Great for an ok-priced beer and a hockey game! The service is very attentive and quick and the St-Regis-Lager tastes pretty good. Not the most special place on earth, but definitely a good spot if you want a decent sports bar right in the center.

The hot dog sliders as an appetizer are a good idea but the pretzel bun makes it the main course, I had the steak sandwich with what too much fried onions and the bread was old. The salad was good but my fiancé strawberry salad was completely raspberries and no strawberries. It’s a good quick bite to eat and drink place but no dinner restaurant

Was with a group of people who were originally going to the Lamplighter but that turned out to be a gong show due to there being a UFC fight being showed there, so we went to the St. Regis instead. The food itself was just sort of okay… nothing to write home about but the service was pretty good! The waiters and waitresses were all very friendly and came back to check up on us frequently. They also have a pretty diverse menu, happy hour menu, and drinks menu. Watch out for the automatically tacked on gratuity though… yikes 18%.

Because they food is fresh and it’s not the Cook’s fault the front of house staff is trying and failing. The shrimp gyoza on the Happy hour menu are out standing but a bartender who doesn’t offer you a drink no matter how cute is troublesome.

This is an adjacent bar to the hotel. We came here twice on the same day. The first time was around 10−11amish when it was pouring rain outside. There weren’t a lot of people and we sat at the bar, so we were helped immediately. The second time we after 7pm and it seemed people were just leaving after a game. We sat on a table literally in front of the bar and sat there for about 15 minutes being ignored. Granted my husband was busy watching the Dodger game and I was busy trying to connect to wifi(haha!), but when we finally realized we hadn’t been helped it had been about 15 minutes. When we were finally done with our drinks our waitress was nowhere to be found. I had enough waiting, so I went to the bartender and told her that we wanted our check. She walked up to a waitress(who I assume was ours) and let her know. I saw the waitress print up a receipt, but didn’t come to us to give it. Instead she stood by the register talking to her waitress friend, finished her story, and then came to us.

There are many scales you can use when trying to assess a place. St Regis does not excel on any of them. What it does do, however, is deliver an above average bar experience every time I go in. If it’s for a quick lunch, a burger, a salad or a sandwich, you can find nicer places or cheaper places, but St Regis delivers in short order, with a very friendly service. If it’s for an evening drink with some appies, St Regis can deliver a reasonable choice of drinks and some perfectly acceptable wings, ribs or calamari. And if you want to catch a game, they have a good number of screens to watch, but if that’s not your thing you can usually find a corner out of the way. So I give it four stars — I’m a fan. Not a dedicated, do-anything fan, but a happy fan who knows what he’s going to get every time.

Great atmosphere, classy place, part of an iconic building. The service is usually quite good, depending on the time of day, tends to get a bit noisy during lunch hour during week, but to be expected. My faves are the grilled salmon burger and California Chicken sandwich; the yam fries as a side are also very good.

Made an 11am reservation for a noon party of 15, … WITH a pre-order of appetizers, and St. Regis’ made it happen! Waitress was on point, kitchen got food out fast and everyone’s meal was great! …15 folks served and closed out in under an hour, helluva job St. Regis! Great place for a big group, and conveniently smack-dab in the middle of downtown. …Delicious, affordable, and Highly recommended!

After an invigorating walk along the waterfront past Canada Place and the Convention Centre I decided to give this cozy inviting room a try. It was quite close to where I was staying. I felt instantly at home even though I was on my own. On tap local beer specials were very reasonable and service was great. I can’t say anything about the food as I did not indulge.

Stopped by for dinner after class tonight. There was approximately 6 tables and was pretty quiet for a Tuesday night. The food was decent, nothing special. My problem was that when I went to use the ladies room. Out of the two stalls one of the toilets desperately needed attending to. Or at least an out of service sign and lock the door. I immediately told the waitress and thought something would be done. It seemed she was way too involved with her conversation with the bartender that she completely ignored my comment about the washroom. Before we left I had to use the facilities once more. The toilet was still a disaster which just proved that my comments were not appreciated. Quite disgusting and will make find another place to go for a drink or food.

Who else advertises: Buy two beers get the next one half off?! A cool pub?! Yes, that is what this is. We watched the Canucks take on Calgary on the big screen while noshing on a smoked salmon pizza and some Canadian scotch. This is a fun place. We actually ate here twice. The next day, after working up a serious appetite after skiing Whistler all day, the fish and chips was exactly what I wanted. Beer-battered and fried HALIBUT?! YUMMY! Great beers on tap, this place is a diamond in the city for pub-goers who love casual GOOD dining!

