I had the“Man’s Man Burger” it’s not really a man’s burger at all, why cause it has bacon? It was small and only 1 piece of bacon, the bun was good. It could be bigger for a man, not a child. I have had better burgers at places like Hub, Joey, The Buck and Ear, Buffalo Wild Wings etc. All in all it was good just not a Man’s Burger!!!

Great chorizo mix burger and throw an egg on it. Yam fries were awesome. Good beer choices!

This review specifically pertains to take-out/delivery. On not one, but THREE occasions(within the past week) we have ordered delivery from this location of Romer’s via and all three times, they have messed up our order in the exact same fashion. First time(a week ago): requested no sauces on either of the burgers. Both burgers came with sauce on them. Called Romer’s and they said we had to take it up with JustEat. You cannot call JustEat; rather, you have to go online and«live chat» with a customer service rep. Waited another half hour or so, and received delivery of the corrected order. Unfortunately it still cost us extra, because we felt obligated to tip the delivery driver for the second delivery, because it obviously wasn’t his fault that the order was wrong. Second time(today): requested no sauce on either of our burgers, plus lots of extra ketchup on the side for our fries. Both burgers came with sauce on them, and there was no ketchup for our fries. Once again, got on «live chat» with JustEat, and had a new order delivered. Once again, tipped the delivery driver a second time. Third time(today): The replacement burger arrived and STILL had the sauce. They did send three small packets of ketchup for us to use on our already eaten fries. JustEat’s customer service closes at 10:00 or 10:30, so now we are stuck with no dinner, no refund and no recourse. We will not be ordering from here again. P. S. Six days later, still have not received a refund.

This is by far the best place to have a burger. The beef is locally grown and made to perfection. Patio season is here. I hope to have more time to visit my favorite burger bar!

The hostess and the manager(I think the was the manager) were so wonderful, great service provided by them! The Bellini was the best I’ve ever had, however our server was so rude and slow and the burgers were just ok. I would go back for the cheap drinks but not for the food or our waitress’s attitude.

We came here on a Wednesday night after hitting up Scotiabank Theatres. This place was pretty dead except for two tables. The people working there, though, looked like they were working their butts off. Wonder what it would be like if it was jam packed. With that being said, we mindlessly waited to be seated. Our server took longer than expected to assist us and it didn’t start off very well. She had some attitude which drifted away later on in the night. Oddly, we came to a burger joint and not order burgers. We wanted to try the Maui Ribs and the Jerk Chicken, flavours which we don’t see in the same restaurant. Bad choice! The Maui Ribs were something I can make at home. No exciting flavours to tingle my tastebuds. This dish overall was barely a pass. The jerk chicken was not up to par and the salad that came with it was leathery. Too much sauce on the rice. Roti was hard and had a awfully weird taste. The only enjoyable part of this dinner was perhaps how cheap the alcoholic drinks are. 4 bucks for a cocktail! You’d be expecting to pay at least $ 12-$ 15 in downtown off happy hours. So I’d say go here for your drinks! And when I do next time, I will order a burger. 2 stars for now.

I was really excited to try this place. I figured that any restaurant downtown with«Burger» in the name must make a damn good burger. My friend ordered the Magic Mushroom Burger and I had the Spicy Jamaican Jerk burger. We split a side of yam fries. My burger was a bit disappointing. I’m not sure how a burger with mango salsa and curry can lack flavor, but it did. My friend didn’t say much about his burger. The yam fries came with an aioli dip and spicy banana ketchup. I couldn’t really taste the banana in the ketchup. I do have to say that they have a great drink menu. They offer daily specials and some drinks that are $ 4 everyday. The Sunset Sour was great. The servers were very friendly at Romer’s. I really wanted to love this place but it was just ok. The drink menu helped to redeem it a bit. I might try it again and have something different from the menu.

Well, I usually don’t leave 1 star reviews, but I was particularly peeved at this visit. We walked in and were told that they«weren’t seating» despite being a 75% full, normal-looking restaurant at 1:45PM on a Saturday. I told her I didn’t understand what she meant and she just repeated that they weren’t seating because the kitchen was swamped. What? The restaurant wasn’t even full, with available tables… couldn’t they seat us and tell us it might take slightly longer because of this? She said we’d have to stand in the entrance for half an hour before we could sit. She didn’t even offer an apology and seemed highly disinterested in our service, so we left. Lame.

