Server brought the wrong food out on several occasions when we visited, which is pretty important when my gf has allergies. However, Staff are really friendly, food is a decent price. Perfect for when you are hungover. P.s Place has been shut for around a year now, renovations only started a couple of months ago.

I love their chicken strips and fries. There is actually more chicken than coating, and the fries are nice and crunchy. I also appreciate that they have breakfast all day. My dad used to do the coffee here, and he said their kitchen was always pretty clean and organized when he went there, so that’s a plus.

Burgers and fries are great. cant be beat Breakfast i find expensive and not overly good, especially with all the places around to grab a cheaper better breakfast. Deep fried hashbrowns that are oddly spiced. I prefer pan fried or shredded. Still a good place to go for some coffee

Used to be WAY better! Two of us had breakfast here. they used to have a great breakfast special a few years back for about $ 4.99. Our breakfasts were bacon and eggs. And I had corned beef hash. Dry, tastless, overpriced. Won’t be back.

There really isn’t much to say about this place. It’s pretty basic, good comfort food.

After many brunches: great diner with great diner food and great diner staff. Tasty, good value, and consistent. Located in the heart of the West End.

Always a downtown favourite when I visit the city. The food is pretty basic, but always tasty and portions are good sized. Service was friendly on my last visit, and I would definitely recommend the French onion soup.

I’ve been coming here for thanksgiving dinners for three years now. I’m not a big fan of ham, this year I asked to have the ham substituted. The waiter said no, but that he could remove it but I would still be charged for it. Such is life. The older gentleman waiting the tables was a bit grumpy but I think was over worked, he seemed really nice when he started talking after picking up our plates. The younger server was nice as well but no one came by to table check, or ask if we wanted any more drinks or refills. The Brussels sprouts were overcooked. I’ll keep coming back, its a lovely place.

Good bang for your buck. Great location for people watching on Davie street. Surrounded by rainbows and the hustle and bustle of West end Vancouver, this retro resto serves up milkshakes, burgers, and other diner delights. There’s something for everyone here! I had the Vancouver burger and was very satisfied. Guacamole and alfalfa sprouts topped off this tasty treat. My guest and I also ordered a «boozie» milkshake each. Bella nutyellya was a delicious peanut butter shake and came with the extras in the metal milkshake cup. Our server was friendly and attentive. An awesome experience and will definitely be back!

The décor is awesome! Feel like in a snack bar in the Fifty’s. Well located on Davie you can’t miss the place. I love their Montréal breakfast! You can’t beat Quebec ham. Soooo good. No chewy stuff inside… Just plain, well seasoned and good meat. Look… They have… HOTCHICKEN! And milk shake too(a huge selection to choose from). As a sugar beast I always order the chocolate one. Their fries and chicken burgers are WHAMMY. The customers service is excellent. This place should have MOREFOUR stars review… Good Vibes!

Had their Montréal hash for brunch. It came with hash potatoes, Quebec ham, Swiss cheese and onions. Good size serving but was kinda bland. Meh! Service was good despite having only 1 server taking care of several tables. On the plus side was when we ordered iced tea, the server asked if we were visiting and proceeded to mention that their iced tea is pre sweetened and basically is super sweet. Good to know.

I ate here, while I was in Vancouver and walking around davie st, it was mid afternoon, and was craving some breakfast, which I do believe they serve all day ?? They have a large and extensive menu of standard and creative diner classics ! And although I don’t remember exactly what my breakfast dish was, it was a tasty mix of breakfast meats and cheese scrambled with eggs and served up on a grilled English muffin, it was a hearty breakfast(in the middle of the day) and service was fast and friendly ! And to top it off I had a wonderful people watching view of davie st and the colorful rainbow crosswalk !! Next time in Vancouver I will definitely give this place another try, and maybe opt for a burger next time !! They do have wifi but it was spotty at best, ask your server for the login !

large portions, fairly fast with drink refills, no– nonsense, efficient service in a no-nonsense diner. The food is what you expect of a diner: hot, edible and no unwelcome surprises later. Blue collar workers’ delight!

