Interesting place. We had just ate so we didn’t try the food although it all sounded/looked good. We had a energy ball which was really good. It tasted like a brownie but healthy! Had the amour drink it was really good I love almond milk. Overall a cool place the staff was very friendly.

My partner and I went here before going to see a show as we were very intrigued by the holiday cooked set menu. As time was short we ordered straight away. Note: I’m vegan and my partner is not. The highlights of our quick visit: — the harvest drink(apple cider + cinnamon) was absolutely fantastic, so refreshing! — the starter: Mushroom and Caramelized Onion Tart with Sunchoke Cream was great except I felt like there needed to be one more on the plate(there was only two) and the dried sunchoke was way too hard. — all the servers /staff seem like they were all happy to be there /in a good mood which really helped set the mood. They kept in mind that we needed to go to a show and served us quickly. — the interior design is intriguing. love the round table booth chairs. — the dessert: Pumpkin Mousse, Toasted Almond Crumb, Cranberry Ginger Reduction hit it out of the park! This is an example of top vegan food. The chef got the look and all the flavours and textures right! It’s was definitely a «wow dessert“and something I’m going to be thinking about for a while. Some notes: — the main meal: Lemony-Ginger Kale and Almond ‘Ricotta’ Squash Roulade with Braised Carrot, was only ok. The look, texture and flavours were odd. The highlight of the meal was the carrots as they were spiced and cooked perfectly. — Now to be picky — I know the overall look of the place is meant to be minimal but I found the leaf wall art a bit of a let down, especially in this area(being yaletown) I think I expected a little bit more. What would be fantastic is if this whole wall was a living green wall(or had some sort of plant based artwork). Overall fantastic and I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Was visiting Vancouver on a business trip and stumbled into this place and it was a pleasant surprise! Can’t go wrong with the nachos and the rice wrap. Didn’t think I would leave full but it was more than enough food. I recommend sharing :)

My final meal in Vancouver was at Zend and I’m glad it was, because Zend hit the spot and gives off great vibes. First, the restaurant donates all of its profits to charity. Second, the staff is incredibly friendly and you can tell everyone there is passionate about food and the mission of the café. We started with a «Longevity cappucino»($ 5) which is made with mushrooms and unsweetened almond milk. It sounds weird, but was delicious and warming on a chilly day. We asked them to leave off the maple syrup they normally add, so it wasn’t too sweet. For our mains we had the gluten-free flatbread of the day($ 14), a side of sunflower seed cheese($ 3) and a «Green Plate»($ 14) which is served until noon. The flatbread was tasty but didn’t wow me. It’s a savory pizza-like thing on a soft«bread» made of cauliflower, kale and some type of base grain(quinoa?). I think it would have been better with sauteed mushrooms. The Green Plate consists of a piece of quiche, some toast, and homemade apple sausage. Not many restaurants in Vancouver make their own vegan sausages, so I was impressed by this. I liked the taste of everything on the dish, but both the quiche and the sausage could have been firmer. Lastly, we had a chocolate tort for dessert($ 8). The taste of avocado in the mousse came through a bit too strongly, and the crust was too hard, but I liked the concept and it tasted good. Tip: try to get a seat away from the automated sliding front door, which lets in a ton of cold air every time it opens and closes. There’s also a general draft in the place, so maybe they could turn up the heat a bit? All told, I liked Zend and appreciate their mission and focus on hand-crafted foods.

I wish I left feeling better about this place, it’s the type of place you want to like… The food was ok– I had the rice paper rolls(nothing extraordinary), sushi– ok, nachos-the nacho dip probably best thing I had all night– a slightly spicy smokey flavour, taco– eh, and seasonal apple pie desert-ok. For the price I have to say I expect more than ok. Oh well, at least the money goes to charity.

I love the concept, and the service was super nice. But the food wasn’t that great… I tried amour, and after a few sips it started to taste really weird to me and I gave up halfway. However I did feel the healing effect of the drink on my body — my stomach felt really comforted almost immediately. I also got the sushi roll, and it was just average.

Lovely vibe in this place, and I was pumped to check it out since the proceeds go to charity and because I am vegan. I love the idea of healthy vegan food that nourishes your body, mind and soul. I had the Tropics smoothie with Zend shot in it, and did not like it at all. It made my mouth feel numb and tingly, which reminded me of the topical anaesthetic that dentists give you before you get a needle in your mouth. I had the sushi roll for lunch, and though it was ok, it was really nothing special, and was pricey for such a small plate. I found that my own vegan sushi rolls I make at home have more flavour and substance. Overall, I am sad to say that I was quite disappointed. I really wanted to love it, but it just didn’t deliver to the high standards I had expected. :(Our whole table left still hungry after eating. Our waitress was very nice though, and gave us a great vibe, so she made the experience more enjoyable for us.