As far as pubs go this place is great. Staff know most regular patrons by name. Food is reasonably priced — there’s almost always a beer special and the crowd is a good mix of the downtown business crowd and tourists enjoying our city. Oh yeah and free wifi that is blazing fast. Extra props to Rachelle and Dora!

no we had our xmas lunch/drinks here and they accommodated a large group reso which was great BUT the food was horrendous. seriously. i was fascinated with the posole on their menu… not normally found on a bar menu and priced at 20 bucks. made me wonder«hey, maybe the chef spent a year in mexico perfecting authentic cuisine and fought to get it on the menu as a labour of love… i’ll take it!» but what i got was seriously wrong. a thick tomato-sauce like broth spiked with tabasco, chunks(NOT shredded) of pork with very large, unrendered pieces of fat. seriously folks i almost gagged on those. i forced myself to eat 10 dollars worth but then just couldn’t do it anymore. disgusting. otherwise everything was as you would expect in a downtown bar. loud, lots of tvs, booze. nothing to write home about and definitely not coming back.

typical pricy bar in CBD area, higher-end place w/a good ambience after work, plus it’s walking distance for most office towers. Quite spacious, with a downstairs too. More of a place for drinks than known for its food.

Looking for a quick bite to eat and a couple of drinks before the game we happened to pass the St Regis on the way, seems like the perfect place for a pre-game drink. The St Regis Bar and Grill is the Hotel bar of, you guessed it, the St Regis hotel. The space is pretty nice, a lot of seating and plenty of screens for people that want to watch sports. We ordered the Hot Dog Sliders with Chili and cheese along with Nachos with«Aged cheddar» and«Montery Jack» cheese. I did enjoy the sliders, the 3 little buns with a little sausage in there covered with Chili and cheese disappeared pretty fast but were they worth the $ 17? Sorry but for the equivalent of a foot long cut in to three pieces, absolutely not, I think I would get better value at BC Place. The nachos were just ok, I couldn’t tell that they used«Aged Cheddar» or they just aged the pre shredded cheese they got on sale. The beer selection was pretty good but pints cost a little more than what you would expect at other places like this. So if you can look past the prices, it’s not too bad of a place to go for beer as long as you keep your expectations low. I’ll file this in places to go when everyone else is busy.

BRUTAL. Went there last night and the waitress actually told us to order food from the bar because«she didn’t want to have to run around». I actually laughed out loud and thought it was a joke. The people managing the place have the downstairs open for some reason, although, there was only about 8 – 9 people in the whole place.(This was a Friday night in downtown Vancouver and it was busy everywhere else!) They should have had the downstairs closed off; at least give the appearance that there was people there and save your waitress from«having to run around.» So most of us completely gave up on food(which is why we originally went there). we should have given up on everything. The bartender shorted the alcohol in our drinks. You could even see when he poured the booze into the shot glass before he poured it into the cup, it wasn’t even ¾ to the top. Management needs to either figure themselves out or fire the staff that misguiding them. A prime location in downtown Vancouver with the luxury of heaps of space, TVs and a nice setup; they have done such a poor job, it’s empty.

Wanted to get a quick lunch and was tough to choose since there are plenty of places to eat in downtown… Should have picked somewhere else. The food was pretty bland. My colleague order the Thai Curry and there was a bunch of veggies, little chicken, and hardly any sauce for the curry. I had a Cobb Salad and it had your typical ingredients. Nothing too exciting. Maybe we just made bad choices and there may be other items on the menu that are really good but I’ll test my luck somewhere else.

Normally I wouldn’t think to come to this part of town for a drink, I mean there are a lot of places a little further south on Granville, and even closer is Gastown which speaks for itself. However that is where it finds it charm, the patrons and staff all seem to be acquainted and seem pretty friendly. If you’re a sports fan like me there is a plethora of flat screens to catch the game too. The food isn’t anything to go on about. It is pretty much what you would expect, but by no means disappointing. My only complaint is when places like that are clearly catered to the average North American diet try to do stuff like Jerk Chicken or any other ethnic foods(which Mike. L got burnt on, no pun intended) I think restaurants like that should stick to the basics like pizza, burgers, and pasta but just do them as good as possible. As for the patrons like me, and Mike. L if you know enough about something like Jerk Chicken to order it, then you should also know that unless its some Caribbean place that ONLY does that sort of thing it is probably going to be done pretty badly. Net point– solid place for a drink, and the menu satisfies the late night munchies.
