After visiting McEwan’s at the mall, my wife and I repaired to the new beautiful Spanner store. I located and immediately proceeded to the«Men couches» that are always available in these types of stores. My wife proceeded to browse and try out a bunch of things. I was approached by Curtis, who presented me with some magazines and apologized that the TV in the ‘men’s area’ was not fully working. I was happy to look at the slide show of the beautiful clothing. Curtis then assisted my wife as she tried a number of items and outfit. His taste was impeccable, he was not pushy, and he provided great service. On a couple of occasions he involved me in the process, which I appreciated. They have a beautiful colour palette, and some fresh current styling, but use a bit too much Spandex for my wife’s taste. They do have some nice fabrics, though, including some light linens(one of my favourites). At lot of their offering is available on their well-designed website. Spanner is a Canadian company and the following was contained in one of their press releases: «SPANNER is a contemporary lifestyle, fashion collections brand, designed and distributed by SPANNERLTD. Established in 1973, the privately-owned Canadian company is based in Kitchener, Ontario, with 14 sales agencies across North America and a design studio in Toronto». Ultimately, my wife did not purchase anything, in spite of Curtis’ outstanding help. But for both her and I, it was a civilized and pleasant foray in the world of retailing. Spanner gives good shopping!
