Before this starts I’d like to point out I was a server, and I’m very understanding. I rarely send food back or complain. I always tip even if it wasn’t that great. But this experience was just utter rudeness. Terrible service! Second place in Tofino we tried for our night out. Never seen such a useless staff. We walk in and are told they’re clearing some tables so it’ll be 15 min which was fine. We relaxed outside and were glared at by the outdoor lower patio people for some reason. They let us in earlier than the 15 minutes. We are then told we can’t have menus for 10 minutes because the kitchen is backed up and they don’t want any other orders put in. We had to ask if we could at least look at the drink menu. Which was falling apart. My section of the table was dirty. We were seated into a tight corner next to a drunk couple of which physically used my body to push herself out of her seat… Across from us another couple hardcore making out tongues included. We were right under a huge speaker which was blasting loud techno I couldn’t hear my mom who was sitting next to me. One of the servers(who was stoned) finally took our drink order which took forever to bring even tho we were right next to the bartender. The bartender who was obviously stoned as well. All the staff seemed stoned now that I think of it. We eventually got them to let us at least look at the menu which we were just given one. There was three of us. Mostly appetizers on their menu which were all weird. Another couple was seated next to us who were told it’d be 20 be minutes before they got a menu. We gave up and left. Took forever for them to give us a bill for a drinks. I used to be a server and I’ve NEVER seen such bad service in my life. Or such rudeness from a staff. I rarely review places but it was so bad! Hipster run restaurant, ridiculous. They tell us as we leave there’s a wedding party upstairs. We’ll have extra staff or close the restaurant to others!

I am a very judgmental foodie, and this place is amazing. I’ve been on the island now for about two weeks and this is the first really good meal I have had. We had a kale salad that was humongous and we were able to share it, I had the cod cheeks as my main and my friend had the Cornish hen … Both dishes were amazing, we had the crème brûlée for dessert again very tasty. And we both had coffee. We walked away having spent about $ 31 a head(us).

We stopped in for a drink and a snack, and we really liked this place. The ambience was nice and cozy. We sat at the couch near the bar. The bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable. She made several specialty bourbon cocktails– all delicious. We ordered the cheese plate, which was really good, and a chocolate dessert. I inhaled the cheese; my other party members inhaled the chocolate!

Hopped in here after a full day of hiking in Flores Island. Happened to be happy hour. Pints are $ 5 and signature cocktails $ 7. Heck of a deal. Only three menu items are available for happy hour: burger and fries, tuna poke and kale salad. We ordered a few local beers and the burger and tuna poke. Both entrees were fantastic. The burger comes with bacon, cheese and a sauce. The fries were perfectly done. The tuna poke is delish! Has seaweed, a vinegar dressing, and a little crunch to it. The place is small and does attract a good crowd — even at happy hour.

Wolf in the fog wasn’t around the last time we visited Tofino two or three years ago. My girlfriend had heard great things about it so we gave it a try. Although we went early, around 5:30, midweek, the restaurant fills up quickly so reservations are recommended. If I understand our server correctly, they don’t take reservations for the outdoor patio upstairs, so most times you should be able to get a table if you are flexible about where you sit. We ordered a halibut salad as a starter, and mains of Cornish game hen and gnocchi. Everything was great, worthy of a high priced Vancouver restaurant but with more reasonable prices. Service was prompt and friendly. We sat on the upstairs patio and had a great view of Tofino. Highly recommended.

This place should get 6* rating! Best food in town, real creative chef and I wish I would have them back home in Belgium as well! Outside patio gives killer view on the mountain range as well. Keep it going guys.

Here’s a restaurant with great food, service, and décor. Their fish is fresh and everything tasted perfect. It’s just not the greatest in terms of value. For example, Sablefish with gnocci is $ 70. Please don’t get me wrong, Sablefish is pricey as it is and so is gnocci(and here they made gave it a little bit of a spin with pan frying it a little) but it left us still hungry after. Possibly, we gotta come back and try a bunch of other dishes. Go for: a nicely decorated restaurant with some fresh food that tasted perfect Don’t go for: if you’re on a tighter budget

On our trip to Nanaimo, we were going to go to Victoria for a day before going back to Vancouver, but changed our mind! We heard from our friends that this restaurant is good. so changed the distination to Tofino^^ We got tuna poke and burger and fries. We had a big breakfast at Pointe not too long ago, so my tuna poke was just big enough. My hubby ate the whole burger and fries. Their tuna poke was interesting. We have had poke many many times in LA and Hawaii, but their poke was a bit different. It had interesting ingredients and I loved it! The texture was so good. Hope to come here agai sometime! Thank you!

After 3 hours of kayaking, and most of the places were no power and closed. Luckily this place was opened for business, we were so happy to find this place. I had pasta of the day, which is very tasty and love the heavy and juicy taste. My husband had burger and fries which is ok for him and a bit dry. Overall we had good experience here and the waiter was very helpful in the menu and friendly.

