we sometimes come here for brunch it’s pretty good. The seating outside is a nice atmosphere I’ve never sat inside. The breakfast pizza egg thing was really good. My BF loves the coffee cause they give you steamed milk. The staff were sometimes awkward but it was over all good!

Always enjoy the Minestrone soup! The meatballs have gotten a little smaller, but the owner always makes me feel special.

Good, homey, friendly, comfy, welcoming restaurant in the old school style. Big inside and some good spanakopita, lasagna, and milo pita. Nice meal.

Found this cute little greek restaurant online and stopped in for breakfast before we left the city. Great choice with delicious food and friendly staff! Greeted by the owner and promptly served by the waitress. Enjoyed fresh coffee with complimentary steamed milk(dairy or non-dairy). Nice presentation and tasty deep dish veggie scramble was my entrée; great fuel for the day! **I’ve noticed everywhere we ate the servers use portable(mobile) payment machines for purchases with cards. They come to the table and you complete the transaction on-screen. So convenient, wish the states would have more of these.**

Interesting place for breakfast downtown! The space is waaay bigger than it looks from the outside, and it is so unique. There are family pictures everywhere and it really feels like you’re eating in someone’s house(someone’s giant house, but still) – you can eat while sitting on an armchair below someone’s wedding pictures! Pretty cool – a little odd, but cool, especially when someone in one of those family photos then comes over to chat with you and refill your water. Their breakfast deep dishes are pretty bomb, and I would totally recommend adding the complimentary mushrooms and zucchini.

After a night of drunken debauchery with two of my besties at a downtown hotel, we popped in for what we hoped would be the greasiest of breakfasts. It wasn’t greasy, but it sure hit the spot! The service was cordial, attentive but not hovering, and old fashioned. The coffee was plentiful. And the cinnamon buns — oy. We shared one, which came covered in very fresh chopped fruit(none of this lame-ass day old canteloupe and honeydew you get at most breakfast joints) and drizzled with honey. Best part of the meal! We also enjoyed scrambled eggs with bacon, home fried potatoes(NOT hashbrowns, which kind of disappointed hungover-me), and rye toast. The toast was cold when it got to me, which again was kind of disappointing, but the eggs were cooked well, as was the bacon, and the portions were very generous. I would definitely come back here, but next time it’s just for an espresso, a cinnamon bun, and a whole heap o’ fresh fruit.

This place was absolutely amazing! As soon as we walked in, we were immediately greeted by the owner and waited around ~10 minutes before being seated. We ordered the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict and Lasagna(off the lunch/dinner menu). I also ordered a Spanish Coffee(w/Brandy & Kahlau) which I highly recommend. The food came out almost instantly, which later we found out they had accidentally given us someone else’s food. Instead of the Lasagna we were served a Deep dish plate. This turned out to be one of the best accidentally meals I’ve ever had! The deep dish plate was extremely tasty filled with an assortment of meats, veggies, and cheese while the Salmon Benedict had the most delicious hollandaise sauce. Even though we were ok being served something different than we ordered, our waiter sincerely apologized and offered to provided us with huge discount and complimentary dessert! One of the brunch experiences I’ve had with amazing food and service. Definitely will be back here next time I visit Vancouver!

Went yesterday morning for brunch — was looking forward to a nice place and the reviews for this place were great. Thought how could it be a bad choice, right? Unfortunately, I quickly felt sickened after ordering my food. My friend and I were continuously swarmed by house flies. When it’s 30 degrees out, flies are a clear cut sign of a dirty restaurant. The eggs Benedict I ordered came — the eggs tasted stale and hollandise tasted like straight mayo. It was beyond disgusting. When I let the waitress know if the issues I had at the food, she said nothing and did not offer a different meal or anything and proceeded to charge me full price with most of the entire meal sitting there. The health department really needs to shut this place down first and foremost before someone gets sick!

My friend took me to this restaurant for my birthday. The server strongly recommended chicken combo so we ordered it and also ordered a house pizza. I liked pizza as it was simple, but good. It was not greasy and the dough was crispy. For chicken combo, I enjoyed roasted potatoes and tzatziki sauce, but chicken itself was overly seasoned as it was little bit salty for me. The service was overall pleasant. I want to re-visit this place for a brunch. ;-)

The restaurant itself is decked out in family photos and had a very homey feel. Initially, I thought it was cute that the owner was parading in his restaurant with such pride and telling every table his story that he’s been doing this for almost 30 years. But first flag of oddness was when lady patrons would ask where the bathroom was, and he would take them by the hand to escort them to the bathroom. Uhh… ok. My guy friend and I ordered a deep dish with seafood. After running a half marathon, this was a godsend at first bite. After a while, it got tiring in taste. The thick zucchini slices weren’t fully cooked. The seafood was kind of fishy tasting. Oh well… doesn’t seem like a dish worth coming back for. After we finished eating, we got the bill. We paid, but I stuck around at the table since my friend went to the bathroom. While my friend was away, the owner comes up to me after talking to another table. He made comments about how I looked like a princess, introduced himself as the owner and how he’s been running this establishment for a while, and then asked, «Has anyone ever called you ‘hot lips’?» WTF. At this point I was caught off guard and didn’t know how to respond. Then he proceeded to ask if I enjoyed the food. I said a simple yes for him to leave, and he walked away. Once my friend came back, I bolted out of there. Scrubbing off that gross feeling asap. Never coming back.

