Average Sushi, I ordered the Dynamite roll and chicken rolls. Both lacked flavour, the chicken felt like it was re-heated. I got two hidden Prawn tails in my dynamite roll which was not a nice surprise. I wouldn’t go back have found better sushi places in Downtown, Vancouver.

Flew into Vancover a few years ago and visited this place to surprise a friend for her 30th birthday and boy was she surprised! But that’s not what this is about so moving on. I have never seen so many sushi places in one area and definitely did not expect to see them in Vancouver! So why did she choose to take me to this location? She knows I like to eat on a budget, have good portions because I eat a lot(and I mean A LOT) and of course it better taste yummy too. Here’s a little breakdown: Food/Price: She was not joking when she said good portions!(see photos). For what we paid for, I was full to the top! A lot of things in Vancouver are so expensive, then to see my order to be under $ 10?! I was definitely a happy girl with a happy belly! We order a varieties of things from sushi of course, to rolls, to udon, you name it. Again for the price you pay and the portion they give you, I won’t complain at all. I have to say, its not the best I had but its to par. Sushi were pretty fresh and that is always important because do remember you are eating them raw. Being thousands of miles away from home and a mini getaway, I want to remember my trip and not one where I’m hugging the toilet. Ambiance: This is where I do have to knock off a star. Its very small and seats were crowded together. Not the most comfortable if you ask me. This place reminds me of the quick bites street corners in Japan where you generally order, eat, pay and get out in like 15 minutes. Definitely not your ideal place to hang out long or chat. Just eat and go. Service/Cleanliness: Pretty quick and straight forward. Not the best but not the worse. Pretty clean but again reminds me of a tiny mom and pop or cafeteria setting.

Girlfriend puked out her tuna nigiri and cali roll. Heads up about this place. I got take out late Saturday night, even the server was saying how they were out of some rolls which made me question the quality to begin with seeing as I was ordering right before they were going to close.

I’ve eaten here numerous times and it’s always the same problems. The portion sizes are great if you like cheaper sushi. Now here is a list of what they constantly do wrong: — sushi rolls are poorly constructed, they always fall apart — rice preparation is subpar — sashimi is hacked rather than sliced — salmon is Atlantic Ocean caught — seating is limited, basically take out only — all ‘side dishes’ are bland Overall, the level of care involved in creating the food is reflected in the presentation and taste.

I wanted a ridiculous amount of fresh sushi for as little as possible and Momo did the job. So far, this little place has had the best bang for your buck, as far as cheap sushi is concerned, in all of Vancouver. Where I live, sushi is pretty expensive so I definitely felt like a fat kid in a donut shop at this place! I’m coming back for sure!

I really don’t get it why people rave about this place. If it’s because it’s cheap I would rather make some food at home or buy a slice of pizza. The sushis were either tasteless or very fishy, some very dry, some very hard to chew on, and had the size of non-appetizing steaks. I couldn’t even eat half of my dish. The miso soup was very thick, weird texture. Such a bad decision to go there tonight I feel it was a waste of money. Ugh :-(

Used to be my favorite quick bite place for good value california rolls… however, After today, I’m not sure if I would be back again. They stopped using all the proper plate and bowls, Replacing with plastic and foam plates on a food court tray. The udon used to be very light and delicious. Now it’s stiff and salty … I feel like I’m drowning in soy sauce. The rolls… Are like they are being smashed on the foam plates. Bill is still cheap, but I rather eat somewhere else for a bit more money. Also, the new waitress is very slow and unresponsive. It’s actually quite depressing that this quick bite place is off my list now.

Move to Minnesota please! We loved the freshness, quantity and customer service at this place very much. We got the extra spicy roll, the red dragon roll, and the mango roll for only 17 dollars!!! The red dragon is a must try if you can handle raw fish, the extra spicy was super flavorful that i didn’t have to dip soy sauce with it. Lastly, the mango roll was only okay in my opinion because the mango Used was seasoned or tasted a little different from the typical mango I have. Our waitress was very friendly and was very considerate, even letting us try something special on the side for free! We would love a place like this on MN, will sure come back.

Sushi bon marché. Je retournerais sans hésiter pour les sashimis. C’est une bonne place pour diner, pas assez chic pour le souper. Le service est express.

It is impossible to not give Momo 4 stars. There is so much food for so little money at a freshness that surprises. Toro sushi costs $ 1.25. Really? $ 13.50 for 15 pieces of big, thick sashimi. Really? Come with seaweed salad, too. Is there better sashimi? Probably. Yet the freshness-to-price ratio is so high that I don’t care. Momo’s maki roll is big, but the pieces are sliced too thin. The roll falls apart when I pick it up. So this, together with the crap interior seating cost Momo one star. Will return. Will recommend others to eat here. Or maybe takeout from here.