We sat at the bar which usually means a less attentive experience. Our man Ken did a world class job of serving our meal and making us some delicious cocktails. We had a great meal of the shared laksa and a starter foie gras parfait. Ken had a lot on the go but was friendly and didn’t hesitate to stop and explain something or to help us out. Great atmosphere and food!

Cosy, modern, warmly-lit interior, just the right amount of bustle and good view across the water. Simply an enjoyable place to be. The food is creative and really good bang for buck. The oyster appetiser surprised us it was so good. I won’t go dish by dish but a theme throughout was a brave and well-judged combination of flavours and — especially — textures, mixing up crunchy, squidgy, chewy. Out of the ordinary and spectacularly well done. Cocktails were delicious too, plenty of thought and creativity. Service perfect too, but what do I know I’m used to European levels of service… Go, it’ll be a highlight of your time in Tofino

Hands down, this is the best place to eat in Tofino. The atmosphere is fantastic and the food is delicious and unique; clearly made by someone who is absolutely passionate about what they’re putting on a plate. We had the Creole Sablefish & Shrimp and it was cooked to absolute perfection — the sablefish just melted in your mouth… mmmm! Our server was amazing — she clearly loved where she worked and was very knowledgable/excited about the food she was serving. That kind of attitude is contagious and just makes the whole experience that much better. Their signature cocktails are out of this world tasty. The cedar infused rye is something that I’ve never seen anywhere else and it’s an outstanding addition to some of their cocktails. After I submit this review, I’m booking my next trip to Tofino. You should too(and visit Wolf in The Fog while you’re there!).

Dropped in for lunch at the den. Cozy seating and friendly staff working the bar. Ordered the daily pasta of shredded duck and the tuna poke. First time here on last day in Tofino. The daily pasta was quite underwhelming. The pasta is al dente and ingredients are executed well but it doesn’t appeal as a dish. Came out on a nice oval metal platter yet the combination wasn’t ‘hey this is good’ or ‘mmm good pasta’… more like ‘meh okay mediocre’. The tuna poke is like a lettuce wrap dish but with sui choy leaves and upgraded tuna sashimi. It first came out with yellowing and old sui choy so I sent it back to the kitchen and declined the order. The chef got fresh leaves and insisted we try it out so in a way, the offense was redeemed. The tuna poke is actually amazing. I like how the tuna chunks are large instead of minced. All that being said, it wasn’t stellar. I’m told they have different chefs for lunch and dinner service. They do have interesting creations and their staff are nice so I’ll be back next time I’m in town before deciding it’s great or hit/miss or overhyped.

I would say this place for me is between 4.5 — 5 just because the waitresses at brunch time were not as friendly as the staff at dinner’s time. At night the staff was very friendly, love it! The ones in the morning, on the other hand, wasn’t in a good mood and wasn’t giving that much attention, which surprised me. My husband asked which beers they had on tap and one of them said to him to look at the menu. Usually in the other places they are more helpful and just say the beers they have. Anyways, except that, the food was great both times we went there. For dinner, I tried their delicious squash gnocchi. Very well done and full of flavour. For brunch, I had a special sandwich with turkey and cranberry. I just did not expect the sandwich come with burger bread. Besides that, location is great and the restaurant itself is quite cozy!

What a treat! All aces. Ace: Creative menu. Ace: Fresh ingredients. Ace: Perfectly prepared. Ace: Beautiful indoor atmosphere amidst inspiring natural beauty outside. Ace: Excellent service. Nothing better in Vancouver, BC or Portland, Oregon. Well, maybe a longer wine list might be good for many guests. But the food was top notch.

There was a lot of hype prior to coming here and overall it was a great experience. Service was friendly and attentive. The waiter was personable and knowledgeable about the food. He made some great recommendations. Food came out promptly and water was filled frequently. We started off with the Cedar Sours which were quite unique with cedar infused rye. I can’t say the cedar stood out but it was tasty nonetheless. For appetizers, we started off with the charred squid served on a bed of sprouts. This was really flavourful. Next, we had the smoked trout. The apple and yogurt provided an interesting flavour but the trout itself wasn’t very memorable. For the main, we had the Spanish Bombshell — a two person shared dish with scallips, barnacles, clams and potatoes In a really rich and savoury broth. The broth was a little salty though. There’s focaccia included which is perfect for dipping. Separately, there’s a bowl of cooked tomatoes which was a nice balance to the seafood. Dessert-wise we had the Tofino blackout and sticky toffee. The sticky toffee is the way to go(it’s also a bit larger than the blackout so it’s good for sharing if you’re full). The desserts were pretty good but safe. Overall, it was a great experience. It felt like an elaborate home cooked meal but I don’t mean that in any disparaging way.
