Another of my fave neighbourhood Starbucks stores! This one has lots of comfy seats, a nice ambience, and a handful of parking spots out front. Its location is in a quiet residential area, so even when busy, it’s only kids from the nearby high school, or residents of this neighbourhood. Situated next to a Chevron gas station, it’s a convenient one to stop at & grab a coffee before/after fuelling up!

It’s hard to review Starbucks locations because they all look the same. This outlet is small and primarily serves the neighbourhood and the school nearby. The staff are OK and the drinks are well, overpriced. But I least I get free Wifi and I could easily swing by after shopping at Safeway which is a few blocks north.

Okay… putting my professional reputation on the line here by reviewing a Starbucks but what can I say, a girl’s gotta study. I am going to write this review by answering 2 basic questions: 1) Why THIS branch of a crappy, immoral, overpriced chain coffee joint? It’s close to home, and it’s just isolated enough that it is not constantly overrun with a terrifying mix of yuppies, tasteless highschool students, and people who order tripple-low-fat-caramel-machiatos and the like. This leaves plenty of room for me to spread out my computer(enough outlets to make this possible), crack open a few books, and go blank to to the world. 2) How can you afford thier coffee? More importantly, how can you drink it? Not going to lie, I just cannot bring myself to order coffee from Starbucks. This is due to some combination of arbitrary dislike of the company as a destroyer of small coffee houses, of the drinks as overpriced, and of coffee grounds when they are practically burnt to a crisp. However, like I said, a girl’s gottta study and there aren’t too many places in the city with a surpluss of outlets and lots of free space that aren’t my home or the library. Accordingly I strike a compromise. I buy tea. Sure $ 2.02 is a lot to pay for a cup of tea(damn you HST!) but it hits the spot and keeps the baristas at bay. So: if you are looking for a quiet, unobtrusive place to study… find your own Starbucks! This one is mine… all mine… muahahahaha