Best value I have ever seen. We were just visiting Vancouver for a few days and still went to MOMO Sushi twice. Portions are huge, service is really good(it’s a tiny place) and the prices were ridiculously cheap. If I was living nearby, that would be my weekly(at least) sushi fix.

Amazing budget sushi. Small store, only 11 seats. $ 20 for 10pc of salmon sashimi, two rolls, and two pairs of nigiri. Only reason why I haven’t given them 5 star is because: — the soup offered is not miso, but a dashi like broth, and it’s got a kick!(Kinda spicy, even for someone who likes spicy food.) — sat at the bar and saw the filthy top fridge. At least they wrapped their fish before putting them back! That thing needs a good cleaning though.

This place was down the street from the hotel I was staying at while visiting BC and after seeing 4 stars figured I’d give it a try. The prices are super affordable! You get so much for your money and definitely a full belly. While sitting at the sushi bar you can see all of the fish and other ingredients out in front of you all refrigerated mind you but still all in the same little counter fridge… didn’t seem the most sanitary but who am I to say. The waitress spilled miso soup all over my lap but was friendly other than that. My friend had nigiri and later was hugging the toilet for a good 2 hours(be warned, I’d only get cooked food here, he would agree) Going elsewhere next time, disappointed…

Can’t beat the bang for the buck here. Back in the USA, this would cost 3 times as much. Pleasantly surprised by the prices, the quality, the value, and that we enjoyed the cozy(read: sardine-tight) eating space that Momo offers. We’ll be back soon. UPDATE4÷11÷15: My wife and I still miss this place(we live in California, USA) and it’s the standard by which all other American sushi houses are judged, if you ask either of us. So good! We miss you guys.

By far the worst sushi I have ever had. The sign in the window states that it closes at ten, while«OPEN» flashes in fluorescents. Yet the server’s watch must be broken because for a full hour before closing, she was dishing out her terrible attitude and treating customers like they were an inconvenience. The sloppy rolls fell apart as soon as we touched them. Do yourself a favour and walk 2 blocks to Sushi-aholic on Denman.

Great food and fast service. I got $ 8.99 House Roll combo which came with House Rolls, 3pc Sashimi with Miso soup and salad. I thought it was too small since there are only rolls and sashimi. I didn’t know soup and salad was included.

* Budget sushi rolls * This little Korean run sushi roll bar offers decent value when needing to fill up without much finesse. The dynamite combo($ 6.20) is an unimaginable amount of food that is rather one noted. It comes with two gigantic stomach busting rolls and a bowl of mundane miso soup. The rolls are overflowing with fake crab meat with a hint of avocado in all and some crunchy fried bits in the dynamite portion to «vary» the taste a bit. The soup is weak and not very satisfying. Photo: This is not a place to go for nigiri, and I likely would shy away from any of the raw fish items as they did not look particularly fresh from what I saw at other tables.

Used to frequent this place once or twice a month, last night was our first visit in a year or two. This location is quite cramped. Most of the seating is at the bar with minimal space behind for someone to get past to the washroom. Even the two small tables they have have very little room. Service left a lot to be desired. The one server who was there was mostly disinterested. Took our order, brought the food when ready and that’s about it. Menu has changed a little. We ordered a special roll and a box and it came to $ 15 for the two of us. Sushi was nothing special, but perhaps I shouldn’t complain for the price. Did not digest well. 1.5÷5 — will not return.

This was lunch today. This place is a bit dingy but the food is top notch. I have the California Rolls with the Tempura chicken. All in all… a solid meal. It’s a recommend from me!

Was here on Labour Day weekend and walked into this place at around 3 in the afternoon to grab some late lunch. Thought this place would be good if they have like at least 2 other locations along Robson. Was a bit disappointed because we walked in and the place was a mess. There were only 1 sever at the time but at least 2 – 3 people standing behind the counter talking with each other. They have a TV inside and a customer ask to have it switch to a channel. It took the sever and a couple of others to work that TV. Took them like 30 mins just to change the channel. By then the customer had already finished their food and was about to leave. As for my experience, both myself and my bf ordered a bento box. Kinda crapy in a way that the miso soup was watery, sushi was kinda small, the teriyaki chicken was dried even with sauce and it was kinda not worth it’s price.

2 combos for only $ 15! Is that even possible? And the sushi taste really good. I am from Toronto and travelling to Vancouver just for sushi believe or not lol Momo sushi gives you the best value for fresh and delicious rolls. I had an awesome roll and an Alaska roll(as shown in pic) for lunch, tasty and filling. Definitely coming for a second time :D PS: right next to Starbucks #wifi
