Hands down, The Kaboom Box has the 2nd best smoked salmon I’ve ever had. First place goes to my mother, whose smoked salmon is so amazingly good, I could probably eat an entire fish in one sitting. But the Kaboom Box is a close second — and that’s saying a lot. I think it’s the way they smoke it(hot smoke instead of cold smoke). It’s full of flavour, very tender & moist, and of course, served hot. I chose to have my salmon with their house salad instead of as a sandwich, just to make it a bit healthier. It was delicious! The salad had dried cranberries and candied almonds, and their house-made dressing was really good. I’m so glad this food truck is so close to my office on West Georgia Street, as I am looking forward to trying the rest of their menu items.

Ah, the 3 greatest letters in the Unilocal alphabet(well, maybe after F.U.C)…FTR!!! That’s right baby, this cherry is mine, and I am going to demolish it… teehee. I was swinging back to the office after an all-morning meeting and my belly was growling. What do you know? Kaboom has a new truck right on Georgia, and they were filming for Eat ST right when I popped in, what awesome timing! I noticed the rock crab cake po-boy…sold! Quickly made it back to the office to dive my face into my seafood sandie… and the results, drum roll please… …Meh, a decent sandwich, but too much mush. What I mean by that, is you have a soft whole wheat bun, with soft lettuce, soft aoili and a very soft crab cake, barely any crunch. I am not a fan of sandwiches with mono-textures. The flavors were pretty wicked, but the texture, or lack thereof was a bit off putting, at least for my palate. The guys that run kaboom are friggin awesome, I can’t say enough good things, I think the food, specifically the flavors are great, but I’m yet to be fully sold on a dish. That’s just my two cents.(You just paid two cents too many :))
