I personally love leather, and am a frequent customer to Danier. Although their items are nice, their customer service is not. Well at least not in this location. When looking around the store, a salesperson greeted me, only to try to guilt trip me into buying something. I don’t know about others, but I find it really uncomfortable when I’m being forced into a sale. After walking around for a bit more and not finding anything I liked in particular, I started heading out of the store, only towards the exact same salesperson who then gave me the most hateful look for not making a purchase. Truthfully, I rather spend a little more elsewhere if it meant I wouldn’t have to feel terrible after leaving a store. All I know is that I wouldn’t be shopping at Danier for a while.

Out on a Sunday stroll, I popped into the downtown Danier store and was drawn to a pair of lean electric blue leather pants. I picked up my size and asked an eager salesperson for a dressing room. Sliding the leather pants on, they fit beautifully except I would have preferred a lower waist. Having had other leather skirts and pants altered with no problem, I asked the salesperson if the waist could be lowered — the pants were on sale and I was willing to pay any alteration fee. The salesperson consulted with the manager, and they came over to inform me I could buy the pants and then take them to Danier’s head office in the west end of the city to get an alteration. Huh?! Why would I pay for these pants and THEN drive a good 45 minutes away to pay $ 50 for an alteration that may not even be able to be done? I told the manager I could take them to any alterationist for that matter. What was most disappointing was I have bought lots of leather from Danier before and the customer service was always great — I had had other alterations done conveniently. Needless to say, I didn’t buy the electric blue pants and left the store quite disappointed at the service.

//Great choices of leather jackets and accessories. Regular prices are between 400 $ et 600 $ for a jacket but look for discounts! I could have had a night blue jacket for only 200 $. The atmosphere could be a little bit crazy due to the fact that you are in Eaton Centre on a Saturday afternoon… But still staff is very quick and will answer all your questions.

Kind of overstaffed when I last visited. There were 6 staff members working the floor in this small store. Every staff member was wearing a leather jacket in a temperature controlled mall which makes them look kind of ridiculous. I would suggest they just mark the prices fairly in the first place instead of having these 50% off sales to appear there’s a huge savings. With the quibbles out of the way. the store does offer a great stylish selection of leather jackets and accessories for most price points. They have updated styles and classics each season.
