One my first visit I had the spicy chicken ramen and added egg, broccoli and a side of gyoza. The service was quick, as was the delivery of the food. The ramen was excellent, piping hot and fresh. The servers were attentive and polite. It was all reasonably priced too. I’ll certainly be back.

Easily my favourite ramen place in Vancouver(so far). The broth is thicker/heavier than anywhere else I’ve been. I usually skip their starters, so I have no idea if they’re any good.

Broth was amazing! The thin noodles tasted like Chinese noodles, very good but not what I was expecting. I’ll have to try the thicker noodles next time. We had 4 people so had to wait outside on a Monday for 15 minutes at lunchtime.

Pretty decent ramen here. I went for the Tonkotsu Black, with a side order of Pork Soboro(spicy ground pork); the highlights for me were the noodles, cooked perfectly al dente, and the egg which was still slightly runny. The broth was lacking a little bit in kick, so I asked for some hot sauce to spice it up. The included pork was not the best I’ve ever had — its lean/fat ratio wasn’t a great blend, so strips of fat were common in the bowl. The side order of Soboro was completely bland in both flavour and spice level, and the quality of meat was low — I wouldn’t recommend getting this. As with most ramen places in Vancouver, there was a queue, the space is on the cramped side, and you may be jammed into a communal table, but that’s all part of the typical ramen package!

WOW this is some good ramen. Ok I am not just saying this because I am a ramen fan. So came here because a friend recommended it. I was lucky that I came before 6 and what that meant was no line up. Well inside was super busy but i didn’t have to wait. Score! I got the No.1 on the menu ramen and my friend got to Cha Cha Ramen which is no. 3(I believe). We both loved our ramen. The number 3 Cha Cha is crazy garlic flavor. But the smell didn’t smell like its going to kill any vampire yet. So if you order it don’t worry too much about bad breath or anything like that. The No.1 on the menu was very tasty. The soup had a strong milky taste to it. Nice and smooth brooth. 3 piece of chasu and best part is one full egg. The portion isn’t big and I have to say it premium ramen noodle for $ 12.95. This place is quite small and I don’t recommend coming here with a big group. I would say the table turn over is very quick and the food came super fast. Ramen is Japanese fast food. There are 11 staff working in the kitchen and out in the front. Kitchen is open concept. So you know everything is clean inside. I will definitely come back for good ramen!

I like the thick noodles here. They have a great texture and good chew. The pork broth is flavorful and rich here. I like the variety of toppings you can add. They put it in small saucers which makes it convenient for sharing. It’s cute hearing the Japanese staff try and say names on the waiting list. Yes there usually is a wait here but not too long usually. It’s worth the wait.

A tip from a friend led me to this awesome ramen spot. Not surprising that there’s a wait to get in here, especially on the chilly days. I waited about 10 minutes or so during peak lunch hour. TONKOTSUSPICYRAMEN($ 11.75): Pork broth, pork chashu, spicy bean sprouts, kikurage, and green onions served with thick(probably yakisoba-like) noodles. I mainly got this because I could choose the spice level. Naturally, I wanted them to make it as nuclear spicy as they dared to make it. As I knew they wouldn’t dare sacrifice flavor to attempt killing my taste buds, I received detectable, mild heat despite asking for their hottest. Perfect noodles, filling/hearty and flavorful broth. I also added a seasoned soft-boiled egg for $ 1 more. Gotta have those extra protein gainz. Especially on days where it was probably anywhere from –1 to 1 degree C, this was a much-desired stop. Great service as well. I look forward to returning here one day!

Not sure if this is just this visit but the red ramen broth seemed very thick. Actually ordered a 5 of 10 spiciness and it was average. The egg that came with the ramen was cooked perfectly. The yolk wasn’t hard and was still soft. The noodles are nice and firm and the char shiu was soft and tasty. Of course the price was a little bit higher than other ramen places but normally the food is one of the best. Except for today’s broth. Will definitely come back again and try something else.

This is my favorite ramen place! With all the new ramen places popping up in vancity, I would say jinya has the best broth so far. It lost one star because of the price.(Kintaro still wins on that). Jinya provides you with lots of topping/side dishes options, which is very nice, their in house made iced green tea is amazing! If the lineup wasn’t so crazy, I would probably go every day!

We always get the black or the red tonkatsu. The pork is tender, broth is creamy and fatty, and the noodles are chewy. All for $ 12.95 each plus tax. It’s definitely one of our favorite ramen places in town.

Small but a great place! Had the Pork Tonkatsu and w/side of chicken, egg, corn and green onions! YUM! We started with Takoyaki and gyoza and there were on point! Loved it! The tonkatsu could have been a little hotter, temperature wise but the flavor was there! SERVICE– was good, the staff was very attentive and even though it was packed, we were attended to! PRICE– I think the price is fair too for the quality and the quantity of the product you get!

My favourite Ramen place in town! Jinya No.1 Tonkotsu Black and Jinya No.3 Cha Cha Cha which is a rich pork broth with strong garlic taste were both delicious! If we get to choose the broth, noodles, and flavors, would be even better. Tapas are yummy too. $ 50 with tax and tips for two people.

