Amazing waffles! Save them as a treat! The place is small and always busy. Give yourself 15 – 20 extra minutes to be seated. I have tried 4 till now and all of them are my favorites.

I’m a huge fan of waffles and we are so lucky to have so many great places in the city. As with all waffle places, the restaurant is very small and gets packed quite quickly. Have no fear though because they have to go options! I had two of the mini waffles — French vanilla custard and chocolate. Both were amazing and affordable also! Just $ 2 each. They were well worth it! Will be back to sit down and give the actual menu a try!

Best waffles I’ve ever had! Try the Brasilliene with the soft waffles. It gets pretty crowded so good luck with finding seats. The people eat and move along fast so if you see someone get up ask nicely for their table and you’ll have a great time.

My second time in Vancouver and I just had to come back to eat here for the second time! The waffles are to die for! The place is small and super busy so expect to wait a little before getting a seat. We got the bresilienne liege this time and last time, and also this time we tried the dame blanche liege too. I can’t describe how light and fluffy, but slightly chewy they were but the main thing is they aren’t too sweet either! Highly recommend this place!

Their waffle was very delicious. Tasty, the outside was crispy and it was very flavorful. The service however was disappointing. It’s a very tiny shop and crowded. I went in line and I was second in line for 15 – 20 min. I didn’t know what was going on, ppl kept going in front of me and ordering(they might’ve been already seated and coming up to re-order). Then the waffle cook asked the person BEHIND me what they wanted to order and if it was for there or Togo… Ok? When it was finally my turn, I ordered, sat down, got my order in about 5 – 10 min.

For the price here it’s around $ 10 per person with your choice of either a crispy or soft waffle. It’s a very small place with only a few tables but the atmosphere here is definitely lively. Shared two waffles between three of my friends and myself and was surprisingly quite small in terms of their portions. I was surprised that the waffle was no bigger than a DVD disc but there was a generous serving of whip cream with the one I ordered that had various fresh fruits. I had heard previously their waffle sizes were a lot bigger so I was a bit disappointed with the turnout. However, the taste is absolutely stellar and I can say it’s probably one of the best waffles I’ve ever had but for the price it would only be a treat for every now and then.

Best Belgian Waffles in Vancouver! Waffles are so yummy here! I have yet to find a place comparable. The actual waffle is very good, they are made to order. They have two types of waffles, liege(which is sweeter) and Brussels(bigger but not too sweet and more crispy) I like both types of waffle! Expect a long wait if you are wanting to dine in. The space they have isn’t very big. I would of given Neros a 5⁄5 if the wait wasn’t too long and because they downgraded their ice cream to a lower grade. Yes, you can tell the difference lol!

This place is a staple of Vancouver eating. There’s very often no seats so prepare to wait. I always get the Brussels fruity waffle with chocolate drizzle instead of whipped cream. One complaint I have about this place is that their options come with way too much whipped cream, which makes it devalued in my mind. The fruity waffle does so much justice, there’s actually a lot of fruit on it. I love the lightness of the Brussels waffle. I also get the mini liege waffles to go since those are also very deliciously flavoured and my family loves them. I’ll continue to come back to this place

A bit pricey, but it smells so good you can’t say no. They offer a few variations of waffles. I can’t remember what they called them, so I’ll describe them instead. 1) a softer, fluffier waffle that is just the right amount of light sweetness that I like(2) a denser, smaller waffle [the liege?] and(3) mini lieges. I’d recommend getting the softer fluffier one with all the fruit on top — you get things from Kiwi, strawberry, blueberry, peaches to bananas. Plus whip cream on on the side! I also tried the one with hazelnut and caramel, but thought it was far too heavy on the whip cream and would not get it again. Overall, cute date night dessert spot.

It’s great. Nice small business. Had a waffle with ice cream and Oreo crumbles. It was FREAKING awesome. I don’t do coffee but it looked really good and sophisticated. They seem to do some food but we went just for dessert. We expected that it might be good and everyone cleared their plate. Simply fantastic. Somehow $ 8-$ 9 for a waffle with ice cream seems reasonable here. And that is magic.

