This place is really nice when you walk in. There’s a giant chandelier, lots of lights, and a big dance floor at the back. Downstairs, they have a pool table and another dance floor. My friends and I came here on a Saturday night. We got in before 11pm so there was no cover, but despite the free entry, we did not have a good time. The music was boring and not conducive for a dance floor. We waited around a half hour in the hopes that the music would get better but it turned out to just be a waste of our time. Although the club started filling up with more people, more and more people who came early like us left, so the place was never full. We left after getting one drink each. I wouldn’t come back here unless they had a special event going on, but hey — at least we didn’t have to pay cover.

Came here on a Thursday night for an event to see Galantis. The venue was way overcrowded, but even then I was enjoying myself until came along the buzzkill. A girl tried to push her way through me and my friends so I held my arm blocking the push and told her to walk around. She then yells at me saying«don’t push me». I told her to walk around because there’s coats on the floor in front(coat check was full). She continued to yell at me for pushing her, and my friends just told her to move along. 10 mins later she comes back barging through the crowd with a security guard and my friends and I were asked to leave. Apparently she works here as a waitress. We told the security guard what happened and he said«It doesn’t matter, all 4 for you have to go. If you want you can pay me $ 50 per person to stay.» ??? That means they just wanted to pocket an extra $ 200? It’s not even about the money, it’s about the principle. No way we would have paid extra so we decided to leave. When we got to the door the security says, «Fine, $ 60 for 2 people so $ 30 each». What is this, a flea market? So ridiculous! To me it’s like a scam. The staff comes out of nowhere to the middle of the dance floor, pushes her way through but accuses me of pushing her, and then the security comes along asking us to pay up if you want to stay? Even if it wasn’t a set up and the waitress was just genuinely that trivial and determined to kick us out, then I really feel sorry for her.

The only thing I enjoyed about this venue was the LED light things hanging from the ceiling. They were awesome. This place is just a glorified hallway. I went to see Galantis last night and you couldn’t even move. It was SO hot and there was no «back of the crowd» because they crammed so many people into the venue. There is no way it was within fire code. I couldn’t find a bathroom at all, I’m pretty sure it was up near the front, but I have no idea. Honestly, I won’t even come back to a show here. I was really disappointed. There are plenty of other venues in Toronto that I’d pick before this place.

I have been here a few times now and have loved it each time! My friends and I went here on Saturday January 16th for a friend’s 27th birthday. We got bottle service for $ 550 which came with 6 free covers, 2 bottles, assorted pops and juices, and a bottle of sparkling wine. I always go on Sundays which I guess what Uniun is known for. But I had a lot of fun on Saturday as well plus they had free cover for ladies before I think 11:30PM or 12:00AM. The music was great! I believe they played a lot of EDM. The bottle service was wonderful. Our bartender/service girl was super friendly. She helped us with the drinks which was helpful because I’m sure you can imagine how we were as the night went on with bottle service: D The service was phenomenal throughout the night. Every time a bottle service person walked by our booth they asked us if we needed any thing. Fab service. I will definitely come here again and very much recommend this place.

Meh. EDM all Saturday night. Hip hop tease and then fucking air horns and jersey shore beats take over. Crowd was like mid to low 20’s with a bit on either side. The light show is a bit overrated. There are lights and they do things. But that’s about it. Decent staff, not rude, not crazy, just fine and doing their job. May not be back unless I want to relive GTL life on a Saturday night.

Went here last week and it was lit!!! Had to pay $ 15 to get in because we arrived after 11 pm, the location of the club was sketchy cause it was in an alley lmao. We had a booth and tbh I didn’t like how the booth was right on the dance floor. I like the booths to be separated a little from the madness. overall the music was great! We all had a good time and will def visit again.

$ 20 cover, collared shirt is a must for the boys. Doesn’t matter how fashionably/unfashionably dressed you are. You need a collared shirt. It’s the silliest thing ever. Bouncers take bribes though. Speaks volumes about the shiftiness of the service you’ll find inside. Bartenders will overcharge you. I ordered a drink, told them I’d pay with credit… The bartender comes back making 4 of them and saying that there was a minimum fee for them to take credit. Ridiculous. «I’ve already made the drinks,» I was told, and they wouldn’t budge. They could have told me first. The dancefloor is alright: typical fare for the night out at the club. If you want a loud, electric party, go here. But don’t expect exceptional service.

This place sucks! My friend and i had this ticket for the halloween event. After standing in the waiting line for almost 50 mins the bouncer at the time did not allow us in. I showed him the tickets he said no and started to swear at us for no reason!!! For god’s sake who the hell hire these sick people in there!!! he made us escape from there while we had the tickets and were in our customs!!! I am kind of glad that we never made it in that hell!!! I do not suggest this place to no one!!!