I love Romer’s and have been ordering both takeout and delivery from them for months now. Probably one of the best burger places in the city. Their Wicked Deadly Cheeseburger is my all time favourite. I typically order it with extra cheddar cheese even though it already comes with 5 different cheeses. Lets be honest, you can never have too much cheese. The brioche bun it comes with is so fluffy and buttery and their beef patties are 100% certified organic beef which is a big plus. One thing I will note is that twice now the greens on my burger have been on the verge of going bad and didn’t smell or taste very good. While this has only happened twice, I believe it could’ve easily been prevented. I typically order yam fries as a side. They’re so delicious and the dipping sauces they come with are GENIUS. So good. I’ve tried their Wild Pacific Fish Tacos as well and while they were good, I probably wouldn’t order them again just because they weren’t anything special. Their Jamaican Jerk Chicken burger sounded amazing but unfortunately tasted a bit disappointing. I stick to the burgers here because that’s what they’re best at. For dessert, the Drunken Donuts are a must try(seriously, you need to try them.) I’d say that everyone needs to try out Romer’s at least once. I order from them an embarrassingly large number of times per month. A burger(or two) a week has become a regular thing for me and Romer’s is where I order from 99% of the time.

First let me say that I work in the service industry and am very forgiving for all kinds of errors. Next, my burger was pink. Completely pink once I got three bites in. Which is fine, could just be a one time thing, but it took us FOREVER to get any waitresses’ attention and the place was completely dead. They were standing around and chatting. When someone came over, I told her the burger was pink and she told me that pink meat was totally fine and I should try to eat it anyways. I’ve worked in a lot of restaurants and I’ve never tried to convince anyone to eat undercooked meat. We were pretty stunned at the suggestion, and I insisted I didn’t really want to eat it anymore and she awkwardly took it away and said she’d ask her manager what to do. She never updated us, and came back much later to ask if we wanted another drink, which we did not. We asked what was going to happen and she said«oh, your burger will be half off.» We said fine and paid and all, but I’m very unimpressed with both the food and the service. I usually love romers but I don’t think I’ll be back. The prices are completely unjustified and I could get a better experience from McDonald’s.

fresh, home made sauces, craft beers, hand pressed patties, virtually every recipe made in house(pulled pork, jerk chicken, etc) — buttery brioche buns! Delicious! Prices are pretty decent, too.

Solid 4 stars. Meeting a colleague from out of town for dinner, and Romer’s popped up on Unilocal.Casual, good variety of food, and a nice drink menu too — we’re in. The atmosphere was just right, not too loud, and a cool vibe. I had the Tuesday drink special($ 5!), which while I don’t remember what it was called, was 100% delicious. It was a sparkly, fruity, glass of deliciousness. We had the lettuce wraps to start(spicy! But good!), and I had the Thai Curry — a good portion size, and just the right amount of kick. My colleague’s burger had good reviews, but note that fries come separate. We got the big size, and it’s just right for sharing with co-workers who want fries but are pretending to eat healthy :) Our server was friendly and helpful, and we had a tablet survey with our bill — free donuts next time! And a next time there will be(not juuuust because of the donuts :)

A place that doesn’t provide a side with their burgers by default would usually be written off by me, but perhaps it was because I was so hungry coming into this place, that I was completely satisfied. Their magic mushroom burger was delicious, but could use more mushrooms. Their truffle + reggiano fries were so good, that I’m drooling thinking about them right now. Sangria was refreshing and tasted like juice, which is a bad thing if you’re a lightweight and like juice(like me). Service-wise, they delivered. It was a busy Saturday night and we were a large group that didn’t make any reservations, but once the tables cleared up, which didn’t take long, they sat us right away.

