Fabulous sushi, super fresh! Recommend reservations. Restaurant was full, with customers waiting outside in 20 f cold.

On a cold late Wednesday night my friend FF was nice enough to pick me up so we could hang out. I guess we were both bored tonight… Nothing to do so she came by after work and we ended up going to Miko Sushi. Her store is around the area and I think she comes to this restaurant quite a bit cuz the waitresses seem to go out of their way to treat her well… Maybe it’s the«rich girl» thing she’s got going on! Haha! She looks rich so she gets better treatment! Hahah! Anyways, she’s kind of the expert here so I let her take charge and order. We had some chicken liver, and the sushi platter. She also ordered so uni sushi… Not really my favourite but I told her I would try it again. It tasted as bad as ever! I know it’s an acquired taste but I have not acquired the taste for uni sushi! Overall, Miko Sushi is pretty good. The sushi/sashimi is pretty fresh; as fresh as I’ve tasted out of the Vancouver market. Come on the sushi chef and all the waitresses are Japanese! It’s got to be a good sushi joint!!!

I really like this restaurant. The food is always very good and the ambiance is very ethnic with waiters wearing traditional Japanese clothing. It can be a bit crowded which is the only reason I’m not giving them a 5.

Not the nicest people and not interested in doing take away. Went in to order take away and they informed me it would take 30 minutes. Since live up the street I decided to continue with the order, but then they said it would be 50 minutes. Hmmmm, I guess business must be too good for them.

Delicious! So fresh. I had the chef’s choice and it was so tasty. I had the soft shell crab appetizer. Yummy. The fish ball was also delicious. Partner had the chicken teriyaki don. He found it to be excellent. Highly recommend this place.

Delicious sushi at a great price. Arrived in Vancouver late, was starving, and this hit the spot nicely!

If I could give 0 stars I would. My boyfriend and I ordered take out here because the reviews were all positive. Im thinking now that they must have been fake. The gomae was gross. The clams in the asari miso soup were fishy and not fresh the same goes with the tuna sashimi. Not even remotely fresh. We ordered 3 pcs of prawn tempura it was soggy and the portion size was tiny. All the portions were tiny actually, what we got for 60 dollars we could have gotten for 30 anywhere else and those places would have actually been fresh. I couldn’t even eat it and that is a hard feat. Opening the boxes was a huge slap in the face as a customer, we were very disappointed.

Literally just arrived in Vancouver, it was already getting late. So we went to the first place we saw to grab a bite to eat. The staff here was very nice and seated us quickly. The waitresses were dressed in cute kimono’s. The décor was of course Japanese style. Atmosphere was very comfortable and homey. The Grub. [[ MIKOCOMBO #1 $ 18.50 ]] This combination comes with tuna, salmon, ebi, tobiko, negitoro cone and California cone. [[ APPETIZERTEMPURA $ 6.50 ]] The appetizer tempura comes with 2 prawns and 3 different of vegetables. [[ MISOSOUP $ 1.75 ]]

One of the best places to find very traditional Japanese food in Vancouver. Always packed so make a reservation even on a weekday. Fresh sashimi. Autographs from celebrities and all the Canucks. Try the sockeye salmon sashimi, unagi or uni.

One star for the smile they gave us when greeted at the door and told they couldn’t serve us because they ran out of rice. #dumbfounded

Miko is always a treat when I want a home-style meal. They have great service, and have always been very friendly on every visit. I recommend their Nabeyaki udon — great for a typical vancouver rainy evening. The sushi isn’t overwhelmed with rice like most places, and they have a nice assortment of raw items/nigiri. They also make a proper Futomaki, which isn’t easy to find in the city for some reason — and have rare items you usually don’t find at restaurants(ex,. Kazunoko kombu). End with hot chazuke too, which they will wait until the end of your meal to serve. Occasion for this type of place? Miko provides a solid meal that’s not overly fancy. If you’re looking for a fancy sushi dinner date, then this place isn’t for you.(try Minami) I go to Miko when I feel like having a nostalgic meal like obaachan would make. :)

Hands down the best sushi I’ve ever had. Ever. This little restaurant is very deceiving. It’s brightly lit — almost cafeteria lighting — with their specials written on paper and posted on the wall. The owner works behind the counter with his wife seating people. We started with the spinach appetizer and my mind was blown. Who in the world would EVER think spinach could be this good?! We ordered a variety of sashimi, rolls and a bottle of warm sake. To say the fish was fresh is the understatement of the year. Every single piece tasted like it was just pulled from the water. This place gets 5 stars for service, 5 stars for quality and 5 stars for value. I will definitely be back before I leave this city!