Lots of vegan choices. Tacos were outstanding. Beet wrap chickpea patty was excellent. The apple and potato salad just ok, needed more seasoning.

Went there today and ordered a few of their shareable plates. I was excited to try this new vegan restaurant but felt a little disappointed with the quantity, price, and service. We ordered three shareable played between the two of us. Two of our dishes arrived 30 min later and we continued to wait for the third and when we finally asked the server when our third dish was coming she apologized that the third dish was never entered into the system. The portions were just too small for the price and the wait was too long when it was not even very busy. The flavours were good and I appreciate the background of the restaurant. As well as ambience of restaurant is nice they have comfy chairs.

Wonderful food, your taste buds are in for a treat. The food is made fresh, organic and all vegan and gluten free. Tried several dishes and highly recommend the nacho dip and the crust of the flatbread is amazing! Also don’t forget to order a Zend shot, your body will thank you for it…

I stepped in here one night with a friend and I really, really love the vibe of this place. It’s in the heart of yaletown, and this place has a community feel to it. It just opened about 6 weeks ago and so it is in its early stages. Some thoughts ? 1)They don’t serve alcohol, but if your feeling stressed or need a healthy boost, this is the place to grab a juice or food because the ingredients are 100% organic and contains ingredients that relieve symptoms of stress, anxiety etc. I like to think of it as having a shot of vitamin the yummy way. The Einstein elixer is a favorite of mine and also the triple chocolate torte. 2)One of the few places that is 100% vegan 3)The items are on the pricier side, but 100% of the profits goes to charity, yes 100% ! One word: WOW 4)Staff are super super friendly and nice 5)Layout of the place was spacious, modern, with a comfy feel to it I believe this lounge is working towards having a movie night, band night, DJ night, basically a place that you can chill with friends but also meet new people.

The fact that all profits from this restaurant go to charity just make it taste even better!!! I had an amazing smoothie with a shot of Zend with kava and the spiced cilantro carrot wrap. Seriously so good!!! And of course you can’t leave without trying the triple chocolate torte! Healthiest restaurant in Vancouver by far! #Organic #Vegan #Kava #NonProfit #SoMuchYes

I love what these guys are about and what they offer, but I’ve never felt so ripped off. The food is only decent, the portions TINY, and the prices are ridiculously high for what you get. Friendly courteous staff, cool layout and design. I’d take Indigo Age Café any day over Zend. PS: what is Zend doing in the Yaletown market? Good luck!

The food at Zend is incredible. Everything I have tasted I love which is so far just the wraps and Zend beverage. I like to bring my laptop in, drink a couple Zend shots and work away. Looking forward to seeing more from these guys in the near future.

Wow! Gotta say that this place lives up to it’s 5 star reviews. Gonna keep it short and sweet. The food and drinks were excellent. And the service is awesome. All proceeds to go charity… are you kidding me? Now this is a place I’m happy to support. Awesome dining in a location that really needs it. ’nuff said…

I’m not vegan and I love meat and gluten. I was however very impressed with the food here. I had the tacos and the rice wraps. They were both great and the staff was friendly and attentive and seemed genuinely happy for us to be there.

I hit the Zend lounge today and had a smoothie, the tacos and the nachos. Wow impressed! I can’t believe how good these guys can make healthy food taste. To finish off the meal I highly recommend a Zend shot with the chocolate tort. The vibe here is very chill, a great place to hang with friends for good connection and conversation! Bula Bula

I had an amazing time at Zend Conscious Lounge the other day! The atmosphere is great and I love the fact that 100% of the proceeds from the restaurant goes to charity. All the food is vegan, and gluten-free and everything is very healthy and fresh. A group of us stopped in for drinks and dessert. I tried the Einstein drink. It was bright orange and tasted delicious. I sampled some other drinks we ordered at our table and loved the Garden of Eden and Love Potion as well. I’ll probably order the Longevity Cappuccino next time, however, as it tasted like a hot chocolate but was so healthy. If you’ve never tried a Zend shot — I would encourage you to do so. It’s made with Kava Kava which is a plant that gives you a mellow feeling without any of the side effects of drinking alcohol. We tried both desserts and I loved them both but the Flan was my favourite. It melts in the mouth. The evening we had it the seasonal fruit was nectarine. The chocolate torte was also amazing. I loved that it wasn’t cloyingly sweet like many desserts are these days. I also had a bite of the beet wrap and can’t wait to go there for dinner. The wrap was made with dehydrated beets and the filling was delicious. Yum! I would highly recommend that you check it out!
