Love the quinoa falafel wrap– definitely a «you won’t miss the meat» kind of meal. The borscht was a hit as well– i got a half order, which was actually huge and loaded full of veggies. Both were super satisfying and flavourful, together it came out to $ 13, which is decent for lunch. Very friendly service as well. As others mentioned, it wasn’t crazy busy(busy but not hectic), which is a little surprising considering the great quality of the food. If you work in the area it is definitely worth a visit for lunch. Edit: the hours listed on Unilocal are wrong… I went to Ripple Rock to grab something(no lunch) around 3:50pm and they were already closed. hmm.

Fantastic place. Food and service are excellent. The lines can be long at lunch. Call ahead to eliminate the wait. I love the Asian Tuna Wrap and the Jerk Chicken. Frankly every meal I’ve had is excellent. I also recommend the side of house chips.

Damyn son, some of the best sandwiches in the area. We have this place cater the office often. The porchetta, meatball and chicken sandwiches are off teh chain! Pure delicious. These are not light meals and you will get sleepy after eating them. For the price they can’t be beat! Under $ 10 is normal. They have some great ginger beer there also. Be sure to try the house made potato /taro chips. Very tasty. Support this great small business. Vegetarians are welcome here also.

The food is great however the wait for the food to arrive is ridiculous. My first visit I waited nearly 20 minutes for a sandwich. Hoping this was an anomaly I returned to the restaurant for a second visit and waited over 30 minutes. My work colleague was late for his meeting. I am not sure if I will return as receiving food in a timely manner is important, especially during a workday.

Three things awesome about this restaurant: –Friendly owner –Seating –Beer Otherwise, an average lunch place in Downtown. Sandwiches aren’t quite as good as meat-and-bread, but you can actually sit down to eat, which is much better for small groups. I’ve been meaning to try the breakfast too, as they have a full brekkie menu.

My husband and I went to Ripple Rock for lunch and were pretty disappointed. The restaurant is small, clean, and fairly empty for a weekday lunch in downtown Vancouver. I ordered a cold roast beef sandwich and the meat was so tough I couldn’t chew it. My husband got the meatball sandwich and said the meatballs tasted like they’d been previously frozen. He was not impressed. Those were the only items we tried. They didn’t have ice for our drinks. Very minimalist. We won’t be back.

Good to very good. I go here abiut once a month as I work in the adjacent building. The food is good but the portions are small and it gets pretty expensive for a filling lunch. As one friend puts it, it’s Meat and Bread without the lineups, and is pretty accurate.

Attention vegans! Another place for us to eat lunch downtown! I am so happy Ripple Rock has vegan options on their menu. I was a fan of their restaurant when I was an omnivore and it rocks that I can still pop in on days I don’t want to prepare a lunch. They also have some gluten free options. They have 3 vegetarian/vegan options, a red lentil burger, quinoa falafel wrap and a veggie sandwich. I’m pretty sure they always offer two soups, one of which is for us veggies. I am currently enjoying the falafel wrap and a side roasted veg soup. The portion size is fantastic! My wrap most likely will be lunch and dinner. For you omnivores get the mac and cheese balls with the onion rings. So amazing. I miss that treat. And they have a rotating hot lunch special. I asked about the cookies, sadly they are not vegan… but maybe some will show up soon?

Great food, great service. I think this place makes some of the best sandwiches downtown. I think the sandwiches are better then meat and bread. To top it all off you get a place to sit. Totally can see myself going once a week!

Tucked in the secret alleyway behind the BMO building is this unassuming little café that offers comfort food choices with a gourmet twist. There was a consistent stream of customers at lunch, but not madly hectic. There are oodles of natural lighting coming through greenhouse-esque windows. I imagine it would be quite nice for a casual sit-down lunch on a sunny day. Their lunch menu consists of mainly sandwiches. I decided on the Porchetta and the featured Bean & Bacon Soup, which came to a grand total of $ 11 and change. Remember to tip when dining in because servers do bring the food to your table and will refill your water. The Porchetta was solid 3-star quality. There is room for improvement on the tenderness of the pork, crispiness of the skin, and the overall greasiness. But it was still a very tasty sandwich. The soup was disappointing. I should’ve skipped on it because the sandwich was more than enough to fill my tummy. Please continue to feature interesting hot lunch options and I’ll definitely be back exploring the secret lunch alleyway.
