It’s a little dodgy but then again not quite considering it’s located in a very residential area of East Van, and right across from a Safeway. It’s convenient for a drink since there aren’t any bars in the Collingwood area. Meh.

I have a thing for dingy ghetto-pubs for some reason. Must have something to do with the cheap beer and laid-back atmosphere. Even though many of my friends are scared of this place, I think it’s a great place to chat over a beer. There are some sketchy-looking customers once in a while, but to be honest I feel it adds to the culture. Never seen a fight or argument in the dozen or so times I’ve been here, so it’s really nothing to worry about. The beer(usually we just have Canadian) is decently priced, and the servers are always friendly. There’s a pool table in the middle if you want to mix things up, and TVs showing hockey and poker. Word on the street is that this place used to be a strip club, and the layout seems to somewhat confirm that. You can guess where the stage used to be. I’ve never had the food here but it looks cheap, and I can’t imagine it being crappy. Mental note: come here FOR dinner, not AFTER dinner. Another neat perk is that occasionally they’ll have a DJ who takes requests. It’s nothing special, but I do enjoy listening to my favourite tunes once in a while, especially since nobody else seems to submit any requests! Another friendly neighbourhood pub~
