The owner was very polite about my last review and mentioned they are still working on things and that I should try coming back. I’ve been back a couple times since and have noticed that the preparation and quality of the food has once again improved. New sushi chefs? New management? The reason doesn’t really matter. I look forward to coming back in the future.

This is my go-to sushi place. Not only are the prices great(reeeeally affordable), the staff are so lovely. We are always greeted and thanked endlessly for our custom. I find the bento boxes to be excellent value-and the presentation is excellent considering it’s quite a cheap little joint(flowers made of cucumber, etc). Highly recommended!!!

Quick service, artfully presented rolls. I had the vegetarian dragon roll which consisted of crisp yam tempura and perfectly sliced avocado draped over top, finished with a crunchy piece of taro root.

It’s right by the train station and I was craving sushi, therefore, gave it a go. I was aware of the bad reviews when I had book marked this, however, I never get anything beyond my avocado and cucumber roll. I thought to myself, «how bad can it be, they can’t possibly f*ck up something as simple as an avocado and cucumber roll.» I stand corrected. I am not sure if there was too much vinegar and or sugar in the rice mix, however, it tasted off balance and un-pallet able. Thankfully it was cheap, however, still waste of a trip. Customer service was friendly which is why it earns and extra star.

I used to love this place, i always got the bc roll and now its crumby dry deep fried salmon wrapped in rice and seaweed. The place around the corner is better for BC rolls. This place may look nice but my order of sushi kinda went to crumbles for me. RIP

First time here… But after today, doubt I ever be coming back here! Took 20mins just a to order… And only after I actively searched for the waitress! Had to ask a few times for water and green tea again… You’d imagine with only 3 tables(11 customers) 2 staff should be sufficient… But not at all! One girl only stands behind the till while the other has to attend to everyone… In the end… I’d say probably one of the worse sushi experiences in vancouver… Food was ok… The real crab tasted like rubber… No idea how old it was! The farm salmon was almost mushy, seemed old… And the wild salmon sashimi was still frozen! Not to mention the dirty glass they gave me for water!

I have been here so many times within the last year and every time, it has been a pleasure. The staff are extremely friendly(even though they don’t speak English perfectly, they are so enthusiastic and willing to make you happy), the food is always really good(they seem to always be sold out of toro though — however, the owner has contacted me and let me know that to ensure some toro in the future, you should call ahead to reserve some), and the prices are super fair for what you get, which is really delicious and well-portioned Japanese cuisine! I have gone with so many different groups of friends and have probably ordered everything off the menu and I have never once hated anything I had there; I am a picky eater too so this is saying quite a bit! Their Happy Combo is my favourite because you get 2 rolls/cones and 1 appetizer and it comes with miso soup. There has never been a time I walked out of there unsatisfied or unhappy. The manager there is really engaged and involved in making sure everyone dining there is happy.

Super friendly staff! Owners must have changed cause I noticed portions are smaller and the rice tends to be a little warmer, making things a bit soggy, but the food overall is pretty on point. Their takoyaki and fried foods = amaze! Price overall is great, location is great, but I’m disappointed in their obviously smaller portions

The sushi chefs(what are they called?!?) greets everyone who walk inside the establishment. First time visiting since the renovations and it seems like it still keeps a steady stream of patrons and for very good reason; their service level, food & pricing are great. There green tea is AMAZING. It’s served at the perfect temperature for immediate consumption and taste so yummy! I don’t recall everything that my guest & I ordered however the presentation of the sushi was excellent creating excitement to chow down & the freshness, texture, smell & flavour of it all was enjoyable to the very last bit.

I came here in September before a concert and the people working were super nice :) I didn’t sample too much of the menu(I just ordered a roll or 2) but I had no complaints. I’d come back here again probably.

This place is cute and has great food! I think what I got was called the Broadway Combo, the crispy roll was so good! The nigiri was so fresh, seriously the tuna was some of the freshest I’ve had, perfect. The miso soap had lots of big tofu chunks and the service was very sweet and polite. I overheard the server dealing with a very rude couple that must have been in a rush, she handled it with a lot of tact. This will be my sushi spot when I’m in the area. Also, A+ for the tunes! My friend and I were laughing and singing along, we even got a backstreet boys song stuck in our head afterwards.

I seem to end up here once a month. Usually just before an Improv Against Humanity. I can’t say I’ve sampled much of their menu. They’ve got a great dinner special that gets you a miso soup, a hot appy and the choice of two rolls of a cut down version of their menu. I always end up getting the salmon roll, spicy tuna cone and the spicy chicken karage. All the food here is good, not great, but good. The $ 9 for this dinner combo makes it amazing value!