Walked and drove by this place a few times but never stopped. Decided to try this place out after dinner with a few friends. Cute little shop that is on Robson Street and it is a perfect place for dessert. It does get busy as the space inside is fairly small. I had the Bresilienne Brussels Waffle which was topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzled with walnuts, caramel and a dollop of whip cream. The toppings complimented the waffle perfectly. My friend had the Biscuit Waffle which was topped off with crushed oreos and dark belgian chocolate sauce along with a dollop of whip cream. I can’t remember what my third friend had. To be honest we should have just shared one perhaps two as the portions are quite large. But we decided to over indulge. If you like waffles, then this place is a must!

Passed by many times and simply did not feel like joining the long lines in the cold and rain. Finally stopped by, dressed for the rain and cold. Wait was about 5 minutes to order, another 10 minutes to get our take out order. Take out because the inside seating was full(4 tables or so seating about 10 – 15 people tops) and outside seating is simply not comfortable in the cold. Smelled so good in the little store! Ordered whatever their thick waffle is called with fresh fruit. Granted the presentation contributes to the experience but we didn’t have that luxury. Portion was tiny for $ 10. Small portion of fruit and cream on top. Waffle was OK, expected something amazing given all the raving here. Bordering on chewy. Not sweet enough. Disappointing. What I did appreciate is their«silverware» which was wooden, and I could recycle that.

Calling all those who love all things waffle… Nero is your new best friend! Wow, seriously just WOW! This adorable little shop, located on the far end of Robson Street, is tucked up among the many shops and restaurants along the mature tree lined neighbourhood. With a Starbucks on one side, and a cannabis dispensary on the other(insert stoner waffle joke here), it can be easy to miss — but the one dead give-away is the line of people salivating with their mobiles in hand, ready to insta pic a waffle montage. Once you do order, you get seated and wait for the fluffy, Belgium classics, to arrive. They have a fabulous assortment of teas, as well as an espresso machine(but no washroom — so don’t drink too much). And then you realize that the wait was worth it the minute you take a bite… I had the Chevre goat cheese savoury waffle wit toasted pine nuts and plump raspberries; and I ate every last bite despite it being HUGE! I can’t wait to come back to Van to get another taste of Brussels best!

LOVETHISPLACE! The Only downfall is its super tiny!!! they have outdoor seating but in this weather its too cold to sit outside even with the outdoor heating. Pricey but well worth it! always get the Bresilienne but remove the hazelnut and add strawberries and nutella cost about $ 12.00 But I devour that in 10 Minutes or less. DELICIOUS and My favorite! I always bring my friends who have never tried it so basically I devirginize their Nero’s experience. lol Always Friendly and accommodating Customer Service from the Hello to the Goodbye! :)

Been here for dessert many times and ALWAYS choose the Bresilienne Brussels. Its the lightest waffle i’ve had and the toppings compliment it perfectly. With ice cream, whipped cream and hazelnuts drizzled with caramel, you can’t go wrong with this choice. I have also tried their Biscuit and fruity which although were both good, I was regretting my choice a little bit. Finally, their mini waffles are leige waffles that are a bit chewier and heavier but just as good. I got a few the other day including plain, vanilla custard, chocolate, almond and maple pecan. They’re a great treat and my family LOVES this place. Expensive but not much more than other waffle places but still one of the best.

This review is based on service and operation more then on the waffles. I had the liege waffle, nice flavors and texture(4 solid stars!!). We came Sunday afternoon, it was quite in there(4 people), there was no line up and we were next to order. There were 5 people working in there. We ordered our waffle and waited for it for just over 10 minutes. It is a long wait for a waffle especially when there are no people and more staff then customers. Now I know why there is a long line up there, because all you need is 5 customers to create it!!! Please train your staff to be more efficient. You don’t need 5 people behind 5 sq feet counter! I will only go in there when there is no line up. If I have extra half an hour for a waffle.