Im sorry Unilocal™. I have your app on my phone and you offer reviews to let me know of places I’d be better off avoiding. Damn you Whitecaps™ and maybe even Canucks™. Tonight was so busy in Yaletown™ I ignored the Unilocal™ app and went to Romers. Oh Romers, please keep my $ but let me go in a time machine so I would have walked by & not eaten your food… Unilocal™ you win– it’s 3 stars on a good night. This was not one of those good nights… amen g

Came to this burger bar last night for the first time on the way to a concert. This place had caught our eye due to the uniquely advertised burgers and cheap prices. It was situated in a pretty expensive area so to have burgers priced at about $ 11-$ 13 seemed like a pretty great deal. Not to mention they had cheap $ 4 social drinks on special everyday. We sat on the patio and quickly took advantage of the cheap drinks. They were definitely good for $ 4! For our meals, we ordered the Keen-Wa burger and the Man’s Man burger, along with a sharable side of fries. Bonus points to the restaurant for offering creative dips that you could order for just a couple cents extra(we tried the Banana Ketchup and Bacon Mayo). The Keen-Wa burger was okay. The advertised«skinny bun» seemed like a bun purchased at Save-On, not something house made. The quinoa-made patty was alright compared to other restaurants. The Man’s Man burger was enjoyable, as far as your classic bacon cheeseburger goes. Lastly, we found the shareable fries to be tasty along with the dips. Overall, If you are looking for something on the cheap side, this place is definitely worth consideration. Drinks, burgers, fries, and dips did not break the bank here. I would just avoid the«skinny bun» and opt for the regular brioche bun! The Staff were pretty friendly too.

Ordered take out and what I got was disappointing. The Man’s Man Burger should be renamed to the Grainy Mustard Burger because that’s all you can taste. The patty was over cooked and dry. Tasted awful. Also, the the amount of fries you get for for $ 3.25 is a ripoff. Will not order from this establishment again. Edit: I created an account just to say how terrible the food was at this place.

We were drawn in by the $ 5 sangria sign. I hadn’t even checked this place out on Unilocal before deciding to come here. It is a nice restaurant, but then again, not having to fight through a crowd is always a beautiful sight to me. One thing that stuck out to me was the foresight of the waitress to bring out the condiments before I had an opportunity to ask. The waiter had some good suggestions, and I like that getting information and personal opinions from the staff isn’t like pulling teeth. The food came in perfect portions, quality, and was presentable. Proof, once again, that going against the grain(negative reviews) sometimes works in your favor.

Not sure if there’s been some changes to staff/management here lately but I’ve noticed the food has decreased in quality and quantity; and service has become sloppy. Last night was my most recent order from here and will be my last. We were feeling lazy and had a meal delivered, ordered a selection of food and it arrived within the hour. When we opened it, the food was barely lukewarm. One of the burgers were ordered arrived as described so no complaints there. Fries were cold and had tiny portions. My burger was laughable. I paid $ 4.50 for an extra patty, requested no mayo and was shocked at the halfassed version of a burger that they sent. $ 15.95 for 2 plain patties on a dry bun(one had a scrape on mayo on one side) and less than a teaspoon of onion/stilton topping? No lettuce, no tomato, regular additions that are standard on a burger unless requested otherwise. When i called the server i spoke with wasn’t the least bit helpful, thanked me for«the feedback» but didn’t offer to replace or refund the item. She said if i had an complaint about the food/wanted a partial refund, to take it up with Just eat(i did.) Romers, it’s not me. It’s you. You may have made a profit off my order last night but you’ve lost my business.

Ended up here while bar hopping last night. Was walking by and they had seats available in the patio. Was greeted and seated promptly by the staff(y) The server was phenomenal and provided excellent service and seemed to know his beers. Ordered a flight of beers, some on the recommendation of the server. Patio décor and looks are definitely very nice, clean, and well maintained. Good relaxed atmosphere. Didn’t have any food, so the rating is based on the service, restaurant itself, and drinks. Easy 4 stars.

pretty solid burgers + fries I always get the man’s man burger and it never disappoints. They have a pretty good selection of craft beers which is always a plus. Off the top of my head, they had the following on tap: –parallel 49 — jerkface, seedspiter –hoyne — dark matter –steamworks –red truck Service is always good.
