I am so happy I found Labl Studio. Elizabeth is as kind as she is talented. I came in with a far-​too-​big off-​the-​rack wedding gown that I feared could not be resized. Elizabeth very clearly laid out the process in advance, making sure I was happy with the dress every step of the way. She was honest in what could and could not be done to make the dress my size and worked her hardest — with great success — to match my vision. I cannot believe what an amazing job she did making the gown fit me! She was extremely resourceful and focused on details in a way that actually made them more beautiful than they were on the original gown. She is extremely understanding and you can tell how much she cares about her work and clients. I am beyond thrilled with my gown and the process and cannot recommend Labl enough. So happy!

After hearing some negative things about my bridal store’s recommended seamstresses, I found Labl’s great reviews on Unilocal and decided to contact Elizabeth.

The bridal store had talked me into ordering a dress that was more than a full size too large for me, and it had a complex lace overlay and corset back. I really wanted to make sure I hired someone who knew what s/​he was doing with the more complex lace-​work. All I can say is that all of Labl’s excellent reviews are thoroughly justified!
Elizabeth got back to me quickly and we set up a schedule for three fittings for my dress. She was always on-​time and professional, and after meeting with her for the first time I trusted her completely to do what was necessary for the dress. I never felt rushed and there was never any concern that the dress wouldn’t be ready on time. It was done perfectly a week before my wedding (exactly as planned), and it looked amazing! Her services were also very reasonably priced and she gave all pricing up-​front. Nothing changed when it was time to pay.
Skip the busy, factory-​like atmosphere of a bridal store for your alterations… I would highly recommend Elizabeth for any frazzled brides out there who want to be listened to and want to trust that their dress is done right. It’s one less thing to worry about and definitely worth it!

Elizabeth is awesome at her job. I had a difficult time finding the wedding dress that matched the picture I had in mind, and knew I had to get it custom made. I was nervous when researching and looking for a seamstress to do the job because it meant bringing in a vintage wedding dress worn by my sister, communicating and having said professional understand my vision for the dress, and then relinquish complete control and wait and see if she got it right. Only one chance to get it right (yikes!) It’s not hard finding a professional who can do great work, but it’s definitely difficult to find someone who listens and puts in the time and effort to understand what I want, and after one meeting with Elizabeth I knew she was able to it.
We worked together to create ‘the dress’ and she was very helpful and patient throughout the whole process. She is respectful of my ideas but also offered great creative ideas and suggestions to make my dream dress materialize. She created a truly unique and one of a kind dress for me that magically had all the aspects that I had envisioned plus more! She was instrumental at making it happen, and made the whole process stress free by clear and direct communication (including price and costing) and met all the timelines she committed to. She is professional and fun to work with. I would recommend her for any job, big or small, because she is just that good and can do anything.
For the level of service and expertise Elizabeth charges a very reasonable price. She is upfront about costs and is super helpful at offering advise to keep costs within budget. She respects budgets and lets you know in advance if she thinks we are going to run into trouble. She has a wonderful direct, no-​string-​attached– approach that I love.

I was in search for a seamstress to alter my bridesmaid’s dress and was fortunate to find Labl Studio. Elizabeth at Labl was great to work with and she made great suggestions to have the dress fit my body.
In a couple of weeks I was able to pick up my dress and it fitted perfectly. When I tried on the dress, she also made suggestions on how to wear the dress for the wedding.
I would highly recommend Labl for anyone looking to alterations in the city.

Elizabeth is great at her job. When I brought her a dress for altering which hadn’t been constructed well she knew just what to do, even performing a last minute fix to save the day. I’d highly recommend her!

Recently had a custom silk stretch dress and a boucle jacket made at Labl. Elizabeth clearly was an expert in how the fabric would wear and discussed several practical considerations for me (for example, how the boucle might get caught on stuff in the office). I constantly get compliments on my dress and jacket. Thanks, Elizabeth!

I recently purchased a vintage mink collar wool coat and needed it to be taken it at the the shoulders, body, and length. Pretty much everything. I went to a few places and weren’t really satisfied with their evaluation of how they were going to do it. This coat meant a lot to me and I wanted someone to put extra care into it.
I found Elizabeth and was really thankful that I did. Turns out she specialized in fit and talked to me about how my coat was originally made to look and how my changes would or would not affect it. The dialogue really helped me make appropriate decisions to the fixes.
Work was done clean and well. I would recommend to everyone I know.

I have never met a more skilled and knowledgeable seamstress, than I have here with Elizabeth at Labl. She is the best in the business. She knows what works and what doesn’t and is confident in her abilities and it shows with her end product. I met Elizabeth a couple months ago when I had a design in my head that I wanted to come to fruition — a formal «adult onesie», I called it. She rephrased it to me by saying it’s actually a «pantsuit». I started with one pantsuit, and I bought a 2^nd one from her immediately after the first finished product, it was THAT amazing! From that moment forward, I knew that I had made a wonderful relationship with someone who could custom make me anything I wanted with incredible talent, skill and professionalism.
