Great addition to Davie Street. A simple yet cool half-submerged space. I had the mushroom pizza which was incredible.

We went here for Pizza, having previously picked up pizza at this location. The renovations are great, service was perfecto, and the pizza we had was delicious. We took the excess home and enjoyed it the next day too. This place is tucked downstairs so easy to miss… DON“T MISSIT! Though it lacks the view, the space is intimate and cozy. Looking forward to going back and trying other menu items and especially to sitting on the patio once weather allows.

Great and easy location for a dinner. Had an amazing Salamis appetizer — really italian and best in town. Big enough to share especially when you have pizza as a main. Pizza was great and very italien too, a little bit too much cheese — but I guess thats the Canadian influence ;-) House wine is good as well, if you want to take it easy! Will go back again soon. My friend told me that the washrooms were not great. So definitely something to improve!

We found this place on Foodster Blackboard and we decided to tried this place for something new at the Westend. When we got there, I was surprise by the renovation changes that they made from an old pizza place to a welcoming Italian restaurant(I loved the wooden panels). I recommended you to make a reservation ahead, which we did, because this is a small restaurant and usually gets pack quickly. On that night, we ordered the Gnocchi and the Muffuletta pizza. The Gnocchi was great. We loved the mushroom ragout, pork belly and gnocchi combination, which was great in taste and fulfilling. As for the Muffuletta pizza, it was a great thin-crested pizza! The Soppressata salami, Mozzarella cheese and other ingredients gave a well-balanced Italian favor and not salty at all as I tasted in the past with other kinds of salami. Overall, we have a great time at this place. It’s also a great home-style cooking to have on the Westend because we have too many fine gourmet in downtown already.

They told me I can pick up the pizza in 15 min. I had to wait 35. The size was supposed to be 12″ but was way smaller and of a very weird shape. I hope they can improve.

Fantastic addition to the West End. Food, drinks and service were outstanding. Ordered a couple of pizzas which were delicious, the standout dish for me was the pork belly gnocchi, just wow! Check this place out, you won’t regret it!

Well knock me sideways! I still cannot fathom the level of flavour and excellence of my experience at the Grotto tonight. It’s rare to find a restaurant specializing in international cuisine that rivals that of its origin. The OssoBuco was out of this world! It was clear that the chef paid special attention and detail to every element of the flavour to be experienced with this dish. The arancini was equally delicious; the lemon accent was a nice surprise. I highly recommend this restaurant, as it marks its place upon some of the hidden treats that the West End has to offer.
