. This restaurant features local charcuterie and cheeses which I love. The smelts were delectable. This is a perfect place to share. I got a virgin Caesar which wasn’t that great so I’d recommend getting it with vodka. As the server said its a bloody shame(to have a virgin) lol. My partner and his sister had the Muskoka ginger ale. It was delicious. All in all this place was wonderful.

During our Day in Stratford, we stopped by Monforte on Wellington for a late afternoon snack. Our original plan was to visit Montorte Dairy but after having some beers down the street at Black Swan Brewing, we decided to have a quick snack. Monforte is located near Market Square across from City Hall. The interior is homey and cozy. They also have a patio at the back if you want to enjoy the outdoor. Menu is simple but I know why I am here for: Cheese Please :) I can’t believe I enjoyed Nika so much on my Cheese and Charchterie Plate($ 18) that I ended up getting a small tub home. Nika is a cream cheese made with Pasteurized Sheep Milk, Garlic Scapes, Lavender and Herb de Provance. Most items on the menu are local sourced and they also sells some of the products in the restaurant and of course Monforte dairy products too! When I return, I need to try Water Buffalo Ice Cream Affogato…

Love this place for lunch. Cute hip deco. Lots of cheese related food. The field greens were perfectly dressed. The cheese and charcuterie platter was excellent. The sausage was so good we bought some to take home. We loved the mac and cheese with great al dente macaroni. The water buffalo ice cream is good and obviously home-made. Daughter loved the creamy garlic-potato soup. They made an excellent latte. Friendly attentive waitstaff. You can buy many of the cheeses for take-out. We plan to return soon.

The cheese here is amazing, but I found the dishes themselves to be a bit uninspired. The salads were very plain and didn’t even seem to have vinaigrette. I would have liked a few more flavours added to them. The grilled cheese was great, and even better when paired with the apple butter. Highly recommend it!

What a beautiful café this is. While having a total hipster feel, it was filled with seniors having some lunch on a Monday afternoon. I loved the vibes here from the mismatched drinking glasses to the presentation of the food. The menu is simple, the wine list, not so much. I ordered the cheddar and summer sausage which was only $ 7. The price wasnt too bad considering I took my time eating it, I ended up being quite satisfied when I was done. The cheese was so good. A nice fresh and sharp white cheddar. The summer sausage was thick and perfectly salty. Probably the best I’ve had in a long long time. It also came with a pickled bean and onion as well as a large cracker type bread. Other people in my group got the braised beef which looked so amazing. They both really enjoyed it. We saw a grilled cheese go by and it looked delicious. The wine list was a bit confusing as they weigh the bottle and you pour what you like. So no one was really sure how much it would really cost so the girls I was with ordered some hard lemonades instead. They ran out of vodka so the waitress quickly ran to the LCBO to grab some more. Talk about customer service. They also gladly filled up my water bottle before I went on my merry way to walk around Stratford for the day. I will happily come here again the next time I am in town. I loved the atmosphere and I would love to try more of the many cheeses they have for purchase there. I highly recommend if you are looking for a light meal.
