I DIDNOTKNOWTHEYHAVEINTERNET! I just recently started going to this place after the other laundro-mat i used to go to decided they would start stealing some of my clothes(socks, and a shirt) because I sometimes leave my clothes in the washer 10 mins after its done due to me being too preoccupied with my phone(probably a pretty common thing they do to teach us a lesson). Anyway, back to Happy Laundry, they are pretty dang cool. lols Nice owners too.

Let me tell you a little something about mankind: we, as a species, are not especially fond of traveling however-many miles just to wash our dirty socks. Living without in-home laundry may be a First World Problem, but it’s a pain in the ass and we all know it! Unfortunately for us East Vancouver-ites, it’s an affliction all too common. I admit that when I moved in with my boyfriend and realized there was no laundry, he had to drag me back in kicking and screaming. That’s where Happy Laundry comes in! It’s owned by an older Asian couple, the lady deals with most of the laundry and tailoring, and the gentleman with key-cutting and shoe repair. It’s located basically right on Nanaimo and Hastings, a pretty central location for us in the Hastings-Sunrise area. It’s just far enough that we can justify driving if we have a huge load, and close enough that it’s no problemo to walk over with a suitcase full. But what I really like about this place is that they basically do everything, and are really accommodating about it, too. Don’t have any change on you for detergent? No problem, they’ll let you pay later! Need a key cut, but your key is bent? Don’t worry, he’ll spend 40 minutes working with you until you get it right! Tripped like a dummy and need a zipper replaced on an embarrassingly expensive boot? He’ll get it done while you fold your undies! Oh, and they have Internet, too. We all need Internet.