What hits the spot better than a sweet waffle dessert after dinner? After dinner my friend and I went to her favourite waffle dessert place(Nero Belgian Waffle Bar). Me I’m a waffle virgin! I don’t know much about waffles… My waffle experience is almost exclusively restricted to Eggo Waffles! I guess a lot of the eating establishments are small on Robson street cuz this place may hold maybe 20 people? We waited for 15 mins for a table. I ordered the Mocha waffle on and she ordered the Orange Mousse with strawberries. Both desserts were really good. My Mocha was a bit too rich for me. It had a lot of whip cream and ice cream on it. My friend’s waffle was better. It was not laden with whip cream and ice cream. I think next time I come I’ll order something a bit more fruity with less of the creamy stuff. Still overall Nero is a pretty good dessert place. I don’t know how I did it but I ate the whole thing!

Ok so Nero’s food deserves a 4* cuz its tasty and everything I look for in a waffle. Its light fluffly on the inside, and crispy on the outside, exactly what you’d want! We came on a thursday night with a party of 6 at around 10. Its not exactly spacious, and there are seats still outside underneath their outdoor heaters. The seats inside are full, but we don’t mind sitting seperately. But the guy still asks us to wait outside. Now keep in mind its night time, in the Winter, and we do have some older people in the group. If the place was packed I’d kind of understand, but its not like its a Friday/Saturday night where there’s a huge line up. I ask if we can wait inside, and the guy kinda rolls his eyes and asks if we can wait outside again. I tell him its kinda cold and just leave it at that(sorry brah). Back onto topic at hand, the waffles. Are SOGOOD. Also their coffee! I had the green tea matcha latte! It had a great green tea taste and still had a sweet after taste. The London fog is also very tasty. The manger as well didn’t really have great service either. They had a table of 4 that they let us squeeze onto. Then the manager makes a big deal of having to grab another chair for us(there were only 5 available for whatever reason). While she’s doing this the large table opens up so we move over there instead. So she makes a big deal of grabbing the chair us moving, and then she kinda wasted her time grabbing the chair? do you want us to eat here? anyways the waffles are great! just service, as maverik R. wrote, is not exactly the best…

During our day trip to Vancouver, the wife noticed Nero as a nearby place to grab a bite to eat on Unilocal as we tried to figure out what to do next at Stanley Park. Being the waffle lover that she is, we had to give the place a try. Parking her is street, though we found an underground garage about a block away to park at. Nero has both indoor and outdoor seating, though we opted to sit inside. You place your order and pay up front, and your waffles are brought out to you. Water is self-serve. Here you have a choice of waffle style, Brussels or Liege. For our waffles, we both went with Brussels style, while I opted for the Fruity($ 8.90), while the wife ordered the Chèvre Doux($ 9). The wife also ordered a small Liege to-go. The waffles themselves, either type, were good, but weren’t like those we had in Brussels, Belgium. Not even close. Is it fair to compare to the original? Not really, but once you’ve had it, it’s hard not to. That being said, what I think really makes or breaks the waffles here are the toppings. My Fruity wasn’t really anything special. It’s just whatever fresh fruit they could find with a little whipped cream and powdered sugar. The wife’s Chervre Doux, on the other hand, was great! It was a waffle topped with fresh goat cheese, caramelized pine nuts, rocket/arugula, and raspberries. It was a nicely balanced, inventive, savory waffle and something I’d order again.

I’m embarrassed to say, but I need maple syrup on my waffles. I ventured to Nero Belgian Waffle Bar to change my mind about syrup, and it worked! We tried 4 different Brussels-style waffles, which were indeed light and fluffy, and full of flavor! The waffles seemed a little small when they arrived, but they were surprisingly filling. My favorite was the fruity waffle, which had freshly cut fruit on top, and arranged like a rainbow. I was able to substitute the whipped cream for ice cream(nothing better than eating ice cream for my first meal of the day!). In my opinion, the other star of Nero is the London Fog latte, which I was not familiar with. This drink is a must-order item! The earl grey latte was infused with lavender and house-made vanilla, with extra thick and flavorful foam! I also got to try the mocha, which had espresso whipped cream and ice cream. The savory ones were good too. I just wish there was a heartier protein to accompany the cheese. Final plus in my book – their coffee drinks use beans from 49th Parallel Coffee Roasters, which was also one of my top stops during my visit to Vancouver.