The customer service was perfect! They were all very attentive! The sushi was good, it was not the best I’ve ever had but no complaints. I got 2 rolls and an appetizer with miso soup for $ 9 so I would have to say I loved the price. It is also very conveniently located close to the skytrain station so why not give it a shot and see what you think!

I really had zero expectations as to coming here, this was just to fulfill a meeting place and the all so important meal of lunch. Walking in, I know this place has been here long enough, long enough for me to choose so many other options, but I did not have control of this meal, and I allowed the person I was with to dictate eating arrangements, also lets me take a look at places like these that otherwise I would dodge clear, way clear! I entered, and as an eye sore all you see is old green leather fabric on the built in booths of this place for seating, it’s an odd place, they have booths running along the middle and moveable tables on the sides. Practically we were greeted and to seat ourselves during their lunch run. The menu is pretty extensive, with a whole bunch of mish-mash combo’s for lunch, and a la carte from sushi to cooked food, your typical Chinese owned Japanese restaurant. We came to that time of ordering, as I wasn’t feeling too hungry, I chose the nabeyaki udon, and the person I was with decided on a lunch box, standard chicken teriyaki, with 6 Cali rolls, some side salad and some tempura with dipping sauce. The food was your stereotypical food, liveable, passable, that I would have usually given a 3. since I can’t give a 2.5… what dropped it was two things. One was that a patron was trying to enter, and he was in a wheelchair and was having a heck of a time coming in, where I had to go help and hold the door, and I know the waitress saw him before I noticed the problem, the second was paying for the bill, where we got the change, but no receipt, you have to realize, whether a business lunch or not, some people like to keep record of their expenditure, tsk tsk! Add this up to another mediocre Vancouver Japanese restaurant…

This sushi restaurant is one that no one should go out of there way for. This is a cheap eats, basic service kind of deal. I drop by here when I’m in the neighborhood, but that’s the only reason I’d come. Pure convenience. From my many times here, I feel like it is often the customers are often more friendly and polite than the servers. The people who work here often look rushed, and though I’ve never had anyone here be rude to me, they certainly don’t say much. :P Sushi could be fresher, but again: cheap and located close to the skytrain. Sometimes that’s all you need.

This place gets pretty bum reviews both on Unilocal and in real life, but I’ve had almost exclusively pleasant experiences here. They have good prices, a good vegetarian selection(carrot tempura roll!) and super cheap Chinese beer. I wouldn’t take someone here for a date, but if I’m nearby and don’t feel like traveling North on Commercial to grab a quick bite, Broadway sushi always does the trick and leaves me satisfied! The service is always fast and attentive, and I’m generally in and out in just the time it takes me to do the Metro crossword. A perfect lunch!

I used to eat here weekly until I started realizing that the washrooms never. have. soap. Take from that what you will, but in my books it is now known as Dirty Hands Sushi, and I will not go back(no matter how yummy and cheap their food is). FYI, food inspection reports…

What the ffffffffffffuck?! So in my last review of this place i mentioned that i had never eaten here in the restaurant before. Well last night I finally did for the first and probably LAST time. My mom and i came here for a quick dinner and were eating our a-ok meals when one of the servers brought out three HUGE bowls of food and plopped them down on the empty table beside us. We looked curiously over as they weren’t anything we could figure out from the menu(we weren’t actually sure what exactly they were… Something like looked like bones with stringy meat around them in one dish, a bright yellow soup broth in another and some greens in the last bowl) and they looked big enough for ten people to eat. Turns out it was dinner for the staff, and in groups they hurried over to the table to chow down. But no, it wasn’t just dinner, turns out it was actually a contest amongst the staff of who could gross out my mother and I more. Would it be the man who made INSANELYLOUD, SLOPPYANDWET slurping noises?!(I should note, they actually all slurped, but one amongst them was the king of nasty food noises). Or would it be the other guy who inhaled his food in three seconds? No, actually, in a twist ending, it was tie. A tie of epic proportions between the girl and the guy who who dip the chicken in the broth, put the whole thing in their mouth to knaw the meat off the bone, then spit the bone out. Onto the table. Let me reiterate: they put food in their mouths, chewed it, then spat out the bone ONTOTHETABLE, making a little pile of bone oozing in broth and spit. After they were declared the victor of the gross out contest, the remaining staff finished their meals and cleared the table… But they didn’t wipe it off. So for the rest of our meal my mother and i got to see the saliva/broth puddle slowly trickle its way to edge of the table(apparently the table is slightly slanted) and slowly, ever so slowly, drip onto the floor. Alright people, do whatever you want in your own home, BUTFORTHELOVEOFEVERYTHINGYOUHOLDDEAR, why would you do that in front of customers?!