Solid 3.5, I always have a thing for diners and milkshakes, and while I wasn’t too crazy about the last flavour I had – English Toffee, as I should’ve stuck to my tried and true Chocolate, it’s still worth going back b/c they’ve got a big selection. Good too there’s extra in the metallic tin ;( Usually open late, like past midnite so a good place to check it out.

I eat here on a weekly basis. Always sitting at the same table, I think my arse has been imprinted on the seat. Anyways. The specials they have here are always a god send for me after ten hours at work; lifting crates and burning more calories than I intake. Nothin’ a little good ol’ diner food can’t replenish! The staff here are very nice and personable. Bonus points for any place which gives free coffee refills. *Pssst!* Drink the milkshakes! Again, it’s a diner people. Don’t come in expecting black-tie service. Just relaxed, laid back comfort food. All I’m here for.

We were just here on Friday! Our family has a traditional New Restaurant Friday and we selected Hamburger Mary’s as our new restaurant and boy am I glad we did! We were seated promptly and the waitress was super sweet and got us drinks right away. She gave us plenty of time to look over the extensive menu. Everything came out correctly(which is a surprise as I have a picky eater in my family and his order is rarely correct lol). I ordered the Sunset Martini. It was delicious and just the right thing to warm me up on a cold night. The husband and daughter each had a milkshake which they loved! The kiddo got cherry and the husband got strawberry. The husband enjoyed his so much he actually endured the cold to bring what was left of his along with us on the walk home. He could barely feel his fingers when he got home, but he said the pain was well worth it. I got the veggie burger… it was very delicious, very filling. The husband and daughter got regular burgers which they raved about all weekend. Best burgers they have had in a while. It was a great visit and I would definitely go back, especially in the summer for the patio seating. P. S. To see more like this visit my blog

One good thing about this place is the patio. Another is the location, and distance from my place. Usually a decent place for breakfast. definition of greasy spoon But, after eating there yesterday… I left feeling a little«off».so won’t be returning

I’ve been here a few times in my life, almost once a year. Service seems to decline for one reason or another, however, tolerate it. To be honest I don’t expect much from the hood, therefore, don’t write my reviews based on the customer service alone since it’s the norm in the hood. The food is great for what it is, nothing over the moon but satisfying none the less. For something that is open late night on a Saturday after a night at Celebrities… very entertaining characters. In the middle of the Village which is perfect. Milkshake specials are awesome and the 50’s-ish theme is cool.

I’ve been told that this is a West End staple. And I do like the old-school 50s diner vibe they have going on. Food was OK, but I’m probably more critical of it because of the service, which kind of ruined the whole experience. It wasn’t bad that the guy rang my credit card up for our entire check, even AFTER my friend paid for his part of the meal first. Whatever, fine, he’s scatter brained. It was that when he had brought our food earlier, he knocked over my full cup of water. On me. And you know what he said? «It’s just water.» Yeah, it’s just water, but your clumsy ass just got my entire lap wet, and you can’t even fake your sincerity in apologizing? He laughed. Hey, how about I throw a glass of ice cold water in YOUR lap, then make you go outside in the cold while you’re still wet and see how you feel. What if it had been coffee? Or someone in a really pissy mood that day? He’s lucky all I did was glare and silently curse him. Now, the food. My friend couldn’t decide between the pulled pork and the Canucks burger, and I couldn’t decide at all, so we ordered both and split it. The burger was really dry. It comes with guacamole(painstakingly not authentic and not at all spicy, more like creamy, in fact) and Swiss cheese. The pulled pork was pretty decent. Full of flavor. Half the sandwich was wet because you know, he spilled the water, but I sucked it up. It’s a very messy sandwich. Also came with coleslaw in it, but the meat was too overpowering for me to even taste it. The fries were meh. Not cold but neither hot nor warm. They were just there. I’m willing to look past certain things at my experiences in restaurants — to a point. Not this one. If I do happen to come here though, I’ll be sure to ask for another waiter if it happens to be the same one.