Estava esperando aquela massa tradicional, nada demais, mas não, o waffle derretia na boca! Uma delícia!!! Fiquei com pena quando ele terminou. Comi o de banana com nutella. Vale a ida.

This is a nice small venue for a Waffle bar. It has a nice feel to the inside, can get quite noisy when its full, which is was when I was visiting. Not my favourite waffle in downtown Vancouver but it was very well made, the toppings were delicious and I might return to try a different variety than I tried on this visit. The whipped crème was tasty and so was the ice crème. The waffle was light and crunchy but it didn’t hold its own when I tried to put my fork in it. It kinda flattened out easily and made it more difficult to eat the waffle.

Yummy waffles at a decent price! It’s a pretty small shop located between a McDonald’s and a dispensary. PROS — Beautifully photogenic waffles that also happen to be yummy — Quick service — You can watch them make the waffles fresh — Options to customize CONS — Small inside seating area(when it’s cold, you definitely don’t want to be sitting outside) — No savory options — You get less ice cream than at Le Petit Belge Overall, I prefer Le Petit Belge over Nero’s. The price and quality are about the same, but Nero’s gives you a little bit less.

Oh geez. Liege waffles done right! Brussels waffles were light, but not my favorite. We ordered 4 waffles, take out. Three were«heaven» and one«banella». Naturally, I also took home 5 minis — 3 original and 2 chocolate liege. All made fresh, and non stop as the line up was long at near 8pm. Fresh cut fruit, real whipped cream, generous portion. Hot spot down Robson tonight! I would recommend this as a spot to hit up for brekky or late night. Wouldn’t mind trying their savory options also.

Excellent small small place churning out great waffles! We walked in the rain to come to this place after dinner and it was totally worth it! It’s a small place, which I wasn’t a fan of but the cozy setting grew on me as soon as we got seated! I got the waffle with caramel ice cream and it was delicious!!! The waffle was slightly warm which was great because the ice cream was melting on it. The caramel was perfectly sweet and a tad salty which was perfect!!! Even though it’s a small place, they churn out great waffles combo’s! Usually there is a line up out the door for people taking away orders!

We finally had to try liege waffles and they are good. But they are so small for the price. Even the Brussels waffles looked kind of small for what you are getting. The place is tiny and there isn’t much room to sit down especially for families or groups. People were eyeing us as we were finishing up. We felt a bit rushed. Friendly service though. I’m glad I tried it but wouldn’t go out of my way to get this type of dessert again. IT wasn’t special enough for me. Kids loved it though.

My only complaint about Nero Belgian Waffle Bar is that it is too small. There is always confusion around the counter as there is usually a long line and servers trying to squeeze through the line of people. Other than that, this place is amazing! The waffles are made right in the back of the counter so you may have to wait a while as they make it to order! This place also gets quite busy so be patient, its worth it! You have an option of liege(soft) or Brussels(kindda crunchy) waffles. The liege waffles look smaller but they are my favorite! You can also get sweet or savory waffles. I have tried both kinds, I personally prefer the sweet but the savory are good too! My number one go to is the bresilienne!!! Omg!!! Hazelnut deliciousness in my mouth! Last time my boyfriend and I made a mistake by ordering one to share. We then almost broke up when he took the last bite– don’t put yourself through that kind of stress, the waffles are less than $ 10, get your own! The staff here are super friendly! I can’t imagine they ever have bad days– if they do, they do an awesome job at hiding it! Enjoy!!! I know you will :)

My first time here was not as good as my second visit. The waffle i had was the banana with nutella. Presentable is beyond pretty but the waffle was just full of air, it was totally bland waffles if i didnt rub nutella on it. Choosing«Brussles»(light waffle) was disappointing. Today was my second attempt and has waffle with fruits on top and chose«leige» its more waffley because of the sweet & savoury and not airy at all. Now i know how to order… next, i hope they dont rush taking orders cuz its a very tiny place with a very long line up.