Pretty good club with good music! Only downsides were that it was $ 20 cover to get in the door. People will not show up till at least 12 which is to be expected for a club. Upstairs dance floor was pretty packed for a Saturday night but rest of the club downstairs and to the sides were free to walk around which was kinda nice. As a young 20 year old was a bit creepy to see some older folks around just lurking for younger females. Not sure if this is normal for clubs in Toronto but felt a little uncomfortable. Also, the bartender there was making some rude comments. But all in all would go back if friends wanted to go and we had a good time at the club.

Bouncers told my friend there is a dress code but let him in after he paid him 20. Another friend(female) was pushed by a bouncer and was called a bitch. The manager didn’t give a fuck about the whole situation when told about this. On top of all the bad management, the music sucks and the place is humid.

Got ripped off by a blonde bartender who brought two beers instead of the four we ordered and insisted she served us the other two and that someone must have taken them. She took us for a ride and was horribly rude and demanded I pay her for two drinks she NEVER served us.

It has been a long time since I have been to a nightclub since I moved out from California. My local friend had recommended this place for clubbing. I was impressed by end of the night. This place reminded me of upscale nightclub in SF. this place has nice décor and is relatively clean compare to other nightclubs I had been to. The décor is more modern. The place is spacious .and a lot of tables if you do want to reserve a table. During the night, there were 2 dancers .and music was awesome. and i was most impressed by its lightening effects. it has many lightening from the ceiling which created falling stars which made this club really unique. it also has wall size TV to create party/dance atmosphere… the ventilator system was great. I didn’t really smell any smoke(i am really sensitive to its smell) on the dance floor. I didn’t really go downstairs. but it also has a downstairs area for chilling.

So it’s been a long time since I’ve been to a quality club after moving to SF from the Miami area and then Detroit. This one is a great place to go because it’s a large space, has great décor and lighting to put you in the mood. The bartender’s are nice and when your tired of dancing go downstairs and rest your feet from those high heels, but please don’t take them off. The music wasn’t my taste that night, but I had a great time with just me and my husband. Back to the bartender, it was an Asian chick and my husband made bartender’s pick all night and she gave him a ton of new drinks that he liked. She also intriduced me to a new drink banana liquor and Jack Daniel’s. Pretty darn good even though it sounds weird. Lots of people having fun, not a lot of douchey people, however there were more men than women. Overall very fun time, I would highly recommend it if your into EDM and appreciate décor to set the vibe.

Okay, so Uniun is a club in the«King Street» hood, meaning you cannot escape the King St bros. But to be honest, this club is probably as fun as it gets in the area. If you like dance music/the DJ genre, and flashing lights — this club is for you. It’s also quite spacious with a downstairs area for chilling, and an upstairs area for dancing your butt off. This place loses a star for being insanely packed for big-name DJs. To the point where you cannot move. This also affects the line outside. It’s always huge and takes forever to get in the door. They oversell their events big time. The last time we tried to go there was for Nicky Romero. Bought our tickets well in advance and the lineup for ticket holders was approximately 2 hours. As it was sold out, we just sold our tickets to some people on the street for what we paid, hopped back in a cab, and peaced. My suggestion is to go here for a DJ you like, but perhaps not if they’re a huge name. Save your money!

I don’t go to a lot of clubs anymore but Uniun is definitely one of my go-to’s. The music is always great and probably the best EDM club in Toronto. Great music, great lights, and usually a pretty descent crowd!

My boyfriend and I went here after dinner at Gusto for the first time. We were blown away! We went on a Saturday night and the house/techno music was banging. The crowd is younger(i am aging myself now!) but everyone was really nice. There was enough space to dance so you weren’t sweating all over everyone. I would definitely go back again.

One of my favourite clubs of all time! Now don’t get me wrong, I love guvernment, but this EDM club takes the cake. EDM literally gives me life, and a club full of it?! I’m in heaven. The bouncers are pretty nice. There was one time my friend and I decided to go last minute and didn’t want to pay cover, so we told the bouncer we called in last minute to reserve guestlists spots and they were simply like«I’ll let you in, make sure you have enough time next time!» Sweeeet. I’m not too sure about cover price every time though, but saturdays is free cover for guestlist(?) This club is pretty narrow at the front but it leads all the way back into a decent sized dance floor. The lighting and atmosphere is crazy, and it makes it rave worthy. The booths are pretty decent, and seating is comfortable. No squishy seating where you have to be pressed up against each other. This crowd is so much more different than most clubs! Since it is an EDM based club, most people here are here for the music and just want to have fun and rave! No creepy guys that want to dance behind you and feel you up.(Of course there are a few everywhere, but definitely a lot fewer than any other) The crowd is super friendly, and will straight up rave with anyone– it’s like a rave family here. The music is on point and you can always dance to it. There are spots where it is crowded and people are just crazy jumping, but there are also spots on the side where I can shuffle(rave dance, ja feel?) They also host really cool DJ’s that know what they’re doing. The worst thing is probably the bartender service, the female bartenders usually only respond to males. I was dying of thirst at the end of the night, and waited at the bar saying ‘excuse me’ for around 10 minutes and being rejected by 2 bartenders before I decided to just leave. Ps. when you see girls here in high heels, pencil skirts and tight bodycon dresses. you know they’ve never been to UNIUN before.

