Sadly, Silvia, the owner, has been forced to close because of a gouging landlord, but she’s hoping to open again in the neighbourhood at another location. I’m really hoping True Brew will resurface because it would be be a real loss to the area if it doesn’t.

This place makes the most delicious lattes in town, and their wee squares and loaves are wicked. The café is warm, the staff are personable and efficient. Prices are very reasonable.

Unfortunately, this cute, independent coffee shop was a disappointment. Perhaps I was dreaming to hope it was on par with Rooster, Mercury or Crema. They have the very basic drinks on the menu(no Cortado or Macchiato, for example), and the owner had cursory barrista skills. She could make a latte, just not very well. Her tamping pressure was too light, and the milk was steamed too much which resulted in the latte being too hot. She was friendly, and the place had a nice, unhurried vibe, but I won’t be rushing back.