The food was good. Very happy to find Yaki Onigiri in the menu, but the attitude of the service was not very pleasant. The owner is very particular of how everything should be done, not very comfortable. BTW, they charge $ 0.95 for an extra tempura sauce that we want to use on our tempura udon. That definitely didn’t help to the experience.

This place is amazing, the staff are so friendly. Sat at the bar an ordered the chef special which was a little pricey at 32. The fish was so fresh, each bite so enjoyable. When I didn’t eat the raw fish heads the waitress offered to deep fry it providing a interesting delight.

Sushi rice was so watery and bad. And expensive. Service is really slow and not so friendly. One lady in kimono yells at other servers in Japanese(as a second language) using very bad words. hijo ni kowai desu. You dont want to hear that when you are eating… right? I won’t go there anymore.

This place is severely underwhelming. Its not bad sushi but its just boring. Nothing exciting, I wouldn’t label it as fresh, and for the price it seems like a ripoff. I’ve had tastier store bought sushi. Its so blah i’ve run out of things to say except for try somewhere different.

average overpriced sushi, with lots of pictures of hockey players used as bragging rights? Just because a hockey player eats at a certain restaurant does not mean that the food is good, how can we even assume that they have good palates? I make an effort to not ever go to this restaurant because the service is just brutal. There is one little old gremlin in there decked out in full kimono gear who acts like she has a stick shoved up her ass 24 hrs a day 365 days a year. She’s so nasty and rude and basically hates her life, working as a waitress enslaved to this sushi restaurant. Don’t expect to get any service or a single smile from this old grouch. Plates will be slapped down on your table. Don’t expect your tea to be refilled, and when you manage to flag her down to get you something loud sighs will be heard. The only exception to this is if you are 45+, in a suit and tie, are with a group of males looking like you are about to shell out lots of money on liquor then she’ll be all smiles.

This is the only sushi place in Vancouver where I’ve left hungrier than when I went in. I know this place is popular with NHL stars but why should I feel like I have to BEG the staff to take my money and serve me? I was on my lunch break and decided to check this place out based on the glowing reviews. I was seated in the chef/bar area, since I was dining alone. I got no service at all from the waitresses, I couldn’t get the attention of the chefs either and they didn’t make any eye contact what-so-ever. The business man in a suit sitting in the same area near me was well taken care of. Perhaps I couldn’t capture the staff’s attention simply because I look younger than I am? I’ve tried hellos, excuse mes, and waving. The staff just adverted eye contact with me every time, I was almost short of snapping my fingers, but that would be rude. The place wasn’t even packed! I was utterly dumbfounded by the attitude of the staff here. I left shaking my head at this place. Unbelievable, the worst I’ve ever encountered all my life in Vancouver.

In my quest to find quality sushi downtown Unilocal pointed me to Miko. Conveniently located on Robson, with a fair amount of seating. I was hoping for some awesome veg sushi, but their menu had zero veg options. They get docked a star for that. I was offered a lunch menu and didn’t ask if there was anything else to order off of, maybe the dinner menu has the veg options? I ordered a sushi lunch box for $ 13.50, usually way more than I spend eating out for lunch. But it was 100% worth it. The miso soup was probably one of the best I’ve had. So flavourful and salty. Yum! The rest of the box came with 4 pieces of tempura(2 veg and 2 prawn) green salad, 2 chicken yakitori, and then some maki salmon, tuna a california roll and some tuna, salmon sashimi. I was blown away by the amount of food. And I was full for the rest of the day. When I want to treat myself for lunch I will be coming back to Miko! #30daysofyelp 5⁄30
