Marc Anthony is a place that you go to get you hair done. Not for a nice professional salon experience. And it really comes down to the weak front desk staff and management. I really don’t want to trash the salon because I’m sure there are some good hair stylists. But I must vent about my horrible experience with the first time I called to book my appointment. I spoke with a gentleman and had booked in for Wednesday. So I showed up on time for my appointment, and I was greeted by the manager Scott. He had told me that my appointment was booked for the Thursday which was the day after. And I was just about to walk out as he started to be apologetic and offered me a cappuccino. So I took a deep breath and waited 15 minutes before someone came over to take me into get shampood. And on top of that he had forgotten my coffee. I could almost swear that he was high on something. So I am just telling you this experience of mine and I hope no one has to go throughthe same thing. There are plenty of salons in Yorkville to go to

«we service over 1000 clients a week» — so much for feeling pampered and special! This is an actual response from management. That’s how they respond to client complaints and issues. This isn’t a salon to go if you want a trip to the salon to be special. It’s more of an in-and-out operation, and the skill of the stylists reflect that. With the other salon choices out there, this would be my last pick.

First visit to Marc Anthony salon. I decided to come here as many of my friends are clients and their hair has always looked awesome after getting a blowout here. Although my hair looked really good immediately after, it quickly fell out(volume and curls) on my walk home(about five minutes away) it was not raining/snowing or overly windy. Needless to say I was a little disappointed. It is likely that my hair(Type 2A) just doesn’t hold styling well. That being said I have had really excellent services that lasted at other salons. I guess it is a little hit or miss for me. I also do not regularly use styling products or heat application when I do my hair myself. I was able to fix the curls myself using pinning and curling. Although my own adjustments didn’t last much longer than the original styling. Overall I didn’t feel that the results were worth the 48 $ price tag considering my hair looked more or less the same way it does when I style it myself(and I ended up styling it myself anyways). If you are unsure of how your hair will hold styling or just want to try a blowout this is probably not the place to go. I found the staff to be really friendly and helpful. It was a nice environment.

If there was a way to put in negative stars I certainly would. This place is awful. I have the worst hairsut and the worst color I have ever had. I cry every time I look in the mirror. Its been almost 2 weeks. And they offer to put my $ 392 into credit so I can return when I’ve grown my hair out. AWFUL.

Not recommended! Natalie is horrible!!! Not professional at all. Hated my make up, she ruined my photos. Kyle is good. Has good taste and he is indeed skillful but the price is very high and there are better salons with this price range. I do not recommend this salon at all especially for make up. Especially Natalie!!!

I’ve been here twice. Both times I went for blow outs. The first one was really good! The second one was also really good, but I found the salon and experience underwhelming. And kind of irritating, too. It is pretentious. Both times I went I felt uncomfortable, almost as if I were being judged just walking into the place. The second time, my stylist spent approximately half an hour telling me how bad my cut was and asking why I had stopped dying my hair and why my stylist was not giving me treatments for my dryness. My hair stylist has styled people like Megan Fox! I’m pretty sure he knows what he is doing. I HATE when you go to a stylist and they dump on whoever cut your hair last. It is the worst when you go to a salon for a one off and they try and convert you to their salon with fear tactics. My cut was grown out because I was trying to grow my hair long. I stopped dying my hair because I didn’t want to anymore. My hair was dry because it was lifted from a deep red to platinum blond. My hairstylist knows what he is doing. Trying to tell me otherwise is NOT going to make me come to your salon. And I haven’t been back since and will never return.

I was referred to Marc Anthony by someone whose hair I love. Same hairstylist as her, unfortunately not the same experience! Salon atmosphere is completely pretentious. Some woman was getting ready for her 60th birthday party there, getting her hair and makeup done, in her $ 6000 dress. I told her that I could see her panty lines through her skirt. Hey, I did her a favor, right? Hairstylist spent 10 minutes cutting my hair(for $ 138) and the entire session trying to sell me products. I can assure you that Marc Anthony doesn’t carry cheap product. REDFLAG! REDFLAG! Hairstylists who try to push product are brutal. My hairstylist also spent time criticizing other clientele as well as the people walking by on the street. Wow, I wonder what he said about me when I walked away. Hair looked good when I walked out, like crap in a month. If you’re going to take my $ 138 at least give me a cut that looks good growing out. Will never go back! NEVEREVEREVER!!!

I had been going for three years, and never realized how little they did for my hair until I finally went to another salon. In all those years my Senior stylist was never able to achieve the colour I wanted, a pretty standard order. My hair was destroyed due to an over processing by an assistant when the senior stylist was away. I was given colour correction several times. But the way they handled it was extremely poor. Over priced, rushed service and plan on tipping at least three people as you shuffle through multiple hands. They have no problem sending you out with wet hair, or you can pay $ 40 for them to blow dry it. Sure you can blow your own before you leave but where I go now I don’t think they would dream of treating you that way. And more importantly the stylist should care how my highlights turned out which you can only decipher once the hair is dry but she really couldn’t have given a damn. I literally saw this person more than a dozen times during the period I was a client. I wish I wrote this years ago! There are way way better salons out there. Two huge massive thumbs down.

Stylist did a respectable job but for the price I expected more. I explained the style I wanted, which the stylist understood clear. But she should have told me if that was the right style for me at the time. I had curly hair and I wanted some bangs. So it came out weird, which the stylist fixed at no cost. But I like what she did with the layering as it gave so much volume.