I DIDN’T TRYTHERAMENTHISISFORTHECURRY. I LOVETHECURRY. I was grabbing my friend dinner for his half from work and we both wanted curry. I Unilocaled Japanese curry and Jinya popped up so I figured why not? I called to order take out so I could pick it up real quick later, and the call was super difficult. The lady and I were super nice to each other but we just were’t feeling each other. It took me like 15 minutes to order two curries to go. Anyways, the curry was really good. It’s literally just rice and curry in a bowl, no veggies or meat etc. They give you half an egg. The portion is a LOT bigger than it looks. I didn’t think it looked that big but i was SO full later. Also it was like $ 12 for two bowls of curry so… If I ever need good curry on the go I’m coming to Jinya.

So I came here on an autumn morning for a late breakfast/early lunch. I came with a beau, so we only had to wait for a table for 2 to open up. The deal is that when you arrive here, you just have to write your name down on the list, and when enough spots open up they can seat you. I did see some groups of four or 6 lining up-line ups are a consistent thing here! I have tried Jinya on 2 occasions-once for take out early 2015 and this recent time around. My it is tasty! The good thing is the variety offered here-they offer CHICKENBROTH in addition to the pork broth(so for those who do not eat pork, they can still experience ramen)~ Beau asked if I wanted any of the side dishes offered, we ordered the green beans and cashew side dish, in addition to the chicken katsu ramen and another chicken with a medium boiled egg. THEGREENBEANS were surprisingly tasty and better than the picture gave it credit for-so I recommend it. The fried chicken in ramen was spicy(i love spice and i thought it had a good kick). I liked it a lot. The other chicken ramen was also good, more mild. Yum-what a great dish for a cool or rainy day.(Then again, I’ve seen line ups in the summer!). Aside from the thirst I had the rest of the day, I loved this ramen joint.

My best friend brought me here because she knows I’m a HUGE fan of ramen and yet have not experienced a delicious ramen dish in Vancouver. Apparently there is usually a lineup outside of this place but we got in right before the line up had formed. Wow the broth was amazing the noodles were delicious and the chicken was on point. The one thing you have to be careful for is to not get your phone stolen which is very common at this place and there are signs all over the tables stating so. So be careful of that but other than that you must try this place out if you have not already

This is one of my favourite ramen places in downtown, aside from Santouka. While the waiting line can be long, the service is fast and efficient and the food is consistent. My favourite dish is the Tonkotsu Black ramen. The broth is rich and creamy while the black garlic oil adds a nice garlicky taste to it. Compared to other ramen places, I really like how they give you the option to choose between the thin or thick noodle. I love my noodles to be soft and chewy, hence, my preference for the thick noodles. Their soft-boiled egg is always spot on and their chashu is good. This is definitely my go-to place for a ramen place.

The place is small seats about 7 tables of 4 and two community high tops with about 16 seats. Great happy vibe when you walk in. I was lucky and got a seat right away because it was just for one. Apparently there is always a bit of a line — but it moves fast. Great menu and lots of specials ! Nice big bowls of ramen. I ordered SHOYUI with egg and seaweed and hot sauce on the side. I sat at the high tops and it was pretty cool vantage point of the kitchen and all the customers. Staff move quickly and the atmosphere is pretty light and happy. Ordered Goyza and three to an order was perfect. They smelled so dam good that I had to eat one before I took the photo. Buttery smooth and likely the best Goyza I’ve ever had — seriously ! Ordered hot sauce on the side for the Ramen was a good idea. Two reasons: one didn’t know how hot their«hot» was and I was wearing a white shirt and didn’t want lots of red dots !! Their hot sauce was fantastic ! Oh and ya am coming back here — many times !

I was happy to find a good ramen place closer to home on the quieter side of Robson St. The ramen ranges from $ 10.50-$ 14, a bit pricier than other places. On a Thursday night, the place was busy so we put our name down on the waitlist(you literally write down your own name, no host here). Turnover was quick so we were seated within 10min. The restaurant was modern and clean looking. Jinya is a franchise known for their tonkotsu, so I got their Tonkotsu black. If you like garlic, you’ll like the broth. It was rich and full of flavor, but it was maybe a bit too rich in an artery clogging kind of way. The best part was the good size pieces(2) of fatty pork. The thin ramen noodles itself was just ok. We ordered a side dish, crispy chicken(karagge), that came with a drink. It was meah, dry and not memorable. Overall, short wait time, ok quick service, decent ramen. The price and the concern for my health will probably keep me from coming back too often though.

I’ve been here a few times so far and I plan to come again. I like their tonkatsu black broth. It’s very rich in flavor and it has a bit of everything :9 Their Spicy Tonkotsu ramen is also pretty good. I’m pretty happy with the«hot» option, but a friend of mine said they’re going to go for the«spicy» option the next time they visit. However, if you like spicy food, but you’re not crazy about overly spicy food, the option is a good pick. Their mirin eggs are sometimes overcooked a little and I wish the eggs had a stronger flavor, but overall not bad at all. Decent portion. Decent price. Great service. Oh… And their summer special … «Red Curry» cold ramen… Don’t order it unless you feel like having something Thai-like. It’s not bad per say, it’s just not what I expected. It was a bit weird for my liking. On average, including tax and tips… A ramen comes to around $ 14 – 15 per bowl. And similar to Jinya in Kerrisdale, they need to work on their Gyoza.
