Is this place closed? We got no return calls and when we went to the restaurant the doors were closed.

Just ate here. Did not enjoy the food at all. Found a hair in my food. The seafood did not taste fresh… had a freezer burn type of taste. Would not come back here again. The Chong Qing on Robson is by far superior and the food there is excellent and always consistent.

We had a «living social» coupon and went here tonight for the first time as a «dine in» experience… We have ordered take out a few times(and always enjoy it). We ordered green beans, ginger beef & kung pao chicken. I have to say we both agreed that the ginger beef was the best we have ever had. The green beans were also excellent. The Kung pao was«ok» the texture wasn’t for me as it was dark meat but the flavor was good and it had a good spice to it. We were seated right away and throughout the meal were greeted and approached by 5 different staff who all were personable, happy and attentive. We had a great experience. We will definitely be repeat customers.

I came here for dinner tonight and the service sucked. Its also very dark inside so it looked closed. It took them a while to even give us tea. I would understand if they were busy but it was almost empty. The portion sizes were very small. We got a rice dish and the rice was literally thrown on, it was all over the place. Very bad presentation. The beef dish was very salty and had only a few pieces of beef and a lot of onions. I also got a deep fried pork dish and the meat tasted like it had gone bad or something. It was sour, super greasy and gross. Overall i would not recommend this place. I only gave this 2 star because the owner was nice enough to not charge us for the pork. This was the one in tinseltown.

I have been to the Chongqing old west broadway location and the new international village location around 6 – 8 times. Each time I came in with a Groupon or Livingsocial deal and each time I ordered Peking Duck(+/-another dish). I really like Peking Duck and I saw this as an opportunity to order this dish at a cheaper price. Chongqing lists Peking Duck as an appetizer(I think most other restaurants list this dish as an entrée since it is not exactly a cheap dish!) Service was at best mediocre at the old location, and got worse at the new location. On several occasions, I found that if you didn’t look like a business man(for the record I was still moderately well dressed), you did not get any smiles and would get one word«uninterested» answers if you tried to make small talk with servers. I assume they weren’t happy that I had a coupon. Since I was there just to use my coupon, I wasn’t too bothered with the sub par treatment. However, on my most recent visit, I phoned in advance to confirm that Peking Duck was available. The lady who answered the phone confirmed the availability and even offered to hold the dish for me in case they run out. I confirmed I will order the dish for sure. When I arrived at the restaurant, I was told that they could only offer me a half portion because they sold the other half«in case I didn’t show up». Half portions are not even supposed to be sold at that restaurant. I was going to just accept the half portion but was told that Chongqing will no longer allow use of the coupon deal on appetizers! Due to unwelcoming service, disappointing change of coupon regulations, and giving away half of my reserved dish, I have decided that I will no longer go to this restaurant. I have successfully contacted Groupon and Livingsocial to seek a refund.

Came here tonight because of a groupon. Ordered the Ginger Beef + Green Beans that were recommended by a previous poster. You can adjust the degree of spiciness to little spice or no spice. Both dishes were good. Rice is $ 1.50 per bowl. Tea is $ 1.00 per person.(thought it was a bit too much) We wanted to order the coconut crème brûlée but they didn’t have it. Asked if there was any other dessert. They only had the red bean pancake. They should cover up the dessert list if they don’t want to offer desserts. We were able to use the groupon to include the taxes. We’d come back(with a groupon) of course. I hope they are successful.

Came here for lunch with my cousin because there’s a groupon online. This restaurant used to be located on broadway, but I guess they wanted to change things up by changing it from seafood restaurant to bistro. They’re located on the second level at the village and off to one side of the food court. The ambiance is more like a lounge. Similar to P F Changs in the states. The lighting was very dim, but bright enough to read the menu and eat. The food quality hasn’t changed. Still very good and greasy! All in all a great place to still have your Szechuan food. Oh and the service was great for an Asian restaurant! We did go when it opened so there weren’t many tables yet. It did take them awhile to bring our change back. One more thing. The hours posted online and the actual hours posted on the door of the restaurant are different! Online, it says they open at 10am, but they actually open at 1130! So we had to wait 30 mins and went to get some grocery shopping done in that time… But still they need to get their hours right online!
