I started coming here after moving into the area and trying a few other places nearby that were somewhat disappointing. This is where I shall stay. The place is always clean and quiet, and the staff are polite. I’ve rarely had to wait more than a few minutes when I’ve walked in, and the two times i made an appointment I was taken right away. The colour selection is good and they offer a full range of services. They’re fairly quick but still do a good job. My shellac manicures usually last the full two weeks and the pedicures are thorough. My only comment is that they don’t really offer too long of a hand or leg massage that often comes with mani-pedis, but I can live with that. I’ve had a few waxes here as well and was pleased with the results. Overall, I like that Hoang Thy is clean, efficient, and does quality work. That’s all I need!

Probably my most frustraiting experience at a nail salon… EVER! I wanted to get gel nails for an event I was attending, I asked for slightly pointed tips and short nails. When she made my nails so pointy they ends looked like toothpicks I showed her a picture and said«I want them like this. not so pointy and not as long as they are now.» She told me not to worry that she would fix them after… I kept quiet and let her do her thing, then she filed so close to my skin that my finger started bleeding. She apologized and said she was heartbroken. I told her it was okay but when she did it two other times I started losing my patience. Dont tell me your sorry if your going to keep on doing it!!! She was very careless when spraying the alcohol which was clearly making my cuts burn, after which she would say it would only hurt for a couple of minutes. AT that point I was very close to getting up and leaving with my nails half done. Am pretty sure she was either the manager or owner of the nail salon which only makes it worse. I told her once again that the nails were too pointy and long. her reply was: «oh no they are not too long». If I am saying they are too long for me its because they are! You should listen to what your customers want, its their nails after all not yours. The worst part was that the lady started losing her patience with me because I kept on asking her to file them down. I wouldnt keep on asking if you would have listened to me in the first place. She started speaking to a younger girl at the salon in a different language(am sure she was complaining… SORUDE!), so the girl started working on my nails instead. The girl clearly saw I was furstrated and I told her«my nails are still too long and pointy, I DONT want them that way and she wouldnt listen». If it werent for her I would have left with my unfinished nails and without paying.

I love this place!!! I’ve been here a few times. I’ve gotten manis, pedis and eyebrow shading. Everyone is really nice and friendly and they offer you complimentary water and tea which is a really nice touch and much appreciated! The place is clean and quiet. I don’t go often but I do visit every once in a while when I’m in the mood to pamper myself.

Came in for a quick $ 30 shellac mani here. I was happy with the results but not wowed by any means I was going for a dark wine colour and the manicurists suggested berry wine. It was darker than I intended but still beautiful and winter appropriate Cindy did my hands and she was gentle. I didn’t love her filing but she went to town on my cuticles(damn them all!) But there wasn’t much of a hand massage, certainly no shoulder rub or massage chair(may be available with pedis) and no chit chat or pleasantries. The shop was empty and most of the staff was either eating or napping which I thought was a bit odd and unprofessional, but it was a slow lunch hour so we shall allow. Overall I’ll probably be back, cause it’s closer to home than my preferred nail spa. Will update it any chips or issues under two weeks. I RECOMMEND– for a classic job, try Vanessa’s Nails further south or for serious nail art check out Ananeke on Yonge, north of Eglinton EXTRATIP– Avoid Fridays and Saturdays, but Sundays are usually open

I did a walk-in shellac manicure and was really pleasantly surprised with the results. The staff was very friendly and the shop was very clean — and quiet. There’s a tv in front of the manicure station(as well as some of the pedicure stations), so you can watch some tv as the staff do your nails. I’m no manicure aficionado(I get one occasionally), but I was very happy with my nails. I would definitely go back again(and plan to).

It took me a while to find this nail shop on Unilocal. The old shop kept appearing when I searched for the address. I’ve been here twice since they’ve opened and in that time span they’ve changed the shop completely. The first time I went it wasn’t busy at all. The tables, where you get your mani done, looked like two columns of dry wall plastered with a kitchen back splash. It was however, very clean. I got the shellac mani and pedi. The ladies were lovely and laughed a lot — it was a friendly atmosphere(not catty like some places where they fight for tips/commission). The following month was my second time to the shop. To my surprise they completely updated the tacky tables with professional looking ones. The place was very busy and the ladies were as lively as the first time. I noticed a little lady running around in a pink uniform(the workers were all in blue) — whom I assume is the owner/manager. She was adorable and offered to buy Starbucks for both the staff and customers. I got a drink seeing as I had to wait for my turn anyways. This time I got a mani and had my eyebrows waxed. I was taken to a backroom that was clean and organized. Sadly, the faux gucci chair cover was just too funny for me to withhold and I had to laugh. All in all this is a great place to get yourself pampered.
