The service is superior compared to other SPG hotels that I have been to. Juliana was spectacular. She even noticed my Invisalign and had a conversation about her experience, which I didn’t mind. My coffee was refilled on time 3x, my omelet was good(except I didn’t want cheese and it was added), and the OJ was tasty. The continental breakfast isn’t good, but the upgrade to the buffet was decent with my platinum status(+10.05CAD). Selection is okay, but nothing special. On par with most SPG hotel buffets. I would go here again if Juliana is my server.

We somewhat grudgingly ended up here after finding out that the Westin’s «Seawall Bar & Grill» was still closed for the season, and that Cardero’s had a 90 minute wait for a table. But in the end we were pleasantly surprised. Ambience is in line with your standard hotel restaurant. An open and not particularly intimate space, with awful coloured/patterned carpeting. I’m not docking any stars for this because, well… it’s a hotel restaurant and it looks exactly like you’d expect it to. We sat by the window and had a nice view of the courtyard and pool, with the North Shore mountains in the background. The service was friendly and reasonably efficient. It’s a casual hotel restaurant; not a fine dining establishment. The food, however, turned out to be way better than our expectations. It was on the pricey side, but it was REALLYGOOD! There were six of us, and we all thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. The short ribs, in particular, were a real hit. Everything was fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. There was nothing«hotel-ish» about this food. It was delicious. One thing that really impressed me was that the children’s menu had offerings beyond the standard pizza, chicken strips and grilled cheese that you usually see. My toddler son was able to order a children’s portion of grilled chicken breast, served with steamed vegetables(broccoli, carrots, snap peas and beets) and mashed potatoes. It was delicious and healthy, and only $ 10. Another point in this restaurant’s favour is that because it is located in a hotel, we could take our son out to the spacious lobby to run around a bit while the rest of the adults lingered over wine. It was nice to not have to rush out of there as soon as he started getting restless. It was sort of an accident that we ended up eating here, but we live in the neighbourhood and will definitely be back again.