Uniun is really a nice looking club. Overall I am a fan. I would recommend this to people looking for a place to party and dance. And I will return. The lights and sound system are really good. The layout is ideal with a chill out area in the basement allowing you to have conversations. The bar staff all seem very nice and friendly. And I like the effort they make with regards to the models and the different themes they have every night. Bathrooms are large and clean. Prices are reasonable for a downtown nightclub. The door staff can are pretty good. Respectful and direct. It really depends on the type of music you like. Check the DJ before you decide to go. Sunday Nights are good!

The line here gets very long and very aggressive — either come early or come be prepared to wait in line with some very very drunk people. We arrived at 11pm for a Friday night concert and waited in like until 12:30 — someone threw up on our friend during the wait. The line was basically a huge, chaotic mob — people jumping the line left and right. A couple of girls cut their fingers pretty badly trying to lift up the metal fence separating the ticket holders from the non-ticket holders. A pretty crazy scene to start the night. Definitely quite a few boys in tanks with very coiffed hair, and more than one Macklemore fur jacket in view. Bouncers seemed to already have too much on their hands to be civil or even present most of the time. Came for a house concert. The inside is absolutely awesome — amazing LED lights all over the place, and wall lights too that sync with the music. The crowd is very attractive — late teens and early twenties, a lot of very tight clothing and masks of makeup. The place was packed when we went, and the ground was littered with glass. VERY rude bartenders who just ignored us when we tried to get drinks; they also just generally sucked as bartenders. We watched as they poured rows of shots for other people — a more than a third were literally only half filled. As expected, drinks were overpriced. Unfortunately, they’re pretty strict about bringing in flasks and made us throw out all of our bottles(including our sealed water bottles). No water fountain meant our sorry, dehydrated asses had to shell out for bottles later in the evening.

For the first time in a long time a night club blew me away. It has everything, the total package. Great Music, Slick décor, Hot Staff(like unreal), and a light show that would trip out even those not partaking in recreational drug use. Décor is comfortable and stylish, a far cry from the what used to be the white wash of Devils martini. Steel arches as you move about the main area and dance floor. A long bar takes up the left side of the room — I was fortunate enough to be apart of a VIP bottle service group so I didn’t have use for the bar much… but from afar look well stocked and fab! I think Uniun essentially stole the best looking bottle service girls, waiters, bartenders, etc from every other bar/lounge/club in Toronto. FELLAS this is the place for you and tip them well(or I’ll find you) ha ha. Seriously though ladies of Uniun you were all gorgeous. Music here was on point! I’m not huge into the EDM scene BUT I still appreciate and enjoy the art of well mixed(non-pop) tracks, spun live by DJ’s. And if Saturday night is supposed to be a more mainstream night then Friday must really be off the hook! Any club that drops a Lady Gaga, or Brittany spears mix, or any top 40 track for that matter — should be closed and potentially burned down as an example(I kid… but seriously that stuff makes my ears bleed). Uniun is for people who enjoy the music you would here at The Guvernment but who don’t want to associate themselves with the drug culture and sketch bags who occasionally frequent that place. Now I’ve told you about the music, the décor and the staff… how about I tell you about my top 3 fave things about this place: 3) The people — quite possibly one of the best looking crowds in Toronto. Mal/Female, everyone brings great style and for my money being a seasoned people watcher — Holy Hell — the people don’t get much better looking(for the most part — there is always a few cave dwellers in the mix). 2) The Light Show — Hundreds of LED powered light bars hang form the ceiling above and the light up in a unique series that i can only describe as more beautiful then fireworks! 1) The basement lounge — Looking for the bathrooms I was directed down the stairs at the rear of the dance floor just past the DJ booth. Fe-nominal! A small bar serves a virtualy empty lower lounge area where I’m told normally there are pool tables. I wish I could do this space justice with words but it is truly something your eyes need to see for yourself. Wall to wall couches, reprieve from the music above, candles… amazed! Looks like my new-found bromance with Uniun is going to have me visiting far more often then I had anticipated. Time to break out the two-tone shirts, tight jeans, v-necks and dancing shoes!