My girlfriend and I were walking off our dinner when I realized that Nero was right around the corner! We popped in and only had to wait in line for 15mins. The service was fairly quick. We opted to sit outside, which I definitely recommend since it gets pretty hot inside. We got our treats pretty quickly! I got the fruity waffle(on soft and sweet), and I subbed 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream instead of whipped cream(best decision ever!). You have to try it – it’s too good! Enjoy!

Located on Robson Street, Nero is a tiny waffle bar that serves delicious waffles. So delish it should be a crime. Had the Brésilienne Belgium waffle with caramel sauce, whipped cream, and vanilla ice cream(peep the pic). It probably adds up to 12341 calories but who cares? I’m starting my diet tomorrow. Small place but no lineups on a Monday evening. People are super friendly. Overall a great little place to snack after a stroll along Robson. Tip: sit outside on a cool summer night. The space is small and it can get stuffy inside.

Nero Belgian Waffle Bar is located on the end of Robson Street and it serves sweet and savoury waffles and 49th Parallel coffee. I asked my hubby to go for waffles as dessert, he refused at beginning coz he said no one would have breakfast after dinner. I told him waffles aren’t just for breakfast and brunch, can be tea time snack and dessert! Of coz, we went and checked it out. The menu selection is great but small, you can choose the type of waffle either Brussels(light and crispy) or Leige(soft and sweet) with the toppings. Savoury toppings: brie with walnuts and honey; Havarti, arugula, grape tomatoes and grainy mustard; and spicy tuna salad with hard-boiled egg and green onion. Sweet offerings are all topped off with whipped cream and drizzles of Belgian chocolate. We had Oreo biscuit and ice cream leige and orange with dark chocolate brussels. Both were good and tasty. I personally like bruessels and mocha(real dark chocoate) more! My stomach so satisifed when we left.

I have been to Vancouver at least 4 times since I wrote the last review. I remember the place being quiet and cozy but still busy. My most recent trip was a blast, and of course, I took my mother to this joint to have some delicious belgian waffles. This time, the line was out the door. We had to wait at least 30 minutes(in the rain) to get a seat inside. It is crazy how places change over time. While I do not like waiting so much for delicious food, I am really pleased that Nero has done so well over the past few years. If they are reading this post, I really hope they come down to the US and open up a small shop!(Specifically in Sawtelle in Los Angeles). I usually go for the fruity waffles since everything is just so fresh. I switch it up between the liege or the brussels since I can never choose. Usually on my trips up to Vancouver, I go to this place at least 3x. Their lattes are also quite nice. On a rainy day, sharing a warm waffle and drink is the best medicine to a cold day. Side note: Pick up their mini waffle bites to go – I always get them before heading out to fly back to the States… so delicious. Until next time Nero!

Freakin’ awesome waffles. Simple as that. If you don’t feel like waiting 45 – 60 minutes for a table at one of the other brunch spots on the West End(which is exactly the situation I was in on a Sunday morning/afternoon), Nero is what you’re looking for. After perusing the other reviews, it looks like some folks had to wait 45+ minutes for a table and/or food, so take this with a grain of salt, but I walked right up and ordered and had a delicious Bresilienne Waffle sitting in front of me after a total of 15 minutes. It is a very small store, so I can imagine that it can be cramped and difficult to navigate at peak hours. But if the line is too much, you should be able to tell by the line outside pretty quickly and alter course before it’s too late. I would recommend sucking it up and just waiting if there aren’t too many people in the store already. I love the sweet and savory options(mostly sweet, but who can fault them for that?). I’ve only tried the Bresilienne, but literally every option looked tasty and I will definitely go back next time I’m in Vancouver. Most waffles have chocolate on them in some capacity, so if you aren’t a fan of chocolate, it will narrow down your choices a little bit. Everything is relatively inexpensive as well. You can have a delicious breakfast for under $ 10. Granted, it’s a very sugary breakfast and you’ll likely be hungry before long, but you knew what you were getting yourself into when you decided to come here. The only complaint would be that they close at 11pm. If they served these waffles until the bars closed, they would make a killing!