This place was disappointing overall. After reading all the rave reviews about the breakfast pizza, I came and it was just okay. Edible for sure, but the«crust» turns all soggy from being at the bottom of a casserole dish, and it’s just a cheesy casserole at the end of the day. Flavors were okay, nothing amazing. Service was bare bones. Guy was old school and didn’t seem super happy or thrilled about his job, but he got the job done — no nonsense. They brought out the wrong kind of breakfast pizza first, but he was good about promptly getting it resolved and bringing out the correct order. Ambiance is really casual and reminds you of an old school Italian joint in NYC or something. But their prices are actually a bit steep for somewhere that seems so casual. Similar to NYC prices. I feel like you can get more bang for your buck at other places in Vancouver.

The best smoked salmon eggs Benedict I’ve had. Well, actually it’s the best Benny I’ve had period, and I’ve tried many from all over the place. Definitely a MUST try! Service is great also.

We wanted a light breakfast before heading to the suspension bridge and found Scoozis because it was on the way to the shuttle. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left it felt like family. When we arrived, the owner was outside enjoying the day but he warmly greeted and sat us. Our server gave us menus and enough time to look them over without feeling rushed. We both ordered coffee variations(aka coffee with booze) and they were great. I didn’t feel like I had been drinking and the coffee didn’t overpower the drink. It made me want to buy the stuff to make my own boozy coffee but I probably wouldn’t do it as well as them. For breakfast, I ordered the breakfast pizza and my bf ordered a salmon Benedict. The salmon was nice and salty and sat atop a buttery croissant. It was sooooo good. My breakfast pizza was topped by fresh veggies and melted cheese. I’ve never had a breakfast pizza before but I was sold on this one. Initially they brought me the wrong one but as soon as I sent it back they were very apologetic and quickly prepared the correct order. I appreciate that. Sometimes places make you feel like you messed up somehow. To boot, they brought out some free dessert for the mishap. I didn’t ask for it but they realized the error. I appreciated that as well. All in all my experience here was fabulous and I’d recommend Scoozis any day.

I came here because of the Unilocal reviews for brunch and I’m really glad I did. I got the salmon Benedict on croissant and it was soooo good! My BF got the deep dish and wasn’t as happy with his choice as I was mine. I feel the deep dish needs a bit more work on the crust it was a tad burnt and stuck to the edges. If it was a more traditional deep dish it would have worked better. Also the veggies were a little undercooked. My BF who doesn’t like smoked salmon had a few bites of my salmon eggs Benny and said it was delicious so there ya go. It wouldn’t have been too expensive if I didn’t add on 2 Caesar’s with brunch but they were really good! Also they gave us some kind of apple strudel complementary at the end of our meal and it was delicious!

My mother and I were visiting Vancouver for my birthday and we decided to stop by Scoozis for brunch before heading out to Lynn Valley. The initial reaction to Scoozis was just another ‘breakfast joint’ with your typical morning food. But man, was I wrong! The large restaurant has a variety of choices for meat lovers and vegetarian lovers alike. I was persuaded by the host /owner to get their eggs benedict… Apparently their hollandaise sauce is out of this world. This was also my first time ever having eggs benedict. This was my first time trying an eggs benedict dish, but the smoked salmon on top of a buttery croissant seemed to delicious to pass up. In the meantime, I got their fresh warm apple cider that was as fresh as it can get. For some reason, the apple cider in Canada tastes much different than the US. It’s more fresh, raw, organic — there’s not as much artificial sugar that is used. When my dish came out, it was perfectly plated … almost too pretty to even ruin. But my mother told me to pop the egg and let the yolk run down my salmon croissant… After that is history. While I had nothing to compare the eggs benedict to, it was out of this world. It was one of those meals where you either didn’t want it to end OR you already had the next date in mind of when you were to come back. Unfortunately, our trip was a bit short. Next time I am up in Vancouver(hopefully this summer), I will be sure to come back to Scoozis for brunch. On top of the delicious food, the service was so friendly. I felt very welcomed and comfortable. Double points for this place. I’ll note it down on my «Fav spots in Vancouver» for the many years to come when I visit that beautiful city.

2.5 We came here for brunch. We ordered the traditional eggs benedict, fruit salad, and the big breakfast. The dishes were okay. Nothing special. The poached eggs for the bennys were a tad overcooked. I prefer mine softer. The bacon strips that came with the big breakfast were small and thin. Otherwise, all other items were pretty solid. Our server may have been having a bad day, but he was a tad rude; however, the owner that greeted us at the door was extremely friendly.
