My wet(enchilada sauce and cheese) burrito with chicken and black beans was good. There were many choices, which the server happily repeated when I didn’t answer. The service was fast. The small order was plenty of food. And sure am glad that I didn’t go for the extreme hot sauce. I enjoyed the Mexican music, and that it wasn’t to loud. Why do so many Mexican play top 40s? It pretty much fit the bill for grabbing some nourishment between sessions.

They try to make the Baja style food, what is great, but it is not so tasty and they lack of ingredients ans sauces. I tried the fish taco from tuesdays’ combo and I was completely full. The combo comes with 2 tacos, rice and beans, and a bevarage(which is really necessary because the tacos are very very very dry, a not common issue in the Baja food) The personal is so friendly and they are not mexicans as I thought(none of them!). Just another observation. Do they put curry in their rice? If yes, let me tell you that in Mexico we don’t even know curry.

I knew I should have gone to Chronic Taco for my quickie tex-mex fix. The meat here was bland and akin to dog food– plus the rice was way too dry. I’ve had a lot worse than this, but there are far better options in this city.

only convenient for the DT office people, as you can’t possibly drive here just for the sole purpose of eating here. It’s average food at best, being fast food, still a bit more trustworthy than a no-name food court. No parking in front at all, since all the buses go through here. They do offer catering.

The roach motel of Mex fast foods. Taco Del Mar’s existence is always a bit mysterious to me. They are no cheaper than other fast food places. But noticeably worse. Why does anyone eat there? Prior to eating there I’d never ever had heartburn, asides from the time I ordered ‘spicy’ at an Indian restaurant. My first encounter with the«Mission Style Burritos» changed that. I’ve been at their Langley location since. While I didn’t get sick from it, I found it just as iffy as downtown’s location. Vegetables? Hah! Taste? Hah! Pony up an extra $ 0.75 for«guacamole» and you will get half a tablespoon’s of grey, not green, goop. Means it’s been prepped _way_in advance. Served on grey meat. Yummy. It’s a fast food joint, sure. But other fast food vendors are better and no more expensive.

For $ 6.29, you can split a really great burrito in two and share it with your lady. That’s like, nothing. If you need a cheap bite that tastes good and you’re in the hood, you could do muuuuuuuuch worse. Fun service, quick(since no one is ever in here), and great hot salsa. They put the works into a vegan burrito, which is what I gotta scarf. Not sure why there are any complaints, and maybe«Nicole F.» is expecting too much…“expensive?” REALLY? HELLNAH. Fresh and fast, get your sheeeeit on a tomato, spinach, whole wheat, or whiteperson wrap. It works and it’s suuuuuuuuuuuper inexpensive.

I came here because… well… I actually don’t know. I had intended to go to Quizno’s, but it was closed… so I wandered up to Granville and was about to just go to Subway but ended up in Taco Del Mar. I’d never been here before(I know… I live under a rock), and so I didn’t really know what I was getting into. I assumed that you can never go wrong with a burrito. I had a filling meal, and the lady working there was very nice and quick. It wasn’t very busy… but it was after 8 on a Friday night so I’m assuming everyone else just has a life that’s much more exciting than mine. I was a bit horrified when I saw the containers filled with black/refried beans in their respective slops… not exactly appealing to the eye– but tasty nonetheless. Just don’t watch when they scoop it up. I probably won’t come here often if I ever do come here again. It wasn’t anything special, and for a combo, it cost me $ 11… I could have gone to a better restaurant for that price and been waited on. They serve alcohol here… so that might be a plus for some people… but if I’d wanted to drink, I probably would have gone to a bar/pub. This place is more of a fast food joint. Taco Del Mar, it is what it is. It isn’t bad… But it wasn’t anything special either!

Usually ok, but on a Sunday evening the pint of beer was poured short and there was something about my burrito that smelled real bad.

I don’t usually dine at Taco Del Mar. The food’s edible and not to knock on anyone’s taste, but these are the only reasons to eat here: You are in a rush and need some fast food Mexican food You don’t care about high quality food You are on a budget You are bored of Subway and want to try the restaurant next door

I’ve been eyeing this place up for a while. Saving it for a day when I felt I’d earned a junk food day, so after an exhausting weekend of moving house, I felt I deserved it. With our mouths watering as we reviewed the menu, my hubby and I ordered tacos, enchiladas and a taco salad. It look OK when it was served… but was really nothing special. The portions were big, but the flavour was disappointing. A very drunk guy walked in while we were sitting there and ordered some food. Although he was pretty wasted, he wasn’t causing any harm, but the staff were really aggressive towards him. We ended up packing up the rest of our food and leaving.

Taco salad was average. Don’t really get a whole lot of guac when you ask for it. I might try something else here again.

I don’t come here often because I find it somewhat pricey, but the food has never once disappointed me. They state on the wall menu that most(maybe all?) items can be made vegetarian or vegan. Handy! Back in my meat eating days I used to get the beef Baja Bowl all the time. Its very good and flavourful and I recommend it. Today I got the quesadilla combo and added on guacamole and sour cream and chose refried beans. Sadly you cannot pick the flavour of tortilla you’d like. Only the plain white comes with the quesadillas. The cheese is flavourful and the salsa has a subtle kick to it. And who doesn’t love sour cream and guac?!

Another lovely taco salad, just as tasty as the last from the gilmore skytrain location, although half the size. If you want the rice and black or refried beans, be sure to ask as that salad apparently doesn’t normally contain those magic ingredients.

A good friend of mine and I love this place, everyone else we know hates it but you know what that’s cool because when we go there on a lunch date it’s never busy. I’ve never seen many people in there which for the life of me I don’t get, yummy cheap food with the option to have a beer, you can’t go wrong! The place is conveniantly located, clean and among the best value in town. I also don’t have any post«side effects» that other places in town are notorious for so it’s a tick in every box.

ummm… sorry I’m biased. I lived in Houston for a summer and ate amazing Tex-Mex for $ 3USD. My soft shell beef taco was A-OK, but black beans and rice were subpar. Price was cheap and restaurant was clean. Don’t expect too much my fellow Unilocalers… were in Canada.

Nothin’ says lovin’ like a freshly steamed corn tortilla filled with wet chicken-sour cream-guacamole-beans-rice-cheese-and a little hot sauce… nope…nothin’ says lovin’ but that… mmmmm So after a few business trips to LA I started to realize that Mexican food in Canada is not quite up to par… shock right? Not so much.anyway.I had searched and searched for better Mexican fare and had yet to find a good burrito when I stumbled upon Taco Del Mar… I was skeptical at first. the décor is a bit hokey… grass umbrellas over the tables… Mexican cantina style. and the menu board behind the counter read like Ikea instructions… but once I figured it out.“one super burrito por pavor”…it was smooth sailing… They wrap your burrito up super tight with foil so it stays together. which is a good thing ’cause these bad boys are big and full to the brim with yummy goodness… one bit and I was transported back to a little burrito cart on Santa Monica Blvd… minus the scary homeless guy that wanted a bite of my taco… While it’s not mind blowingly amazing the food it pretty darn tasty… and they make it right there in front of you when you order so you never have to wait long to get your grub… as long as there’s no line ups which depending on the time. there often are… Word to the wise. stay away from the pork. I dunno why but there’s something about wet pork that just seems wrong…
